Free Online 3D Model Editor

Edit GLB and OBJ files in your browser: resize, rotate, change units and recenter, then download the same format with its materials, textures and animations intact. Nothing to install, and nothing is uploaded.

For an OBJ, select the .obj with its .mtl and texture images, or one .zip, so the materials come back in the download.

Your file never leaves your device.

How to Edit a 3D Model Online

Three steps, all in your browser.

Drop Your GLB or OBJ

A GLB Editor and an OBJ Editor in One Tool

Each format keeps what makes it useful.

GLB Editor

A GLB packs the mesh, materials, textures and animations into one binary file. The editor only changes where the model sits in that file, through a transform at its root, so Draco or Meshopt compression, embedded textures, skins and animation clips come back byte for byte. glTF measures in meters, so the download always does too. If a model was exported at the wrong scale, pick the unit it was really made in and the editor rescales it to true meters.

  • Textures, PBR materials and animations kept
  • Draco and Meshopt compression kept
  • Always saved in meters, as the glTF spec requires

OBJ Editor

An OBJ is plain text that points to an .mtl file for its materials, which in turn points to texture images. Drop them all together, or as one .zip, and the editor rewrites only the vertex positions and normals. Groups, objects, UVs, quads and material assignments stay exactly as written, and the .mtl and textures go back into the download untouched. OBJ has no unit field, so tell the editor what the numbers mean and pick the unit to save in.

  • MTL and textures bundled back into a .zip
  • Groups, objects, UVs and quads untouched
  • Convert between mm, cm, m, inches and feet

What You Can Do With the 3D Model Editor

Resize to an Exact Size

Type the height, width or depth you need and the other sides follow, or scale by a percentage.

Convert Units

Fix a model that arrived 100× too big or too small by switching between mm, cm, m, inches and feet.

Fix Orientation

Turn the model in 90° steps on any axis, or flip a Z-up export to the Y-up that glTF, Unity and three.js expect.

Recenter and Ground

Move the origin to the model's center, or stand it on the floor so it drops into a scene at the right height.

Keep Materials and Animations

The download is your own file with the edit applied, not a re-export, so nothing gets lost along the way.

Private, in Your Browser

Files are processed on your device and never uploaded. No account, no install.

Change the Shape With Meshy Edit

This editor changes size, units and orientation. To change the shape itself, generate the model in Meshy and describe the change to Meshy Edit.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. It's free, with no account, no watermark and no limit on how many files you edit.

No. The model is read and edited in your browser, and the download is built on your device. Nothing is sent to Meshy's servers.

Yes. A GLB keeps its materials, textures, skins, animation clips and compression, because the editor only adds a transform at the root of the file. An OBJ keeps its groups, UVs and material assignments, and its .mtl and textures are packed back into the download.

Select the .obj, its .mtl and every texture image together, or drop them as one .zip. If the .mtl names a texture you didn't include, the editor lists it so you can add it.

glTF, and so GLB, defines one unit as one meter. OBJ has no unit at all: the numbers mean whatever the modeling app used, often meters from Blender or millimeters from CAD. Set the file unit in the Scale tab to match, then pick the unit to export in.

Open the Transform tab and click Convert Z-up to Y-up. It turns the model −90° around the X axis, so a model saved Z-up — common for CAD exports and files converted from STL — stands upright in Y-up engines and viewers. Check the preview first: Blender's glTF and OBJ exporters already write Y-up, so their files usually need no turn.

Not in this editor, which changes size, units, orientation and position. To reshape a model, generate it in Meshy and describe the change to Meshy Edit.

For STL, use the STL Editor, which adds 3D printing checks. For FBX, convert it with the FBX to GLB converter first, edit it here, and convert it back if you need to.

It opens binary .glb files. A .gltf with separate .bin and texture files can be packed into one GLB with the glTF to GLB converter.
