  • McKesson: Another Specialty Asset Acquisition Fits With Long-Term Ambition; Valuation Maintained

McKesson is one of three leading pharmaceutical wholesalers in the US engaged in sourcing and distributing branded, generic, and specialty pharmaceutical products to pharmacies (retail chains, independent, and mail order), hospitals networks, and healthcare providers. Along with Cencora and Cardinal Health, the three account for over 90% of the US pharmaceutical wholesale industry. Outside the US market, McKesson engages in pharmaceutical wholesale and distribution in Canada. Additionally, the company supplies medical-surgical products and equipment to healthcare facilities and provides a variety of technology solutions for pharmacies.

  • On Monday, the Nasdaq, Nasdaq 100 (QQQ), and iShares Top U.S.

On Monday, the Nasdaq, Nasdaq 100 (QQQ), and iShares Top U.S. Stocks ETF (TOPT) added to their advances and pushed deeper into uncharted territory. That means we now have confirmed breakouts. Meanwhile the S&P 500 (SPX) could soon eclipse its August 13 all-time high (ATH) at 7,800. The smaller-cap indices have bounced off their respective 200-day averages, a bullish sign, but have a lot of ground to recover before we can start talking about ATHs. The 10-year Treasury rose a few basis points to 5.3%, while the rest of the yield curve did little. That is at least a small victory considering the recent run higher. One gets the sense that the stock market could see a blow-off move if yields just see some reversion to the mean. It's pretty clear that the suffering market breadth condition would get quite a boost on any indication that rates have topped. Many times, when breadth and many stocks and industries become extremely oversold, the snapback is particularly sharp.
