Michael Lenny shared thisI've thoroughly enjoyed the journey with you so far amigo, more to come!Michael Lenny shared thisExcited to share my interview with SD Voyager! If you know me, you might discover a few new things. If you don’t, grab a tiny bag of popcorn and give it a read. 😂 In this interview, I talk about the origins of Zipdev—from playing rugby in Peru with my co-founder Michael (Ive got a couple scars to show for it) to navigating the challenges of building a remote staffing company. We’ve grown from a simple idea into a company connecting US and Canadian businesses with amazing remote talent from Latin America. Our story is equal parts friendship, learning, and perseverance. I also share some fun initiatives we’ve implemented to keep our remote team connected and engaged across 16 countries. Michael Lenny shared thisStop! And Celebrate: A Message to Hard-charging Entrepreneurs 🎉 As business owners, we're often caught up in the pursuit of the next key deal, anticipated product launch, or big goal, but my experience at the Inc 5000 Gala in San Antonio reinforced a powerful reminder for me: We need to pause and celebrate our achievements, big and small 🙌 Hearing Zipdev's name be called out and recognized as one of the fastest-growing companies in the country was a moment of elation, one made sweet by the trials and tribulations we all experience on this entrepreneurial journey. But it wasn't just about recognition for what Daniel Altenburg, myself, and our stellar team have been able to accomplish; it was about sharing the moment with the others in the room who understand the entrepreneurial journey. Michael Lenny liked thisMichael Lenny liked thisRemote work connects us professionally. Moments like these connect us personally. 🇨🇴❤️ Last week, we had the opportunity to bring the Zipdev team together in Cartagena, Colombia, and what an incredible experience it was! One of the interesting things about working remotely is that you can spend months, sometimes even years, working alongside people you've never actually met in person. You share meetings, challenges, wins, and countless conversations through a screen. But then you finally meet, and something amazing happens. It doesn't feel like you're meeting strangers. It feels like you're reconnecting with family. From team activities and yoga sessions to magic shows, great conversations, and plenty of laughs, this retreat reminded me that behind every successful company are people who genuinely care about each other and believe in what they're building together. And that's what I appreciate most about Zipdev. Were all different, coming from different places, with different experiences, but were moving in the same direction, pushing each other to grow and working toward something bigger. Im incredibly grateful to be part of this team, for the friendships we’ve built, the lessons we’ve learned, and the opportunity to keep growing alongside such amazing people. We've accomplished a lot, but I truly believe the best is yet to come. 🚀 Heres to more growth, more wins, and many more moments like these! #Zipdev #RemoteWork #TeamCulture #TeamBuilding #LATAM #CompanyRetreat

Michael Lenny reacted on thisMichael Lenny reacted on thisThere's something about meeting people face-to-face that no Online call can replace. Last week, I had the opportunity to attend HR Tech 2026 in Las Vegas alongside Zipdev's founder, Daniel Altenburg and it was an incredible experience! Being surrounded by so many founders, HR professionals, and industry leaders discussing the future of HR, technology, talent acquisition, and how companies are evolving the way they build their teams was truly inspiring. For us at Zipdev, it was a great opportunity to connect with new people, explore potential partnerships, and meet companies that share our vision of building great teams beyond borders. It's exciting to see how much the industry is evolving and how many opportunities are opening up for talent across Latin America. One of my biggest takeaways from the event is that while technology continues to transform the way we work, business is still built on relationships. Sometimes a simple conversation can open doors you never expected. Grateful for everyone we had the chance to meet and the conversations we shared. Now comes the exciting part: turning those connections into long-term relationships. Looking forward to what's next for Zipdev and hopefully many more events like this! #HRTech2026 #Zipdev #Networking #LATAM #BusinessGrowth

Michael Lenny reacted on thisMichael Lenny reacted on thisBack from the Zipdev retreat and still smiling. 🙌 This was my 5th retreat with this team, and somehow it gets better every single year. When you work remotely, these days together mean a lot. There's nothing like finally meeting new joiners in person and putting faces (and laughs) to the names you see on Google chat every day. And reconnecting with friends you've built real bonds with over the years? That's the best part 💖 Moments like these remind me how lucky I am to work at a place where you're not just a number. At Zipdev, people know your name, your story, and what makes you, you 💜 . You feel seen, heard, and valued, and that makes all the difference. I've learned that loving where you work isn't only about the role or the projects; a huge part of it is the connection you have with the people you work with. When you trust them, laugh with them, and actually enjoy spending time together, showing up every day feels a lot less like work and a lot more like being part of something meaningful. A special thank you to Daniel Altenburg & Michael Lenny, for building a company where people truly come first and for making experiences like this possible year after year. And thank you, Karla Deneken, who made this retreat happen. Here's to many more years together 🥳 ✨ . Already counting down to the next one! 🫶 #Zipdev #RemoteWork #CompanyCulture #TeamRetreat

Michael Lenny reacted on thisMichael Lenny reacted on thisVery few times in life are we lucky enough to meet even a single person who truly changes our life—let alone 18 of them. Today, after spending an incredible week with my teammates in Cartagena on our annual company retreat, I want to take a moment to reflect on our time together and what this experience meant to me. You see, onboarding a new person into a small, tight-knit team is never an easy feat. It requires a rare blend of key ingredients to achieve alignment: matching personalities, exceptional teamwork skills, high adaptability, and perhaps even a little bit of magic to make everything work. I’m extremely happy to report that we seem to have perfected that recipe. Every single person on this team is their own distinct kind of genius. Whether it is their specific field expertise, their excellent people skills, their adaptability, or their technological prowess, everyone brings a unique strength to the table. It is this exact combination of diverse talents that pushes us forward, and without which Zipdev simply could not be what it is today. Thank you, Daniel Altenburg and Michael Lenny, for inviting me to join this adventure three and a half years ago. It’s something I am deeply grateful for every single day, and I could not be prouder to belong to this exceptional team. #zipdev #remotework #teamwork

Michael Lenny liked thisMichael Lenny liked thisBuilding companies taught me to speak. Building teams taught me to listen. When you're building something, it's easy to think leadership means having the answers. Having the vision, making the decisions, giving direction, and knowing what comes next. But the more time I spend around founders, entrepreneurs, and great teams, the more I've realized that some of the best leaders do something completely different: they listen. They listen to the people closest to the problem. They ask questions before giving answers. They're willing to hear that their idea might not be the best one in the room. And most importantly, they create an environment where people actually feel comfortable speaking up. This is something I'm still learning myself. Between my work at Zipdev and building my own businesses, I've realized that leadership isn't about proving that you know more than everyone else. It's about surrounding yourself with great people, giving them a voice, and being willing to learn from them. Sometimes the most important thing you can say as a leader is nothing at all. What's something your team has taught you that changed the way you lead?

SaaS founders hiring a Product Manager always ask us the same thing: will this person actually care about the business, or just do the job? We placed Emma with one of our fintech partners earlier this year, Connect Financials. When we asked what she's most proud of, she didn't talk about a roadmap or a launch. She talked about the trust it takes for a client to hand you their real problems, not just their tickets. That's the thing most hiring processes don't screen for. What separates a good PM from a great one is whether they take ownership of outcomes they didn't have to. It's also the hardest thing to interview for in a 30-45 minute call which is exactly why we built a process around it. Curious what that looks like? Happy to walk you through it: https://lnkd.in/e_g3w642 #ProductManagement #TeamCulture #EngineeringLeadership #LatAmTalent#NearshoreOutsourcing #LatinAmericanTech #Deverr

Curious what nearshore hiring actually saves on engineering talent? Here's a real example. Purecars needed to grow their engineering team fast, but US salaries for these roles were steep: $137K for a Senior Full Stack Developer, $136,984 for a Senior Front End Developer, and $94,900 for a Senior QA Analyst (all including payroll costs, per Glassdoor data). Through Zipdev, those same roles came in at $85K, $75K, and $54,800. That's not a small gap. It's the difference between filling one role or three. Beyond the numbers, Purecars' Director of People pointed to something just as valuable: responsiveness and communication. Fast, engaged talent matters as much as the paycheck. Full breakdown in the case study below.

Seeing this project featured in the press feels extra ✨special ✨ Over the past few months, I got to work closely on Devlane’s Nearshore Savings Calculator, from the first conversations and research all the way through to launch The goal was to create something genuinely useful for technology leaders, a simple way to compare the cost of hiring engineering talent in the U.S. with building a team in Latin America, based on the roles and seniority levels they need It was one of those projects I got really involved in, so seeing it out there, being used and now featured in the press is pretty excitingg 😁 Read the article here: https://lnkd.in/dkEqrSiT

I paid a visit Simon Bosch, who runs WillDom Barcelona, and we compared notes on AI work across our European and American clients. A lot of teams feel pressure to “do something with AI,” and many still cannot show, in numbers, what is working. AI without measurement turns into theater. When we meet teams in that spot, we start with the business setup before the model and the PoC. We ask what problem they want to solve, how they measure it today, and what a “valuable improvement” looks like in numbers. Our main approach is how to bring tangible results in a specific timeframe. One client asked for an “AI assistant for operations.” We dug in and found the main issue was cycle time and rework in one process. We mapped the workflow, set a baseline, and tracked impact weekly. They saw what worked, what did not, and where to put time and budget next. If you feel pressure to “do something with AI” and you do not have a clear way to measure impact yet, DM me. Happy to compare notes. #WillDom #AI #DataAnalytics #DigitalTransformation #Nearshore

There is A LOT of work and preparation behind every virtual knowledge-sharing event organized by our People Ops and Growth teams. Today we had another Devsu Lab. 🤓 Beyond confirming how insightful it always is to listen to Felipe Cornejo and Alvaro Lopez talk about software modernization processes - which turns out to be a less technical conversation than one might expect - I also want to recognize the great hosts we have in Diana Boggio and Maria A. What a great job! And a good event depends as much on its hosts as it does on its participants.😌 Here's to the teams that help create an empathetic, curious, and constructive environment. Thank you, Miguel Rosa and Pedro Guerrero. Seeing you at one of our Labs is usually a guarantee of an engaged, active audience. 🙌
