Matt Prebble shared thisThe UK is at the forefront of AI innovation, but we are missing the productivity payoff. Our latest Accenture research reveals a stark reality: while 82% of UK working hours could be enhanced by AI, only 3% of organisations are fully ready for it. The barrier isn't the technology, it's execution. To unlock real value, we must move past isolated pilots and fundamentally reinvent our workflows, upskill our people, and embed trust at the core. The opportunity is real. The technology is available. The talent is here. What matters now is whether we have the ambition to lead. Matt Prebble shared thisAn incredible day at our Accenture #ReinventionX event in London and a clear signal of where we are right now with AI. This isn’t about future potential anymore. It’s about how organisations are starting to apply AI in ways that drive real growth, reshape decision-making, and fundamentally change how work gets done. Throughout the day, that theme carried across the conversations. From AI for growth to the rise of agentic AI across industries, the discussion moved beyond theory into what it actually takes to operationalise AI. Thank you to everyone who contributed - speakers, clients, and partners alike. The quality of the dialogue reflected the moment we are in. The age of intelligence isn’t on the horizon. It’s already here. The focus now is on how we build with it, responsibly and at scale.

Matt Prebble shared thisTechnology should adapt to people - not the other way around. At Accenture, our latest research into the UK’s ‘AI Participation Gap’ shows that for nearly 8 million people, AI can either be a daunting barrier or a life-changing bridge. Through our Regenerative AI programme, we’ve identified four pillars to ensure no one is left behind: - Trust starts with the provider: People are more willing to use AI for sensitive tasks when it is delivered through familiar, trusted brands. - Safe experimentation builds confidence: Simple, supportive steps and safe spaces with trusted facilitators quickly turn anxiety into digital fluency. - Autonomy is the ultimate goal: AI tools like real-time translation provide more than just comprehension - they restore dignity and autonomy. - Inclusive design reduces complexity: When AI is simple and empowering, it meets people where they are and unlocks massive social and economic benefits. I’m incredibly proud of our work with partners like Good Things Foundation and Generation UK & Ireland. We aren't just making AI more powerful; we’re making it more human. Matt Prebble shared thisLast week, I was at my first Anthropy gathering at the Eden Project, and it’s one that will stay with me. It was a privilege to be part of the opening of Anthropy UK 2026 in the Our Shared Prosperity session alongside Zahra Bahrololoumi CBE, CEO UK & Ireland at Salesforce, Kelly Beaver MBE, CEO UK & Ireland at Ipsos, Steven Cooper CBE, CEO of Fairstone Group and John O’Brien MBE Anthropist, Founder and Chair of Anthropy. Beginning the event this way helped set a clear direction for the gathering, encouraging frank discussions about the kind of country we want to create and reminding us all of our collective responsibility in shaping its future. Alongside our work with the Good Things Foundation and the Connection Project, one of the real highlights for me was seeing Accenture early‑career colleagues taking part through Anthropy’s Young Leaders programme. I was proud of their thoughtful, grounded contributions - their voices will be key to shaping Accenture and the country’s future. I’m leaving the Eden Project thinking more about how Accenture can continue to partner with industry, government and communities to tackle some of the biggest challenges we face across the UK and the role emerging technologies can play in delivering a future that builds trust, strengthens communities and puts people at the centre of change. Matt Prebble shared thisTalent is everywhere. Our job is to help make opportunity more accessible. This is Accenture UK & Ireland in action — our people, clients, partners and communities working together to create real impact. In the age of AI, widening access to skills and reskilling is one of the most practical ways we live our commitment to equal opportunity, belonging and social mobility. Thank you to Rachna Sundaram-Sennett Alex Jonas MCIBS Georgina Snape digilearning and everyone involved for leading something that is both important and deeply practical. #SocialMobility #Belonging #Opportunity #AccentureUKIMatt Prebble shared thisAs Executive Sponsor for our Accenture UK & Ireland partnership with digilearning, I’m delighted to share our Social Mobility Month highlight video and celebrate the incredible impact we’ve made together changing lives and driving awareness. Social mobility is not a one-off initiative or a moment in time. It is an ongoing commitment and a long-term responsibility for everyone. When we actively work to remove barriers and widen access to opportunity, we unlock potential, confidence and possibility for so many people regardless of background. This Social Mobility month was energising and inspiring. It brought together people from across our organisation, our clients, platform ecosystem partners and beyond. Volunteers, speakers and participants came together with a shared belief that talent is everywhere but opportunity is not. The conversations, engagement, and openness throughout the month were a powerful reminder of what progress looks like in action. I want to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone involved across our incredible ecosystem; including Digilearning Founder Lisa💫 Goodchild, Social Mobility Month Sponsor Alex Jonas MCIBS and Social Mobility Month Lead Georgina Snape. Matt Prebble shared thisI’m looking forward to joining Anthropy UK next week for the first time, and to being part of an important conversation on how we ensure AI enables rather than excludes. I’ll be joining Vicki Sellick MBE, CEO of the Good Things Foundation, to discuss a challenge that feels increasingly urgent. As AI becomes part of everyday life, the participation gap is widening. Too many people are being held back by low confidence in a digital world. Drawing on stories from communities across the UK, we’ll explore why people hesitate to engage with AI and digital services – from security concerns and confusing design, to language, accessibility and trust. And we’ll ask what it really takes to build confidence at scale. As leaders, we have a responsibility to make sure AI works for people, not the other way around. That means designing services that are trusted, inclusive and accessible, and ensuring the benefits of AI are shared fairly as it reshapes our economy and society. These are important conversations and I hope to see you all there. https://lnkd.in/eBpQ-ht9The AI participation gap: Building confidence to open opportunities for all in the UK - AccentureThe AI participation gap: Building confidence to open opportunities for all in the UK - Accenture

Matt Prebble shared thisSareena Bains what an incredible chapter. Thank you for the passion, leadership and humanity you’ve brought to Movement to Work. The impact you and the wider team have had in helping young people access opportunities and build pathways into work is something to be very proud of. Accenture UK & Ireland is delighted to support Movement to Work on something that matters so deeply, and I know the energy you’ve brought to this mission will continue well beyond this role…Matt Prebble shared thisMy heart is full. Friday marked my final day as CEO of Movement to Work. I leave this role a better leader and a better person because of the extraordinary individuals I’ve had the privilege of meeting and working alongside during my time leading this movement. The young people who challenged and inspired me. The colleagues and partners who pushed this mission forward every day. The mentors and friends whose guidance I’ll carry long after this chapter. Over the past few days I’ve found myself reflecting on just how much impact we’ve been able to create together in such a short space of time. In many ways it feels like yesterday that I first stepped into this role. How has it only been two years? I’m so proud that together we’ve helped more young people find their pathway into the world of work, while exploring new ways to tackle youth unemployment through innovative partnerships. To everyone who opened their doors in support of this mission, thank you. To my team, whose energy and commitment made so much possible. To the Steering Group, for your trust and belief. And to the Accenture leadership team, for allowing me the opportunity to step away and dedicate time to something that matters deeply to me – breaking down barriers to shape a better future for young people. I had planned to tag everyone who has been part of this journey, but with the sheer number of incredible people involved, I quickly realised I might break LinkedIn. So if we’ve crossed paths along the way, please know how grateful I am 🫶 I’ll be cheering Movement to Work on from the sidelines, and I’m confident this work will continue because there is still so much more to do. Today’s announcement from the Secretary of State, Pat McFadden, on a £1bn investment in supporting young people is a reminder of that. This definitely isn’t goodbye. If anything, this experience has only strengthened my commitment to helping the next generation reach their full potential. For now though, it’s time for a short break and some travel across South East Asia. See you soon. Matt Prebble liked thisMatt Prebble liked thisA big week for Accenture UK & Ireland at Reinvention X on Monday where we brought together business leaders, policymakers, technologists and partners to focus on how AI, data and skills actually change how work gets done. It was a useful reminder that the AI conversation is finally shifting from potential to practice. I think everyone in attendance appreciated the contribution from Minister Kanishka Narayan MP, who along with Marc Warner and Shaheen Sayed, discussed the need to ensure that our people, skills and capability at the centre of the UK’s approach to AI. That theme runs right through the research we launched at the event, Generating Impact. It looks at why many organisations can be stuck in pilots, and what actually differentiates those that are using data and AI to drive real productivity, better services and inclusive growth. For me, one of the clearest messages is that skills and workforce readiness are not a nice to have - they are central to UK economic growth, redesigning work, equipping people and building the capability to apply technology in ways that deliver value for citizens, customers and workers. Matt Prebble liked thisMatt Prebble liked thisYesterday we held ReinventionX, and I'll be honest - I wasn't quite prepared for how it would make me feel. More than 500 clients came through the door, alongside 25+ Accenture partners, and what struck me most wasn't the scale of it but the quality. The event hit exactly the right note - not too deep, not too surface-level, just genuinely relevant to what people are thinking about right now. Watching clients leave energised, still mid-conversation, buzzing from the keynotes - that's the thing you hope for and don't always get. I did something old school and actually wrote things down rather than letting an agent summarise it for me later. Three things stayed with me: 1. Greg Jackson, CEO of Octopus, said that "There is a glorious strength to naivety" - a reminder that fresh eyes and the courage to ask obvious questions can be more powerful than years of accumulated assumptions. 2. Matt Prebble, our UKI CEO, put it simply: leading from the front means learning from everywhere. 3. And our CTO Marc Warner made a practical and direct call to action - that everyone should be spending time in Claude Code. I took the last two together as a personal challenge and asked my stepdaughter to sit down and teach me how to use Claude Code. Learning from everywhere, put into practice - starting at home. Days like yesterday remind me why I'm proud to be part of Accenture. To everyone who attended and put it together - thank you. #ReinventionX #Accenture #Leadership #AI #LearningEveryDay Accenture UK & Ireland Matt Prebble Shaheen Sayed

I have seen first hand how powerful the right alliance can be. When you align around a common ambition, stay calm in complexity and communicate with real clarity, you unlock far more than a commercial agreement. You create momentum, innovation and confidence on both sides. Alliances are not just about logos or contracts. They are about people. They are about navigating challenge together, being clear on direction and ensuring everyone understands the next step. When done well, strategic alliances become a force multiplier for clients, alliances and for our teams. Proud of what strong collaboration can achieve. Looking forward to the British Retail Consortium CEO Exchange Forum this week with Simon Roberts and Helen Dickinson. The context for retail leaders is clear. Like-for-like volume growth is hard to find. Costs are rising. Consumer confidence remains fragile. Colleagues are struggling At the same time, organisations are tired. AI is moving quickly, but the real question is where it genuinely drives productivity rather than just activity. We’ll focus on three areas: • Strengthening core trading disciplines and unlocking capacity • Evolving operating models without losing control • Leading people through sustained uncertainty Retail is still a people business. In a tougher market, that becomes more - not less - true.

At the ongoing conversations around AI and global technology summits, I find myself reflecting on the arc of change our generation has lived through. As Gen X, we’ve witnessed transformation at extraordinary speed — from typewriters to computers, from limited broadcast media to digital ecosystems, from manual business operations to globally connected enterprises. Technology has consistently reshaped how we work and live. Yet one thing appeared constant: human intelligence. Skills developed through practice, discipline, and experience endured across decades. Artificial Intelligence now challenges that assumption. Today’s discussion is no longer about faster tools but about cognition itself. Naturally, important questions arise: Will AI replace human intelligence? Will those already skilled gain disproportionate advantage? Will dependence on AI weaken human thinking over time? What happens to future generations if answers are always instantly available? My perspective is this: AI will undoubtedly replace repetitive cognitive effort and enhance productivity. But creativity, ethical judgment, emotional intelligence, entrepreneurial instinct, and leadership remain uniquely human capabilities. Technology has always shifted the nature of human work, not eliminated human relevance. Calculators did not end mathematics. Computers did not end thinking. They elevated expectations of what humans could achieve. AI will likely do the same. The critical leadership challenge ahead is not resisting AI, but ensuring we use it wisely — to amplify human potential rather than diminish it, and to prepare younger generations not just to consume intelligence, but to develop it. The future of intelligence, artificial or human, ultimately depends on the choices we make today. #Leadership #ArtificialIntelligence #FutureOfWork #Innovation #Entrepreneurship #GenXPerspective #HumanIntelligence #TechnologyLeadership #BusinessTransformation

Every cloud has a silver lining. Our Q4 2025 Deloitte Consumer Tracker survey makes for concerning reading for UK businesses, with consumer confidence dropping by 1 percentage point to -11.1% in Q3 2025 📉, with perceptions about household debt, disposable income, and job prospects all contributing. The result? Consumers remain frugal, reducing discretionary purchases and focusing on value. On a more positive note, sentiment about the UK economy improved by eight percentage points to -56% in Q4 2025, the biggest increase since Q2 2024, reflecting expectations of reducing inflation and finally some easing of pressure on consumers' pockets 🤞. Its always a pleasure to collaborate with our in-house economist Tera Allas CBE on understanding UK consumers. We took a look at ONS data to see what’s changed since 2019. Despite the huge spikes and drops generated by Covid and its aftereffects, the answer is – not much. What consumers consumers spend on, in broad terms, remains fairly fixed. The one exception is working from home – which 12% of consumers were doing at least weekly in 2019, and now 42% are today. This shift has knock on effects for many industries, such as the best catchments for restaurants. See our Mckinsey UK blog post for more: https://lnkd.in/eVTEwz5d #dataisbeautiful

With retailers' 2025 results coming out thick and fast, we take a look back at the key trends that shaped the UK online retail market in 2025: 1. Rising costs are forcing tough trade-offs between margin protection and competitiveness on price, delivery and experience. 2.
