Hi Jack. The tools are similar! By the time we heard about AWS SSO, we were already testing out aws-oidc and integrating it into our organization.
There's one thing I didn't mention in the post: we use Terraform extensively. That missing Terraform - AWS SSO integration would have been a blocker for us.

Annie K. reacted on thisAnnie K. reacted on thisI'm so excited to share that I successfully defended my PhD last month and graduated from Stanford University a few days ago! I'm also thrilled to share that I will be starting medical school at the Stanford University School of Medicine in a few months! It has been a great honor and privilege to pursue my PhD in Materials Science and Engineering at Stanford, advised by Prof. Eric Pop, whose guidance and support have shaped my growth as a researcher. I’m also grateful for an incredible community of mentors, collaborators, friends, and family, and especially to Prof. Paul Nuyujukian for his mentorship and for showing me what the intersection of engineering and medicine can look like. As I look ahead to beginning my MD at Stanford, I’m excited to continue exploring the possibilities that emerge at the interface of engineering and medicine, and how they can meaningfully improve patient care. Many thanks to the mentors who have guided and inspired me from my undergraduate years through graduate school (Jiwoong Park, Paul McEuen, Sihong Wang, Stuart Coulson, Chitra Venkatasubramanian, Cynthia Basa). Finally, I would not be here today without the love and sacrifices of my family. It is truly on their shoulders that I stand.

Annie K. reacted on thisAnnie K. reacted on thisStarting in January 2027, I’ll be joining Worcester Polytechnic Institute as an Assistant Professor in the Biomedical Engineering and Robotics Engineering departments. My research group will focus on human mobility and assistive technology, working at the intersection of biomechanics, wearable robotics, and motor control to better understand how people move and to design human-centered systems that augment mobility. I’ll be presenting at the World Congress of Biomechanics in Vancouver on July 12th, 10:30-11:30 (P1-105). Annie K. reacted on thisAnnie K. reacted on thisAfter an incredible seven and a half years at CZI, I've made the decision to take a long-overdue professional break, with today being my last day (May 29th). I'm looking forward to spending quality time with my family and traveling the world, along with a planned hiking trip in the Swiss Alps with my dad this summer⛰️. This time off is a meaningful opportunity, and I feel fortunate to be able to take it. I am immensely proud of the central role my team has played in CZI's mission. Together we've been able to accomplish so much, just a few highlights: - Launched CZI's first AI Training cluster for building foundational biological models and built out the team to support the AI researchers. - Fundamentally improving our security posture (rolled out org wide SIEM, trusted devices, and threat modeling for AI Bio models) - Helped launch many products across education and science including (Along.org, Build with Render, Virtual Cell Platform, CZID, among others); and most recently our launch of the world model of protein biology! I will be staying on in an advisor capacity for a bit longer to help find a new leader and help with the transition, but looking to connect with folks before I start my travels. I'd like to thank David Recordon for the opportunity. Sandra Liu Huang and Alexander Fridman for supporting me and my career through all these years. My amazing cross functional partners like Yu "Sandy" Yao, Mark Kim, Frank Wasilewski, CPA, MBA, and many more. Most of all, Mark Zuckerberg and Priscilla Chan for creating the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative and making it possible for us to do what we do. Best of luck to all my coworkers at CZI, Biohub and Learning Commons. I'll be cheering you on and cannot wait to see you all deliver life changing technology.

Non-human identities outnumber humans in most cloud environments. And increasingly, they're not just service accounts. They're AI agents assuming roles, calling APIs, and chaining actions across services. When something goes wrong, the audit log tells you what credential acted, not why. No one owns these identities cleanly. Access reviews get rubber-stamped because no one can explain what they're even supposed to do. And when a single agent can initiate, approve, and execute a change, accountability gets blurry fast. If you're going to be there, come find us. (Philip Krim Evan Caron Sharo Atmeh Michael DeLucia Kirk Hourdajian Amber Greenberg Matt Bisgyer Mahsa Nami Elisabeth Iszauk) Also, for those of you who didn't know I was in school full-time while at Montauk over the last 9 months…surprise! To classmates and friends: I have learned so much from every one of you and am so grateful for your contributions to my growth — as well as your patience as I juggled school, work, The MBA Fund, Center City Ventures, and more. What a blessing to have spent a portion of this little life in community with all of you. To my parents: I am grateful for the unfair advantages you have built for me. While you watched me walk across the stage at graduation in Philadelphia and we had a nice dinner in the city after, I know that there was a time when you were my age and couldn’t even afford to park in Philly when you drove in for Chinese food, and had to drive all the way back home to Hershey, PA. This degree is ultimately less about me and more about your achievement of building a life of access and opportunity for generations to come. Our paid customer in the UK is proceeding to the next stage after successful validation of RideScan AI technology at a controlled site, on a top US robot, last month. As a team, we have learned a lot from both our mistakes and our successes, and we are excited to iterate faster in the next phase of deployment. My confidence in RideScan’s technology for independent monitoring of complex mobile autonomous robots and its potential to scale across different verticals is increasing every day. Annie K. reacted on thisAn update: I’ve decided to pursue a PhD in Political Science at The Ohio State University starting this fall! For many who knew me, this was not the path I thought I would pursue after my time at University of Chicago - Committee on International Relations wrapped up, but I have had such a blast learning and growing as a student and scholar of international relations — so doing this for many more years at the doctoral level made sense! I’m particularly grateful for the many professors and fellow graduate students here at UChicago that have supported me through every step of this process. I am also indebted to my communities in DC and at Wellesley for their time and assistance as I traverse from policy to academia. Go Buckeyes!

Annie K. liked thisAnnie K. liked this💯NeurIPS’25 was NeurIPS: full of ideas — and old friends💯 This year, I attended NeurIPS as a Senior Area Chair and session chair, with two workshop papers, but my main goal was to observe trends. After a year in Silicon Valley, where LLMs and agents dominate almost every conversation, I was positively surprised to see that diffusion models remain strong, and that many researchers are seriously trying to understand the “why” behind AI failures. That feels like a very healthy sign for the field. 📌 My favorite talk was on memorization in diffusion models (https://lnkd.in/gcR-Cjii) by Tony Bonnaire. The presentation was outstanding — full of insights and with striking conclusions (no surprise it received the Best Paper Award). For me, as someone working on generative AI, the main takeaway — not explicitly stated in the talk — was this: You can train a diffusion model long enough that it effectively memorizes the training data. Population-based metrics like FID will look excellent, yet the model may have learned very little about the underlying data distribution. In some sense, we are back to square one. Does this mean we should postpone AGI by another two years? I don't know, but this kind of work is exactly what we need right now. 🤩 NeurIPS is also a fantastic opportunity to meet friends, colleagues, and collaborators. This year, it took me almost an hour to walk from one booth to another — a distance that should have taken three minutes. That says it all. It was great seeing so many of you!
