Text prompt and sketch used to design a 3D printed toy in Meshy

Types of 3D Printed Toys You Can Design

Meshy turns a text prompt or photo into a printable toy model, including custom action figures, fidget toys, robots, vehicles, dinosaurs, and animal figures. Each model exports as STL or 3MF for FDM and resin printers, with no CAD experience needed.

Turn an original character, a pet, or yourself into a collectible figure with Image to 3D, split it into printable parts for easy assembly, and print in resin for fine detail.

Describe spinners, flexi animals, and desk toys in Text to 3D, size them to your hand, then thicken thin parts so they survive daily handling.

Frequently Asked Questions

Describe the toy in a text prompt or upload a sketch or photo, and Meshy generates a 3D model in minutes. Adjust the polycount and real-world size, then export STL or 3MF and slice the file. No CAD or 3D modelling experience is needed to design 3D printed toys.

Yes. Photograph the drawing and upload it to Image to 3D, and Meshy reconstructs it as a 3D model you can print. Check the size in millimetres and thicken any thin parts before printing, so the finished 3D printed toy is sturdy enough to be handled.

STL is the universal choice and opens in every slicer. Use 3MF when you want colour and multi-material information to carry through to a multi-colour printer. Meshy exports both, along with OBJ, FBX, GLB, and BLEND if the toy model also needs rendering or editing.

Meshy files open in Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer, Ultimaker Cura, and Lychee Slicer for resin, which covers most FDM and resin machines. Meshy outputs manifold geometry, so a toy model generally slices without repair work before printing.

Meshy generates the geometry, but print safety depends on your material and design choices. Use a child-safe filament, avoid small detachable parts for young children, thicken thin sections, and sand printed layer lines. Always supervise how a 3D printed toy is used by a young child.

Paid plans grant full commercial rights to use, sell, and distribute your models, and keep the assets private. Free-plan outputs use a CC BY 4.0 license, which allows commercial use as long as you credit Meshy. See our pricing page for plan details.
