Can anyone attend to MNTC?
High school students can attend programs if they are on track to graduate with their class at their high school and if they meet the minimum requirements for the program they apply to.
High School Applicants must meet the following requirements to be considered for admission:
- Applicants with grades of F, Incomplete, No Credit or Unsatisfactory on their transcripts will not be eligible for admission unless they have retaken or are currently enrolled in those courses, including summer school.
- Applicants currently retaking a course who are accepted will be admitted on the condition that they pass all courses, including those being retaken.
- All applicants must have passed their spring semester courses.
What are the minimum requirements?
If I apply, am I guaranteed admission?
MNTC is a school of choice, and our career programs are competitive. High school juniors and seniors from Norman and Moore Public Schools fill out applications for our programs each year, but with limited class sizes, seating every applicant is a challenge. Because of this, it's important to know that not every student who applies is accepted, even if they meet the qualifications. Testing for reading and math skills may also be required, based on program requirements.
What if I submit my application until after the priority deadline?
How will you contact me?
How will you contact me? You will be contacted by a staff member on the high school interview team. A Technology Center Representative will schedule interviews at your high school during the months of September-December. Your high school counselor will have specific dates available related to your school. If you are sick or plan to be absent from school during the scheduled week of interviews, please contact your Technology Center Representative to reschedule.
What should I expect from the interview?
The interview is a way for our interview team to get to know you and to better understand if the program to which you applied is right for you. This is not a high pressure environment and we want you to feel confident during this process. Please be prepared to talk about your interest in the program, your work ethic and any related experience you may have. Remember, we are on your team, so don’t stress!
Watch this video for interview tips.
When will I know about getting into the program I applied for?
Applicants will be notified on their status near the end of January. You will be emailed a letter of acceptance, alternate list or encouraged to apply again next year. Please ensure we have the correct email address on file and please DO NOT use your school email address. Be sure to check all folders as this email can sometimes be found in junk/spam folders.
I plan to do concurrent enrollment; can I go to MNTC at the same time?
How much does it cost?
High school students do not pay tuition if they are attending while they are in high school. Most supplies needed for your program will also be provided but any dress code requirements will be your financial responsibility. Please refer to the program cost sheets located on the website of every program for more information.
Graduates of Norman or Moore Public Schools can also attend tuition free through the Tuition Assistance program. Please contact Financial Aid for more information on this process.
What if I’m in sports, can I still attend MNTC?
Yes! We have many students who participate in sports & other activities that attend MNTC. Most schools schedule athletics during the last class period of the day so, it is likely that you will need to be placed in a morning class so as to not interfere with practice. Please speak with your high school counselor for more details.
Can I get a job after I complete a MNTC program?
Absolutely! Our goal is to place 100% of our students in the career they have trained in or to see those students attend college. Our Career & College Connection Coordinator can help you get started on the job application process.
