/ Commerce, on the record
One client, on the record: Rev-A-Shelf, moved from Magento to Adobe Commerce with Salesforce, ERP and PIM connected around it. It is commerce platform work rather than an app build, and it is the kind of backbone a mobile storefront runs on.

An eCommerce app development company plans, designs, builds and supports the apps a brand sells through: native iOS apps, Android apps, cross-platform mobile apps and progressive web apps. The work covers UX, catalog and checkout, payment gateway integration and the link to your eCommerce platform, then launch and post-launch support. Brainvire covers that whole scope, with AI built into personalization, search and support.
Strategy and UX, native and cross-platform builds, PWAs, platform and third-party integrations, secure payment gateways, marketplace features, order and inventory management, testing, store submission and managed support. Our eCommerce app development solutions are scoped to your business needs rather than sold as a fixed package.
A mobile website runs in the browser and is usually found through search. A native eCommerce app is installed from the App Store or Google Play, can use device features such as the camera and biometrics, supports push notifications, and keeps a signed-in shopper one tap from checkout. A progressive web app sits between the two: a web app that can be added to the home screen. A common pattern is the mobile site for discovery and the app for repeat buyers.
Native iOS and Android apps give the deepest device access and performance. Cross-platform frameworks share one codebase across both stores, which suits most catalog-and-checkout apps. A PWA is the lightest route for an existing online store. We recommend a route after looking at your audience, feature list and team, not by default.
eCommerce app development cost depends on scope: iOS, Android or both, native or cross-platform, the number of integrations, custom features such as AR or subscriptions, and how much of the design is bespoke. There is no rate card here, because scope drives the number. After a working session we give a phased estimate, and the work can be phased so a lean first release goes live before larger features.
It depends on scope. A PWA on an existing store is the fastest route, while a native app with marketplace or subscription features takes the longest. You see a working demo at every stage, so progress is visible from the first sprint rather than at the end.
Yes. Custom eCommerce app development makes sense when a template app cannot handle your catalog, pricing, loyalty or fulfillment rules. We build custom features on top of your existing platform rather than replacing what already works, and keep the app upgrade-safe as that platform changes.
Yes. We build multi-vendor marketplace apps with vendor onboarding, catalog and order tools for sellers, commission and payout logic, and shopper-side search, reviews and checkout. A digital marketplace also needs moderation and dispute handling, which we scope from the start.
Cards, digital wallets, buy now, pay later providers and local payment methods can all be added through secure payment gateways. Payment gateway integration is scoped to the markets you sell in, and card entry runs through the payment provider's own SDK so raw card numbers are handled by the provider rather than stored by the app.
Yes. In headless commerce solutions the app, website and other channels read from the same commerce backend through APIs, so one catalog, cart and customer data model serves every front end. It suits brands that want an app and a web storefront to evolve independently.
An installed app keeps signed-in shoppers close: saved carts, one-tap reorder, loyalty balances and opted-in push notifications bring them back without paid media. Customer retention also depends on the basics, meaning fast screens, a checkout that does not fail and support that answers inside the app.
We set up analytics tools before launch to track the funnel from product view to purchase, crash rates, app store ratings and repeat purchases. Ratings and reviews are the clearest customer satisfaction signal, and together these numbers steer post-launch support toward the steps where shoppers drop out.
Ask to see shipped apps in the stores, not only mockups. Ask who owns the code and the store accounts, how payments security and platform updates are handled, and speak to a client whose app has been live for a while. Published rankings are a starting point, but the right partner is the one whose experience matches your platform and roadmap.
An eCommerce app development agency brings a full software development team, from UX and iOS and Android engineers to backend and QA, plus ownership of delivery. If you would rather hire eCommerce app developers into your own team, we also provide dedicated developers who work inside your process.
Yes. We also handle web development for the eCommerce website, so the app and the site share one catalog, one checkout logic and one design system. Where a brand runs on Shopify, Magento, WooCommerce, BigCommerce or Salesforce, the app connects to that platform rather than duplicating it.
Fast screens, search that understands shoppers, a short checkout with the payment options your buyers expect, useful push notifications, and inventory that is accurate in real time. A clear customer experience matters more than feature count, so we cut features that do not serve the buyer.
Retail and eCommerce is the core. The industries section above also covers healthcare and pharmacies, fintech payments, automotive dealer commerce and media subscriptions, where the same app patterns apply.
Mobile commerce, or mCommerce, is buying and selling through mobile devices: shopping apps, mobile websites, progressive web apps, in-app payments and mobile wallets. Mobile commerce platforms combine a commerce backend with those mobile applications and front ends.
Yes. We build eCommerce platforms and extend existing ones, such as the Rev-A-Shelf move from Magento to Adobe Commerce shown above. An app is only as good as the platform behind it, so we look at both before recommending a build.
Not always. An eCommerce application can be a native mobile app, a progressive web app or the web app that runs the store. We scope the work so one team can build any of them on one commerce backend.
AI personalization, search and chatbots, covered in the AI section above, shape what each shopper sees and how quickly a question gets answered. Push notifications and in-app messages are the main customer engagement channels, and AI decides who gets which message and when, so offers stay relevant instead of noisy.
Not for physical goods. Apple's App Review Guidelines state that if an app enables people to purchase physical goods or services that will be consumed outside of the app, it must use purchase methods other than in-app purchase to collect those payments, such as Apple Pay or traditional credit card entry. Google Play's payments policy likewise says its billing system must not be used where payment is primarily for the purchase or rental of physical goods. Shopping apps therefore take payment through a payment gateway.
Apple's guidelines require every app to include a link to its privacy policy in the App Store Connect metadata field and within the app in an easily accessible manner. Google Play requires all developers with an app published on Google Play to complete the Data safety form, and a privacy policy is required to complete it. We prepare both as part of store submission.
PCI DSS applies to entities that store, process or transmit cardholder data, or could impact its security, and the PCI Security Standards Council describes it as a baseline of technical and operational requirements designed to protect payment account data. Using a compliant payment gateway's SDK keeps most card handling on the provider's side, which narrows what the app and your servers must cover. Your compliance scope is confirmed with your payment provider and assessor.
B2C shopping apps, B2B ordering apps with account pricing and bulk orders, multi-vendor and C2C marketplaces, subscription apps with recurring billing, quick commerce apps built around fast local delivery, and live shopping features that pair product demos with purchase. The type decides the architecture, so we settle it in discovery.
Apple and Google release new mobile operating system versions and update their store policies, and payment SDKs and platform APIs change with them. An eCommerce business that stops updating its app can gradually lose compatibility with new devices and fall behind store requirements. Our post-launch support keeps a roadmap of those updates alongside new features, performance work and security fixes.
A search bar that handles typos and filters, clear product pages, a wishlist and saved cart, a short checkout with multiple payment options, order tracking, and opt-in push notifications. Geolocation features such as store finders and local stock help brands with physical stores, and AR try-on suits products where fit or placement matters. We prioritize the list against your buyers rather than building everything at once.
Data is encrypted in transit, card entry goes through the payment gateway, and access to admin tools is role-based. If you sell to people in the EU, the GDPR may apply to how the app collects and stores their personal data, so consent and deletion flows are designed in from the start rather than added later.
Load testing is part of our testing stage, alongside device and payment tests. Before a big sale we test the checkout path and the integrations behind it at expected peak traffic, then watch performance live during the event as part of post-launch support.
