Ecommerce to Microsoft Dynamics ERP for Cole Haan. Order Management, on Middleware.
/ The engagement
A Middleware Layer Between Shopify and Dynamics.
Cole Haan is a distinguished American footwear brand with a wide range for men and women, plus fashion accessories. Working through the right Microsoft partner, Brainvire used a middleware layer to connect the Shopify store to Microsoft Dynamics ERP, adding a security layer, syncing orders into the ERP, and giving real-time visibility across the process.
/ About the client
Cole Haan, the distinguished American footwear brand, offers an extensive range of footwear for men and women and has earned global acclaim for product quality. It also offers a diverse collection of accessories, and in a recent effort it joined Byrdie Golf Social Wear to launch a limited-edition women's golf collection.
To optimize daily operations and customer satisfaction, the client wanted to align its ecommerce platform with Microsoft Dynamics ERP through the right Microsoft partner. The Shopify store would integrate with the ERP to automate core processes such as inventory management and enable quick, on-time delivery, while a middleware technology added a security layer, synced orders, and gave real-time visibility.
/ The approach
Design, architecture, and features, shipped as one program.
Systems linked
The client used slow, manual processes, so a middleware system links the ecommerce store, Microsoft Dynamics ERP, and the Carriyo system to give real-time data and automate business processes.
Timed by window
Orders were delayed by too little time to count inventory, so a draft-orders method sets a daily time window in which order status moves from draft to booked.
Updated in real time
Prices were changed by hand, so middleware integration updates regular and discounted prices and inventory levels in real time and fully automates the procedure.
Nearest located
Finding the closest warehouse was hard, so an order-orchestration mechanism locates the nearest warehouse with stock and hands the details to Carriyo for on-time fulfillment.
/ What stood in the way
Four problems, solved without a maintenance window.

Slow manual processes
The client was using outdated, manual processes. The team implemented a middleware system to link the client's ecommerce store, Microsoft Dynamics ERP, and Carriyo system, so the client gets real-time data that automates business processes and increases customer satisfaction.
Delays in order fulfillment
Order shipments were delayed by too little time to count inventory against a continuous inflow of fresh orders. The team built a draft-orders method for a set daily window, during which order status changes from draft to booked, so the client counts inventory and fulfills orders efficiently.
Entering data manually
Prices for discounted and original products were modified by hand in the backend. Through middleware integration, the team connected the online store to Microsoft Dynamics ERP, so regular and reduced prices and inventory update in real time and the procedure is fully automated.
Locating the nearby warehouse
Locating the closest warehouse for affordable, efficient delivery was challenging. The team implemented an order-orchestration mechanism, so the middleware locates the closest warehouse with enough inventory and passes the details to Carriyo, which fulfills orders on time.
