Brett Kopf liked thisBrett Kopf liked thisToday, we’re launching AutoCreate: our AI-powered tool that turns your athletic schedule into graphics ✨ Athletic directors know it matters to promote their programs and student-athletes. But creating graphics is just one of dozens of responsibilities competing for an extremely limited amount of time. Before Gipper, creating a game-day graphic meant designing from a blank canvas, manually entering event information, googling for opponent logos, updating colors, moving everything around until it looked right, downloading it, uploading it to social, and writing the caption. Then doing it all over again for the next game. For most athletic directors, especially at the high school level, doing that consistently simply wasn’t realistic. Gipper made it dramatically easier. Today, we’re taking another big step. AutoCreate connects to the schedules athletic departments already use and automatically creates game-day, daily schedule, and weekly schedule graphics for them. - No manually entering event details. - No adding colors or logos. - No writing captions. AutoCreate handles the repetitive work, so athletic directors don't have to. Literally while I was drafting this post, a customer texted me: “Holy cow! Just hooked our calendar to auto create! This is AWESOME! Just showed our AD. He was blown away. Said it was cheating. 🤣” If AutoCreate feels like cheating, good. ADs deserve a few unfair advantages. And we’re just getting started!!!

Brett Kopf liked thisBrett Kopf liked thisSan Francisco has few school options for 2E learners, and now it has one fewer: https://archive.is/VmnuJ St. Brigid's school, which served 20-40 gifted and neurodivergent students in a 4:1 teacher-student ratio environment, just announced it will not be able to continue next year. For families seeking non-traditional learning environments, finding a good one off cycle in 6 weeks is a rough situation. If you know anyone in this situation, we've got 2 spots open at Inner Fire Academy for the coming year. And if you've ever been curious about getting into education and serving these kids--you're needed. Chat with me about it any time.

Brett Kopf liked thisBrett Kopf liked thisI need some marketing help. I run a microschool (innerfiresf.com) for gifted K-5 students, some of whom are also neurodivergent. We do great with these profiles: the kids are fully challenged and engaged and love being at our school. But parents of gifted kids only come to us as a last resort. They try traditional private schools first (often paying more), and if none of them are a fit then they reach out to us. It feels like what we offer is seen as a backup rather than an aspiration. That's where I need the help--I don't know why this is and how I can change it. We have the smallest classes and best student:teacher ratio in the city. Our staff are former gifted learners, and have degrees from top universities. We teach a full modern curriculum including 2nd language, coding, arts, and accelerated math. How can I communicate to potential parents of gifted students that we should be their first choice?

Throughout my career, I’ve had the opportunity to help build and scale supply chains across industries. From my time in consulting to advancing sustainable agriculture at Plenty, to supporting the rapid growth of battery and Auto businesses at Tesla and Lucid Motors. Each experience has reinforced the same belief: great products are only possible with resilient, innovative, and collaborative supply chains. I’m thrilled to begin this next chapter at Ford, where I’ll be helping strengthen the global supply chain supporting Ford’s growing energy business. The opportunity to contribute to the future of energy storage and electrification at an Iconic company with such a rich history of innovation is incredibly motivating. I’m especially excited to work alongside the talented team at Ford Energy as we continue building the technologies and supply chains that will help shape the future of energy. Thank you to Eduardo Cancellara Junior and Lisa Drake for the opportunity and to Sherry House for your strong support. I’m looking forward to being in Seattle next Tuesday for a breakfast conversation about private credit. There’s certainly no shortage of opinions on the topic these days! I’m excited to share what we’re seeing at Lighter Capital across the software companies we finance, and to hear Carson Rasmussen's perspective from the real estate lending side. Two different sectors, with some interesting similarities and differences in how we approach lending, risk, and opportunity. Thanks to Carson and the team at Fairview Partners Investment Management, LLC for partnering with us on this event, and to Melissa Bartenbach, MAcc, CPA of Eide Bailly for moderating the discussion!

🥾 #bootstrapping as a mindset should be ephemeral, one that requires a deliberate transition away from as a business enters sustained growth Appointing an established auditor is often regarded as a luxury and not part of bootstrapping Audits discipline a business - to be methodical, thorough and deliberate - traits that acquirers often seek in due diligence After all, "What gets inspected, gets respected," Anon We will share the traits of venture businesses sought and respected by MNC acquirers, join us if your business is out of the #bootstrapping mindset #fulfillingpotential #hepmil #oobmil

If your startup's training data isn't owned or licensed properly, you risk a shutdown, not from a bug, but from a lawsuit. Mecka AI just closed a $500M valuation round while still two years old. They're not selling robot demos; they're selling clean data pipelines for AI training. But their speed highlights what we keep seeing at VisionForge: teams racing to deploy models before resolving the legal and technical debt in their data supply chain. Most early-stage AI startups assume that scraped public data equals safe data. It rarely does. The gap isn't just compliance, it's operational resilience. Teams that treat data provenance as an afterthought often hit a wall when integration, auditing, or customer contracts demand traceability. You don't need a legal team before shipping your first model. But you do need a way to track where each sample came from, who owns it, and how it's used, before growth makes that harder, not easier. What happens to your roadmap when the data pipeline becomes your bottleneck, not the code?

The "One Number" That Derails Fundraisers Most founders believe their fundraising fails because of market size, competition, or valuation. In reality, the single most common cause of early deal-kill in 2026 is Net Dollar Retention (NDR) / Cohort Churn misalignment. When institutional VCs run due diligence, they look straight past top-line ARR growth to test the underlying retention health: • High acquisition with high churn is just expensive customer acquisition. • Expansion revenue from existing logos (NDR > 110%+) proves true product-market fit and pricing power. Before going to market, founders must ensure their core operational data room tells a clear, undeniable story about customer retention and payback periods. At G+QUANT we partner with early-stage founders to structure institutional-grade investment decks, data rooms, and capital strategies that withstand rigorous VC due diligence. Founders: Have you stress-tested your retention cohort metrics prior to initiating your next round? In this episode, she shares how she built three successful startups, including exits to Oracle and Dropbox, and breaks down why staying close to customers is a must for shaping strategy and culture. Uber didn't buy a caterer. It bought the other side of the transaction. The market yawned at the $2.3 billion ezCater deal. What I saw was a theme I'm building at BizBuyAngels and watching emerge at two of our portfolio companies, Groupize and Croft Technologies. Agentic commerce is hot, but the wrong framing. The platforms worth watching serve every party to the transaction, earn from each of them, and hold the record. We call it end-to-end commerce, E2E. Three examples, and why the position is durable: https://lnkd.in/ej983NQg https://bizbuyangels.com · https://groupize.ai · https://www.withcroft.com #E2E #EndToEndCommerce #BizBuyAngels #Groupize #CroftTechnologies #AgenticCommerce

Hot take that might surprise you: what you call the thing matters WAY less than the utility it produces. If you’re a venture builder, you already have your hands full. What you probably don’t need is a bunch of saber rattling related to model definitions. What you call your platform (studio, accelerator, innovation hub, incubator….etc) matters so much less to me than the more substantial stuff: your advantage, how your ecosystem creates value, and the types of ventures you’re focused on creating. These are the things that build real value and drive innovation, not the label you apply to the vehicle itself. End of rant. Now, let’s talk about what you’re building!
