Ryan Bartley reposted thisRyan Bartley reposted thisRetail and hospitality leaders are being asked to deliver more elevated, technology-enabled customer experiences, all without introducing disruption, downtime, or long-term cost instability. This can ultimately cause very real tension at the front of house. The new HP Engage One G2 All-in-One is designed exactly for that challenge in mind. It brings together modern, streamlined design with enterprise-grade durability and a long lifecycle. This gives businesses a stable platform they can rely on today and evolve over time, without constant hardware refreshes. This launch reflects how HP is thinking about the Future of Work in retail and hospitality. As frontline environments become more digital and expectations continue to rise, success depends on reducing complexity, while maintaining customer satisfaction. The HPS team is bringing hardware, software, security, and services together into a more connected, intelligent platform that keeps operations resilient while enabling better customer and employee experiences. Incredibly proud of the team for this latest add to the portfolio! https://lnkd.in/gzF72DcD

Used intelligently, AI can make interaction with robots more natural, expressive and elegant, improving the user experience. Keeping human emotions at the center, rather than starting fom the technology, this prototype offers a refreshing and more appealing vision of consumer robots for the home. Hats off to Apple. Ryan Bartley shared thisAI can make Winston Churchill’s demand for brevity a reality. There’s so many great uses of today’s AI tools that are not adopted yet. Let me give you one… If you are a leader in a large company, you inevitably have “business review” meetings - The typical format is a slide deck with +50 pages of densely written words. 2+ hour meetings and you never make it to the end! Before the next meeting, have your chief of staff or the meeting leader use an LLM to rewrite the full deck as a TL;DR memo. The clarity and simplicity will move mountains! #brevity #ai

Ryan Bartley posted thisAI models are being used to improve AI models. Curious if anyone's tossing some automation techniques at that process? Would we get closer to recursive self-improvement aka "AGI takeoff", or a non-event for now? Wonder what's got to be true for the former?

New states coming soon.Ryan Bartley shared thisAdulting just got easier. Every adult knows they should have an estate plan, even if they don’t have an “estate” — but most don’t. We get it: Estate planning can feel like a lot. Deciphering legalese, paying hefty lawyer fees, and wading through paperwork. But what if we told you that you can get an entire estate plan package in under an hour, for thousands less than a lawyer would charge you? Would you be in? Duckpins is the simple, straightforward way to create, execute, and manage life’s most important documents. Our estate plan package is just $349 for Washington residents in January. No legalese, no outrageous fees. Just peace of mind. Try it for free: https://www.duckpins.co/

Ryan Bartley liked thisI used to be the person who translated a visionary leader’s ideas into something a team could build. I listened, asked questions, made the ideas concrete, and helped turn them into decisions, plans and work. I didn’t expect to need someone to do that for me. As a founder, I can see where we’re going so clearly that I sometimes assume everyone else can see it too. Then a conversation with my team reminds me that what feels obvious in my head hasn’t always been said out loud. That gap matters. People can be doing excellent work and still be building toward different versions of the future. So I’m learning to make the vision visible: tell the story, draw the picture, build the prototype, write the document. Invite people to question it. Keep going until they can make decisions from a shared understanding, even when I’m not in the room. Selling the dream isn’t only for investors. A vision becomes powerful when other people can see it clearly enough to make it their own. 💚 💚 💚

Ryan Bartley liked thisRyan Bartley liked thisThere was great energy at our HP Solutions Catalyst events in Chicago and Paris, where leaders from across HP came together to explore how we can bring our technology, software and services capabilities together for customers. In conversation after conversation, I heard our people discussing specific customer challenges and how we can address them across the portfolio. Faisal Masud and I explored how bringing HP Workforce Experience Platform and HP Services together can help customers turn insights into results, simplifying IT operations, improving employee experience and delivering measurable business value. Seeing those connections come to life reinforced my confidence in what we can deliver together. The opportunity now is to bring that same thinking into every customer conversation, starting with the outcomes that matter most to them. Thank you to everyone who joined and contributed. I look forward to seeing our teams put these ideas in action.

Ryan Bartley liked thisRyan Bartley liked thisThe robotics space is overflowing with great demo videos in controlled environments. Today, the space needs an generally intelligent brain any robot can use. A $2,000 robot arm can have the cameras, motors, and precision to fold a shirt—and still do nothing out of the box. Teaching it a task takes specialist work. Moving that knowledge to another robot often means having to start over, unfortunately. So, the robot hardware is essentially ready. But widespread access to the intelligence layer is the bottleneck! At Kindred Ventures, we're big believers that early deployment, fast real-world iteration, and even faster learning loops will provide the high-quality progress we all are hoping to see in robotics and physical AI writ large. That’s why we backed Dream Labs as part of its $90M seed round and I'm joining their board, alongside lead investor B Capital, with A.Capital Ventures, Unusual Ventures, SV Angel, Wing Venture Capital, Scribble Ventures, as well as Thomas Wolf (CTO of Hugging Face), Georges Harik, James Hong, Adrian Aoun, and other angels. The founding team’s bet: robots shouldn’t just recognize the world. They should learn how it changes—and how to act on it. Dream Labs builds World Action Models that learn from video, predict what happens next, and generate the actions to get there. Physical knowledge that transfers across tasks, environments, and robot bodies. A robot that can imagine the next second can act in it. Founders Joel Jang, Yunhao Ge, Scott Reed, and You Liang Tan helped advance this research at NVIDIA and Google DeepMind, across projects including DreamZero, DreamDojo, GR00T, and Gato, and coined the now popular term of “World Action Models”. Now they’re taking it out of the lab and putting it in developers’ hands. → Dream-1 API: camera feed + plain-English instruction → Determine next optimal robot actions; observe, collect data, and learn in closed loops. → Finetuning-as-a-service for new hardware and capabilities. → A browser-based Robot Playground where anyone can command a real robot and watch it respond live. That last part matters. Not just a polished video. A working model you can test yourself. Mistakes included. Our thesis at Kindred: physical AI advances when frontier research meets real-world deployment. More robots. More interactions. More opportunities to learn from what works—and what doesn’t. Dream Labs isn’t building another robot. It’s building the intelligence layer robot makers can plug into. One brain. Many embodiments. Psyched to back this pioneering Dream Labs team. Let’s get robots out of latent space and labs, and get to work and continuously learn out in the real world. Read more about our investment and the awesomeness of Dream Labs in our blog post linked in the comments below. 👇

Ryan Bartley liked thisRyan Bartley liked thisI left a great role at HP, surrounded by incredible people, to join a company most people in my network (including me) had never heard of. The company I joined is Sharp Performance. We give first responders a coach: someone who has walked in their shoes, is in their corner, and sits outside the chain of command. This is the norm for pro athletes, CEOs, and special operators. It should be standard issue for the people who protect our families. What convinced me to join was how chiefs talk about it. A fire chief with three decades on the job calls it the most important thing he's done for his firefighters. A Sheriff's Captain describes his life before Sharp and his life after it. Today we announced an oversubscribed $18M Series A led by Hidden Variable. More than 115 departments. Over 16,000 booked coaching sessions. Details and our new site in the comments.

Most "custom product" platforms stop at a pretty configurator. Operations need the full loop: Authenticate → discover products → prepare assets → create the order → track design, manufacturing, and fulfillment. That's the Toolkit3D Commercial API. Built for multi-tenant reality: • Retailers capture customers, scans, and orders • Brands own catalog and distribution • Manufacturers receive production-ready data • Your OMS / ERP / MES stays in control The design workflow I've been posting this week is one path through it. The API is what makes that path repeatable across every retailer, every brand, and every factory on the other end. If you're integrating scanners, CAD, printers, or factory systems into one personalized-product workflow — comment API and I'll send the quickstart checklist: token → upload → order. #API #DigitalManufacturing #FootwearTech #Orthotics #ProductPersonalization #Toolkit3D

"HP Dimension with Google Beam is the industry's clearest answer to narrowing the gap between virtual and in-person interactions. The groundbreaking collaboration between Google and HP represents a meaningful shift that engineers the end of distance by restoring the depth, nuance, and human‑centric connection that traditional video communication does not deliver," said Roopam Jain, VP of Research at Frost & Sullivan. Aurelio Maruggi nailed the product vision behind HP’s new AI capabilities in this recent TWICE piece: "You won't need to even understand what collating means, or what portrait or landscape means. Fundamentally, you describe in natural language the type of output that you are expecting. The printer will do the rest." For decades, we’ve forced users to navigate drivers, dialogue boxes, and technical jargon just to get an idea onto paper. The burden of complexity belongs on the device, not the user. That is the future of hardware. https://lnkd.in/eyUeKabu #TrueProductGuy #HPProud #ProductManagement #HP #AI #Innovation #CustomerExperience

I will readily admit that I did not expect one of the more intriguing AI shopping experiences I've seen lately to come from HP. Yes, the 87-year-old computer and printer company. I've been covering retail and e-commerce for more than a dozen years, and the promise of truly personalized online shopping has rarely lived up to the hype. But HP is trying something pretty interesting. Its new AI-powered shopping experience lets you describe what you're looking for, by voice or text, and then builds an entirely new version of its website around your specific needs. I know some startups are envisioning similar futures. But I've yet to see many online retailers build an experience like this in-house. I got a demo and then tested it myself. And I came away more intrigued than I expected. There are plenty of improvements to make and some big questions left unanswered. But HP's approach offers a potentially fascinating glimpse into where online shopping could be headed. In this week's edition of The Aisle, I dig into what worked, what didn't, and what big questions still remain. Thanks to HP's head of global digital Roman Olney for the time. https://lnkd.in/eUXvk-vm
