Gary D. Soto shared thisExciting news! Gary D. Soto Consulting, Inc. has partnered with MavenXai to support the national expansion of our educational consulting services, with future aspirations of serving schools throughout Canada and Puerto Rico as well. I am thrilled to collaborate with a team that shares a commitment to innovation, growth, and impact. Together, we will work to bring proven, evidence-based strategies to more educators and school systems across North America. Our mission remains unchanged: helping schools dramatically improve student achievement and addressing the literacy crisis that continues to affect far too many children. When only a fraction of students are reading proficiently, the work is too important to stand still. I am excited about what lies ahead and grateful for the opportunity to expand our impact on behalf of students, teachers, and school leaders everywhere.

Gary D. Soto shared thisMany ask how I support school districts to accelerate student learning. Significant increases will happen when educators are serious about implementing key actions. The bottom line is that high effect size strategies and programs need to go through a rigorous comprehensive coaching process, and administration MUST hold adults accountable to implement these actions to the highest standard. Providing explicit feedback is a must other wise the power of your intention fades quickly. I want to partner with educators who are willing to roll up their sleeves and do what's right. WHAT you EXPECT is WHAT you GET!

Gary D. Soto reposted thisUnlocking Student Achievement: Proven Leadership Support for Schools For over 30 years, districts across the nation have turned to me to help schools break through achievement plateaus in reading and math. The challenge is clear: too often, student progress stalls because of gaps in instructional leadership or inconsistent implementation of key strategies. That’s why districts are now taking a proactive approach—partnering with me to strengthen their top principals and site leaders while helping schools move from 50% proficiency to 70% and higher. With 51 years in education and over 35 years of national consulting experience, I deliver results that accelerate student learning and close achievement gaps. Districts I work with consistently see measurable gains that prepare their schools for long-term success. At a time when American education is in crisis, strong leadership isn’t optional—it’s essential. Together, we can ensure that every school in your district meets the academic needs of all students. #schooladministrators, #schoolboards, #superintendents, #schoolreform, #principals, #leaders, #systemchange, #studentachievement, #closetheachievementgap #leadershipcoaching, #thescienceofreading, #letrs

Gary D. Soto shared thisIt amazes me how many school leaders do not know that their schools must foster Collective and Self-Efficacy in order to accelerate student academic growth. Collective Efficacy is NOT just another thing.

Kessler has led legislative, political, and administrative advocacy efforts for Equality California and has advanced some of the nation’s most comprehensive civil rights protections for LGBTQ+ individuals. 🏳🌈 We discussed her time at University of California, Davis Law, her path into legislative advocacy, and her leadership advancing LGBTQ+ civil rights. 💬 Her reflection on her career path and the impact of her work? "By allowing myself to dive into the things I cared about, other great opportunities followed because the work was meaningful to me personally. When I look back at my work with Equality California, I feel that I did something greater than myself that mattered and impacted many people," she says. It is past time for us to organize around results for all students. We have had answers for decades and have ignored them. Schools continue to prepare our students for a past that no longer exists. We have ignored the research, and we have ignored the future our students will face when they leave school. We must shed the archaic, Industrial Age assumptions and structures that are preventing sustainable reforms. We have titled this book Crimes Against Learning because students are held captive in school for thirteen years. They have little choice in setting the expectations adults have of them. They have little choice in the education opportunities they receive. Students are victims of a system that may not prepare them for a life of economic self-sufficiency. And, they have no means of escape. Given the results, far too many students are being channeled into a life of poverty and disappointment. In the end, the vast majority of students are either victims or survivors of the schools they attend. Is it not a crime of negligence or even a crime of intent if we know what we can do to ensure that all students succeed, but we don’t act?

Our latest California Library Association Ursula Meyer Library Advocacy Training workshop featured a dynamic, highly-interactive session with Pasadena Department of Libraries & Information Services Director Tim McDonald and CLA Interim Executive Director Robert Karatsu on the topic of raising funds for libraries through ballot initiatives. The archived recording (along with 38 other library-advocacy training sessions) is available on the California Library Association YouTube channel: https://lnkd.in/gydTWeJg Hope you will view and share it with others who will benefit from the training/learning opportunities this project is providing for anyone involved with and/or supportive of advocacy for libraries and the communities they serve.
