Maren Hogan shared thisI've written a whole slew of articles, opinions and snark around marketing leading the charge in process before it begins impacting the world of HR but today, we need to talk about HR Tech being the canary in the coal mine, because they're getting raked across the coals (see what I did there?) for stuff marketing and other depts are still mostly allowed to get away with. (Title is a misnomer because that line rules and I am still cool.)I got 99 problems and too many leads ain't one.I got 99 problems and too many leads ain't one.Maren Hogan

Maren Hogan shared thisCalifornia signed two workplace AI laws on September 30: SB 947, the No Robo Bosses Act, bars employers from relying only on an automated decision system to discipline or fire someone. SB 951 makes employers disclose when AI or automation caused a mass layoff covered by Cal-WARN, the state's 60-day layoff notice law. For two years, companies have named AI as the reason for cuts on earnings calls and kept it vague in the actual notices. This makes them name the job functions being automated and the type of technology responsible (well, at least in CA.) The state will also publish quarterly summaries. "AI-driven restructuring" becomes a public record anyone can track. The evidence. SB 951 starts January 1, 2027. Employers must disclose the affected job classifications, locations, automated job functions and technology type, and the state employment department publishes quarterly displacement data. SB 947 starts July 1, 2027. A human must check any automated output used to discipline or fire someone, and the employee gets written notice. The law also directs the state to study AI's effect on hiring. For HR tech clients this is a product-marketing moment, not a compliance footnote. "Can your platform produce the audit trail SB 947 requires?" is a question California buyers will be asking by Q1.

Maren Hogan posted thisWell, well, well… Stanford University's Digital Economy Lab plus ADP payroll data (4.6M workers) show employment for 22-25 year olds in AI-exposed roles down ~13% since ChatGPT, while older workers held flat. Late-July Fortune coverage argues it "is not going away," and a second cut shows Gen Z women losing ground faster than men. Young software developers: nearly 20% annual shrinkage. I'm telling you, employers are gonna be paying through the nose to get these people back and to fix their employer brand when all this pixie dust has settled. Good news for #HRTech, really bad news for the next generation of workers, especially in the middle of a recession.

Maren Hogan shared thisIf you read a follow-up email, decide it "sounds like AI," and throw out the strategy, the research, the diagnosis, and the years of relationship that got me in the room, you didn't evaluate the work. You evaluated the font. I'd rather be honest about my tools and rigorous about my thinking than perform authenticity while quietly doing the same thing I'm being honest about. Judge the thinking. Does the diagnosis hold up? Are the observations right? Is the strategy built for where you are? That's the work. The rest is keyboard. Maren Hogan liked thisMaren Hogan liked thisI've lost count of how many industry events I've been to over the span of my career. But I'll never forget the very first I attended: ERE's Recruiting Innovation Summit in Mountainview in 2011. Sarah White picked me up from the airport, and we went to In-N-Out Burger. I remember a pitchfest they ran at the conference, when swiping right was the new thing--and social recruiting was all the rage. It was the first time I realized just how dynamic and interesting this industry is, and I credit the event for setting me on the path that's led me here today. Now, after a decade and a half--and several roles spanning research and advisory, talent transformation and leadership, and talent tech strategy--I'm thrilled to be partnering with David Manaster on two fronts for this year's RIS: First, we're hosting an invite-only executive forum for talent leaders. The half-day workshop will explore the obstacles and opportunities we face in building and maintaining meaningful AI momentum. It's based on research we've done here at Kyle & Co and I couldn't be more excited to put it in the hands of ERE's executive audience. Second, I'll be opening this year's conference with my first-ever ERE keynote session, "Motion Isn’t Momentum: Where AI Is Taking Talent Acquisition." We'll draw directly from insights gleaned from our workshop--as well as 5 years worth of research on adoption trends and best practices--to chart a course forward for my favorite corner of HCM. I hope you can make it! The workshop is free for invited participants, and I can offer a discount code to the conference for anyone who wants to join. https://lnkd.in/g7qKibtJ

Maren Hogan liked this#HRTech starts Tuesday! If you run marketing for an HR tech company, the next two weeks are super important 🛫 5 things to do before you head to Vegas: 1️⃣ Book meetings ahead of time! Email your customers and warm prospects today with one specific reason to stop by. A new feature, a quick demo, a coffee. Booked meetings beat foot traffic every time. 2️⃣ Pick the one sentence you want people to remember. Half the floor will say “AI agent” and “defensible.” Say what your product takes off someone’s plate and what a human still owns. 3️⃣ Give your booth team a simple script. “What are you trying to fix this year?” and “Who else is involved in that decision?” Those two answers tell you who’s worth following up with. 4️⃣ Have a real next step ready. A trial, a pilot, a working session with your team. Something with a date on it, not “we’ll be in touch.” 5️⃣ Write your follow-up emails now. Draft them by conversation type: customer, hot prospect, early-stage, partner. You will not have the energy to write them Thursday night, trust! Reach out if you need any support, ideas, or want to chat through how we've supported clients during, pre-, and post-conference. Enjoy the conference! 🙌Maren Hogan liked thisNext week, HR Tech 2026 opens in Las Vegas. Your agenda matters, but so do the conversations waiting on the show floor. The expo is where you can compare solutions, discover new products, ask smarter questions and connect directly with the teams building what’s next in HR technology. Before you arrive, browse the exhibitor list and plan which solution providers to visit, so you spend less time searching and more time in valuable conversations onsite. Stand Out From Competitors With Benefits Like These

Denver Website Designs

How Long Does a Custom Website Take to Build With DWD?: Planning a new website for your Denver business? Chances are your first question is, "How long will it take?" At Denver Website Designs, we hear this every week. Whether you're looking to launch before the year wraps up or just want a fresh start for 2025, knowing the custom website timeline in Denver helps you plan ahead and keep your marketing on track. Here, we'll break down the questions we get most about the website design process—so you can set clear expectations and decide what fits your business. How long does it take to build a custom website with DWD? Most small and midsize Denver businesses see their websites go live in about 8–12 weeks from our kickoff call. Timing depends on the project's size, how quickly you provide feedback, and whether your content is ready to go. If you need advanced features or e-commerce, add a few more weeks. Thinking of a website launch before year end? Kicking things off in October gives everyone enough time to get it done—without any last-minute stress. What are the main stages of the website design process? We keep things simple and clear. Here's how DWD handles each project: Consultation & Discovery: We get to know your business, your goals, and what style fits you best. Design: Wireframes and mockups come next. You'll have the chance to review and sign off. Content: Bring your own text and images, or let us help develop them together. Development: We build your site on our secure Omnia platform and add any features you need. Watch our platform videos. SEO Setup: We handle site structure and on-page SEO so you can get found on Google. Launch: We test, train, and make your website live. Contact us to get started. Every step has checkpoints for your review, so you're always in the loop. What factors can speed up or delay our website launch? The main things that affect your launch date are: Content readiness: If you have your text and images sorted, the process moves quicker. Feedback speed: Fast responses at each step help keep things moving. Project complexity: More features or custom functions will add to the timeline. Change requests: New ideas after we've started can push the schedule out. We'll go over all of this in our first meeting to set a practical schedule. Why is October a good time to start for a year-end or New Year launch? Starting in October gives you a comfortable 8–12 weeks before December ends. Here's why that matters: You miss the holiday rush, which can get hectic fast. You'll have space to give feedback without feeling hurried. Your new website is up and running for the New Year or a busy Q1. If you wait until later, we might still make a pre-holiday launch happen, but decisions and content delivery will need to move fast. What happens if I need to launch even faster? Need your site live yesterday? We offer accelerated packages for urgent projects.…

When Colorado service businesses expand to new locations, their backlinks often work against each other instead of multiplying their reach. 🔗 Our team audits multi-location clients across the Denver metro and consistently finds the same pattern: a strong backlink pointing to the parent domain or main service page inadvertently suppresses rankings for location-specific pages. A HVAC contractor with solid backlinks to their "HVAC services" page will struggle to rank their Aurora location page, even though both pages deserve visibility. The fix isn't about earning more backlinks. It's about distributing them strategically across your geography. When a local news outlet links to you, that link should point to your Aurora page, not your corporate homepage. When a regional directory lists you, the anchor text matters: "Denver HVAC" for your main location, "Aurora HVAC services" for your expansion territory. This distribution principle compounds as you grow. Each new location becomes a separate ranking entity with its own backlink velocity and topical relevance. Without it, you're forcing all locations to compete for authority that should be divided and localized. We help Colorado agencies and service businesses architect this backlink geography so expansion strengthens every market instead of cannibalizing the ones you already own. 📍 #LocalSEO #MultiLocationSEO #ColoradoGrowth #BacklinkStrategy #GEO We go deeper here: https://lnkd.in/gBv-S_MR
