Understanding How Roulette Payouts Work
Once you start using the calculator, it becomes clear that not all roulette bets pay the same. Each bet type has a fixed return that depends on how many numbers it covers and which roulette version you are playing. Payouts can be explained in two ways: by showing how much a bet pays relative to your stake, or by looking at the total amount returned after a winning spin.
Roulette Payout Table

| Bet Type | Return Rate | Numbers Covered |
|---|---|---|
| Straight up | pays 35 for 1 | 1 |
| Split | pays 17 for 1 | 2 |
| Street | pays 11 for 1 | 3 |
| Corner | pays 8 for 1 | 4 |
| Basket | pays 6 for 1 | 5 |
| Six Line | pays 5 for 1 | 6 |
| Column | pays double | 12 |
| Dozen | pays double | 12 |
| Even / Odd | pays even money | 18 |
| Red / Black | pays even money | 18 |
| High / Low | pays even money | 18 |
How Roulette Payouts Are Calculated
Roulette payouts are based on a simple idea. Each bet has a fixed return rate that tells you how many times your stake is paid out if the bet wins. The number on the left shows the multiplier, while your stake is the base amount.
For example, a return of 17 for 1 means the bet pays seventeen times the amount you placed. If you wager ₹500 on that bet and it wins, the payout from that bet is ₹8,500. An even-money bet works differently. If you place ₹1,000 on red and win, the return is ₹1,000.
When a bet wins, your original stake is also returned. That means the total amount credited to you includes both the winnings and the amount you placed on the table.
The basic calculation looks like this:
If more than one bet wins on the same spin, the payouts are added together. Any losing bets are removed from the total.
Example Calculation
Imagine you place ₹8,000 on red, ₹400 on a corner bet covering 4, 5, 7, and 8, and ₹2,000 on the third dozen. Your total stake is ₹10,400.
If the winning number is 5, the red bet and the corner bet both win, while the dozen bet loses. The red bet returns ₹8,000. The corner bet returns ₹3,200. The losing dozen bet removes ₹2,000 from the total.
Your net winnings come to ₹9,200. On top of that, you also receive back the stakes from the winning bets.
