From raw input to ready-to-sell, tracked every step
Processing rules that keep inventory accurate as material moves through your equipment.
What ReSpark changes about processing
The old way creates work. ReSpark replaces it.
Everything processing should be.
Split one input material into multiple outputs with configurable allocation and full supplier traceability.
- Regrade one input material into multiple output materials.
- Configurable allocation rules for weight, cost, and shrink.
- Full traceability across inputs, outputs, and suppliers.
- Backdating to reflect actual production dates for accurate period costing.
Recipes for shredders and choppers — multi-supplier batches with per-supplier attribution end-to-end.
- Define input mix, expected outputs, and shrink for shredders and choppers.
- Select multiple supplier packages simultaneously for batch runs.
- Per-supplier attribution maintained through the entire production process.
Packages preserve supplier and ticket identity, with line-item cost basis from receipt through production.
- Create packages from inbound line items that preserve supplier and ticket identity.
- Line-item level costing maintains cost basis from receipt through production.
- Toggle between supplier-level costing and perpetual inventory costing within WIP.
Distribute weight, cost, shrink, and processing burden across outputs — and preview before applying.
- Distribute weight and cost including shrink and processing costs across outputs.
- Preview weighted average costs and valuations before applying.
- Processing and handling burden costs assignable by equipment.
Override expected recovery percentages per ticket — with RMU pricing when actuals differ from defaults.
- Override expected recovery percentages on individual tickets.
- Supports RMU-based pricing and costing when actuals differ from defaults.
Full regrade history with reason codes, user attribution, and links to inventory and period locking.
- Full history of all regrades with before/after weights and costs.
- Reason codes and user attribution on every production action.
- Connected to inventory, reporting, and period locking.
Frequently asked questions.
What does processing cover?
Any transformation of material inside the yard — shredding, baling, shearing, sorting, wire chopping. You build processing rules that map input materials to output materials so yield is captured rather than estimated.
How do processing costs get into inventory cost?
Assign a cost per commodity and per process. When the job runs, that cost is applied to the outputs and weighted average cost is recalculated for each resulting material.
Can we see the cost impact before committing a job?
Yes. Preview the resulting weighted average costs before the job is finalized, so you know what a run does to your position and margin before you commit it.
How do finished goods get tracked after processing?
Outputs can be packaged and tagged as finished goods with QR codes, which lets yard staff identify and look up a package from a phone and keeps finished goods inventory tied back to the material that produced it.
Does processing support multi-step production?
Yes. Outputs of one process can become inputs to the next, and loose WIP can be packaged as a direct inventory action rather than only at the end of a production run.
