The Easterly Snow Small Cap Value Fund fell 4.04% in Q3 2026, outperforming both the Bloomberg US 2000 Value Index (-7.26%) and Russell 2000 Value Index (-4.91%). Sharply higher Treasury yields, renewed Fed rate hikes, inflation concerns, geopolitical tensions, heavy government and AI-related corporate borrowing, and concentrated equity-market gains pressured markets. The fund's outperformance came from stock selection despite sector-allocation headwinds. Management remains optimistic about attractively valued small-cap companies, emphasizing strong balance sheets, free cash flow, improving fundamentals, and potential benefits from AI investment, manufacturing growth, energy security, and reshoring. In its Q3 2026 investor letter, Snow Capital Small Cap Value Fund highlighted Progyny, Inc. (NASDAQ:PGNY) as a performance detractor, reversing gains from the prior period. Progyny, Inc. (NASDAQ:PGNY) closed at $28.40 on October 29, 2026, with a $2.18 billion market cap. The stock gained 12.56% over the past month alongside a 51.79% 52-week rise.
Snow Capital Small Cap Value Fund stated the following regarding Progyny, Inc. (NASDAQ:PGNY) in its Q3 2026 investor letter:
"Shares of fertility benefits management company Progyny, Inc. (NASDAQ:PGNY) detracted from performance during the third quarter, reversing gains from the prior quarter. The decline followed softer-than expected utilization trends and a reduction in the company's full year revenue guidance to $1.36–$1.385 billion from $1.365–$1.405 billion. Management attributed the weaker outlook to utilization trends that were more pronounced than typical summer seasonality, while maintaining that the slowdown did not reflect a structural shift in demand. Despite near-term headwinds, management expressed optimism about the 2027 selling season, citing encouraging early commitments and request-for-proposal (RFP) activity. We continue to view Progyny favorably given its recurring revenue base, nearly 100% client retention and potential long-term demand for employer-sponsored fertility benefits. With no outstanding debt and shares trading at approximately 12x estimated 2026 earnings, we believe Progyny offers an attractive valuation as employers increasingly incorporate fertility benefits into their health plans."
