For the safety and protection of residents and visitors, the State of Georgia issues annually a burn ban from May 1 to Sept. 30 for all outdoor burning, which includes (but isn't limited to) trees, limbs and other yard debris. Burn permits are issued from Oct. 1 to April 30.
