Over the next several years he grew from racking hardware and troubleshooting networks into designing the kind of infrastructure that businesses bet their operations on — moving from hands-on engineering, to leading teams, to owning the architecture and strategy behind it all. That six-year climb from the server room to the CEO's chair shaped how he leads today: he still thinks like the engineer who has to make things actually work.
