Kevin Hartz reposted thisKevin Hartz reposted thisIn 1887, railroad executive Marshall Monroe Kirkman published a manual on buying supplies at scale. The storekeeper, the purchasing agent, the inspector checking what arrived against what was ordered. Much of that work would look familiar inside a large enterprise today. SAP, Ariba, and Coupa digitized the paperwork. But when an invoice doesn’t match its purchase order, a shipment arrives short or a supplier emails at 7 p.m. on Friday to reroute an order, someone still has to figure out what happened and fix it. Across large enterprises, internal and outsourced teams spend their days piecing together information and carrying resolutions from one system to the next. This is the hidden operating cost of the physical economy. We started Fragment to do that work. And today, we’re launching with $56 million in funding, including a Series A led by 8VC and a seed co-led by General Catalyst and A*, with angels including Roelof Botha, Nikesh Arora and Jeff Wilke. Our Autonomous Context Engine connects structured, semistructured, and unstructured data with company policies and institutional knowledge. Our agents use that context to investigate discrepancies and carry out authorized resolutions across the systems companies already use. For me, this is core to who I am. I grew up in a manufacturing family, moving from England to Phoenix to Shanghai to Pittsburgh. I’ve been around the complexity of keeping these businesses running my whole life. That experience shaped our conviction that the opportunity in procurement is far bigger than selling software. Companies still devote enormous time and expertise to resolving work their systems leave unfinished. We’re building software to take on that coordination, giving procurement teams more capacity to secure supply, protect margins and help the business grow. I’m grateful to our investors, our customers, my cofounder Naveen Kashyap, and the team building this with us. Procurement is where we're starting, but our ambition is much bigger. Kevin Hartz reposted thisKevin Hartz reposted this🚨 Physical AI Daily: Sequoia Capital, NVIDIA and Microsoft are putting $60M behind a company teaching robots how to move. Meet Mecka! The Toronto and New York based startup has just raised $60 million in Series B funding to expand its robotics data and deployment platform. And the investor list is worth a look: Sequoia Capital, NVIDIA, Microsoft’s venture arm, Qualcomm Ventures and Samsung. Mecka collects real-world human movement data using body sensors and iPhones, turning everyday physical tasks into training data for robots. Think kitchens, chemistry labs, metal fabrication workshops and more. A few numbers that caught my attention: ◻️ $60M in fresh Series B funding ◻️ ~$500M reported valuation ◻️ $100M+ run-rate reached in June, according to Mecka ◻️ $300M run-rate target by year-end Theres a reason investors are paying attention to robotics data. You cant simply scrape the internet for everything a robot needs to learn about operating in the physical world. #PhysicalAI #Robotics #Humanoids #DeepTech | 11VC | The Physical Ai Expo | Victor Cruz Josh Gao, Eric Lok, Duy Nguyen, Jason Chong, Mogen Cheng

Kevin Hartz shared thisExcited to double down on our partnership with Watney! Since co-leading their seed round last January, we’ve watched the company grow from two founders testing robots in a Berkeley strawberry field into a team deploying autonomous systems in some of the world’s most demanding environments. More on our partnership with Watney here: https://lnkd.in/gEP3zbzpKevin Hartz shared thisWe’ve raised $80 million in Series A funding, co-led by the Valor Atreides AI Fund and Hummingbird Ventures, with continued participation from Conviction, Abstract, A* and Grant Gordon. This brings our total raised to over $100 million. We started Watney by asking a simple question -- what can a robot enable in industries where the work remains valuable on an infinite horizon? We found an answer in the fundamental inputs to civilization: energy, matter, and intelligence. A robot will never be as charming as a barista or as personable as a housekeeper, but it can be more exacting than a surgeon. And, a breakthrough in one quickly becomes the capability of millions. We don’t imitate human motions or processes. We care about the new, differentiated capabilities robots can unlock. We work on problems where our choice of embodiment gives us an order of magnitude advantage, whether through precision, reliability, or scale. Compute is just beginning to transform society, but it’s constrained by execution. Since 2025, Watney has been serving the largest hyperscalers in the world, helping accelerate their compute rollout through an end-to-end deployment model. Across hundreds of thousands of hours in customer facilities, our systems have achieved more than four nines of reliability. They’ve enabled our customers to build data centers faster, at larger scales, and with more ambitious architectures. Today, we operate the largest fleet of dexterous robots running 24/7/365 across the United States. This is all to say, it's an exciting time at Watney. We’re all here because we want to see more ambition in the physical world. We are hiring across all domains. Join us.

Come build with us!Kevin Hartz reposted thisToday, we’re announcing Antioch's $32 million Series A, led by Greylock Partners with participation from A*, Category Ventures, BoxGroup, Icehouse Ventures, and angels. While AI has drastically accelerated software development, physical autonomy has been constrained by slow, expensive hardware-based development. Antioch enables physical AI teams to build, test, and validate systems at the speed of software. We’re proud to be working with leading teams including Amazon Ring, NVIDIA Robotics, and Nebius as we make scaled, high-fidelity simulation the standard for physical AI development. Our sincere thanks to the legion of investors, customers, partners, and advisors who are making this step change possible. We’re scaling rapidly and hiring across simulation, infrastructure, machine learning, 3D graphics, go-to-market, and operations.

Kevin Hartz liked thisKevin Hartz liked thisTwo robotics startups raised $30M and $150M this week to teach robots touch. Eka Robotics raised a $150M Series A at a $1.45B valuation. Its product is a 👓 vision-force-action model for dexterous robots. The same week, Swiss startup #EnactIntelligence came out of stealth with a $30M pre-seed for force-and-touch robot intelligence. 💥 My take: two big rounds pointing at touch is a signal about where the real gap is. Cameras and language models got robots to find the part. Inserting it, tightening it or sanding a wall needs force control, and that is where many demos fall apart outside the lab. As a mechanical engineer I find this reasonable. Contact is hard physics. Friction, compliance and tolerances do not forgive a model that is only roughly right. The limits are also clear. A valuation is not a production line. The news gives us funding and a technical direction, not cycle times, error rates or cost per task. If you plan to put a robot into assembly, ask the vendor one thing: how does it behave when the part is not exactly where it should be? What is the first contact-heavy task you would trust a robot with? #PhysicalAI #Robotics #Manufacturing #IndustrialAutomation

Kevin Hartz liked thisKevin Hartz liked thisMORE IS POSSIBLE. I believe that today more than ever. I've seen what AI can do firsthand. And I genuinely believe AI will transform our lives for the better. But through countless conversations with business leaders, I've come to recognize a growing problem: AI is moving faster than our ability to put it to work. We're all getting pretty good at using AI generally. But getting AI to actually do meaningful work, reliably, is much much harder. AI has made it easier than ever to build something. But building something that actually works at scale, integrates into your business, and delivers measurable results? That still takes specialized talent, proven processes, and hard won experience. That's why today, I'm incredibly proud to announce the launch of Terminal AI and our acquisition of Stationed AI! 🚀 Welcome, Ja'dan Johnson and team to Terminal!!! We're bringing together an incredible team of forward-deployed engineers and AI builders who work alongside businesses to solve their biggest challenges and build AI solutions that actually get the work done. For years, we've helped companies build world-class engineering teams at Terminal. This is a natural evolution of that mission, leveraging our deep roots in tech talent scaling with frontier AI deployment expertise. This will make the extraordinary potential of AI accessible to far more businesses, especially those without massive engineering teams or AI budgets. I'm incredibly proud of our team and grateful to our early customers who've put their trust in us. This is Day 1 for Terminal AI. The promise of AI has always been about MORE. More time. More creativity. More productivity. More growth. You want more. You deserve more. NOW, MORE IS POSSIBLE. 🎬 Check out our video where we tried to capture the "why" behind Terminal AI. I hope it resonates. I'll also add my announcement post below 🙌 LETS GO!!!

Kevin Hartz liked thisKevin Hartz liked thisWe’ve spent the past year developing new primitives for GPUs. We believe this enables new algorithms to change how machines learn, open new markets, and dramatically reshape AI’s cost structure. We have raised $1 billion for our Series A, co-led by Index Ventures and Lux Capital. We’ve developed the world’s most complete megakernel framework. It can perform entire training runs, serve inference, play video games, and even do all three simultaneously in a single kernel. Our systems work makes training & inference cheaper—but it also makes GPUs more expressive. The same framework that allows us to overlap memory-bound inference with compute-bound training also enables odd architectures, objectives, and optimizers. Our mission is to unlock new markets in AI, including robotics, scientific discovery, and more, by pioneering radical new techniques to improve efficiency. We imagine a world where models can be intelligent without ingesting half the internet. We have barely scratched the surface of GPUs, and we think GPUs are more flexible and valuable than most believe. Internally, we already see evidence of this at trillion-parameter pretraining scale. If we are right, this will drive substantially more demand for AI. If you are interested in helping us abuse GPUs in new and exciting ways, please reach out. We are tremendously grateful for support from Nova Global, Sequoia Capital, Valor Capital Group, Atreides Management, LP, Kleiner Perkins, Fundomo, Bain Capital Ventures (BCV), GV (Google Ventures), Hummingbird Ventures, HOF Capital, Absolute Ventures, A*, CRV, Definition, Seven Stars, Genesis, Jump Trading, XTX Ventures, Snowy Leopard, NVIDIA, and more, including Steven A. Kevin Hartz liked thisKevin Hartz liked thisI am excited to announce that Sequoia Capital has recently led our $200M Series D round of funding, at a $5.1B valuation, with Shopify Ventures participating alongside. This round marks our second fundraise this year following an announcement of a $200M strategic investment from Tether at a $1.6B valuation in February 2026. Perhaps more exciting, legendary silicon valley investor Douglas Leone is joining our board of directors. The Sequoia Capital team is filled with people who know how to win. I have gotten to know Pat Grady and Brian Halligan over the last several years and more recently Theresa L.. I have had nothing but tremendous experiences with their entire team. My co-founder Cameron and I started building on Shopify when we were 13 years old. Shopify is one of the most impactful platforms ever created; Tobias Lütke has pioneered modern entrepreneurship the way we know it and we are thrilled to have him in our corner. Tian Tian Feng and the broader Shopify team are very special; we have a lot to learn from their multi decade track record of A+ execution. We have grown massively since first launching 5 years ago in 2021. We first launched a way to make it easier for us to sell desktop software we were building. The desktop software started in one of the most niche markets possible, called sneaker bots. Today, Whop powers more than 25,000 small and medium size businesses across the world in more than 180 countries. We have superior stablecoin wallet infrastructure that allows for global, fast, and cost effective money movement. We offer a gamified advertising and trading portal that allows lean teams to invest in outcomes. We now have 70,000 unique markets making up more than $7B in annual earnings for our userbase. The fastest growing market on our platform is AI business automation, where 100+ unique businesses serviced over 12,000 unique customers for a total of $20M in the last month alone. Home service businesses like plumbing and roof repair are now generating 10s of millions of dollars per month on Whop. Hundreds of millions of dollars are now spent annually on Whop Advertising and $300M+ on Visa issued debit cards. Pet supplies, private air travel, tree removal services. UGC marketplaces, accounts payable platforms for truckers, matchmaking and more have a dense presence on Whop. We believe there is another obvious 100x in sight. Work is fundamentally changing and AI is calling traditional career paths into question. Entry level job opportunities are at an all time low. For a generation starting in a hole, Whop is a way for individuals to own their economic futures. The $200M raised will support our expansion as we build economic infrastructure for the next century, continuing on our mission of delivering everyone an income. https://lnkd.in/guJnath2Whop's Sequoia-Led Funding Pushes Its Value to $5.1 BillionWhop's Sequoia-Led Funding Pushes Its Value to $5.1 Billion

Email basically hasn't changed since 1982. It's the only category of consumer software that hasn’t been redesigned around the user. Every day, 5 billion people open up a to-do list dictated by senders and marketers rather than their own priorities. Extra from BuildForever fixes that. It’s your life, organized into the themes and projects that matter to you. Newsletters as a browseable newspaper. Marketing emails as a visual shopping feed. Event invites straight into a calendar view. Beta users nearly tripled the time spent in their inbox, because for once, they actually wanted to be there. Wispr Flow is tackling one of the most ambitious challenges in technology today: reimagining the primary interface between humans and machines. I’m thrilled that alongside my colleague Chelcie Taylor, who has gone deep in voice AI, we at Notable Capital lead their $25M Series A Extension, and I am joining their board as an observer. The best products like Slack and TikTok feel effortless and slick, but look under the hood and they’re powered by cutting edge technology. Tanay Kothari and Sahaj Garg, dorm mates at Stanford, have built an exceptional product backed by advanced research and the very best technology in voice. And the coolest thing is that Wispr Flow is multi-lingual from Day 1. I first met Tanay nearly a decade ago as a Stanford alum on campus, when he was a freshman. Fast forward to today and Wispr is building the foundation for a new generation of AI-driven interfaces around voice. Voice is no longer just a feature but the entry point to new user experiences and an emerging OS. It is also incredibly inclusive as Wispr Flow democratizes access to speed and automation to non English speakers and English speakers w accents. We’re proud to partner with them on this uplifting mission. Our team loved collaborating with the Wispr team on producing this video to celebrate this milestone. You can read more about why we invested on the Notable Capital Blog (link in the comments).

We’ve reviewed thousands of events for SF/LA Tech Week (Oct. 5–18), and the biggest shift we’re seeing is that the conversation is no longer about what AI is going to do. This year, it’s about: - People showing what’s already running and how they’re getting agents into production. -Physical AI breaking out, with robot demos, hardware expos, and factory tours. -Deep tech becoming one of the largest tracks in both SF and LA, spanning biotech, robotics, silicon, and space. -Enterprise showing up in a big way with multi-city series, technical roundtables, executive dinners, panels, workshops, and hackathons. And so much more! What types of events are you most excited to attend?
