3.5.1. Getting Familiar with User Interface and Buttons

The main user interface of Stellar Data Recovery is simple and easy to use. When you start the software, What To Recover screen appears.

Recovery Options:

The main screen shows two recovery options.

  1. Recover Everything: Use this option to recover All Data from selected drive or location.

  2. Customize Your Scan: Use this option to recover specific types of data, such as Office documents, Emails, Photos, Audio files and Video files.

Note: Select one or more categories, based on your need.

The software lets you select a connected drive. You can also select a specific location on a drive or on storage media that is connected to the system.

The software provides the following selection options:

Stellar Help

This option shows all drives and external storage media that are connected to the system. It also includes the Can’t Find Drive option.

Specific icons, symbols and bars appear on volumes or partitions under Connected Drives. These indicators show the status of each volume or partition.

Lock icon on a disk indicates drive is BitLocker Encrypted.

Minus Sign icon on a disk indicates Lost Drive/Unallocated volume.

Warning Icon
Warning icon on a disk indicates SMART status of a disk or volume. This icon appears on a disk when the disk health status is changed from good to bad.

Question Mark Icon
Question Mark icon on a disk represents Can’t Find Drive function. Use this function to recover data from lost partition.

Windows Symbol on a disk indicates the bootable volume of a hard disk.

No Symbol on a disk indicates Existing Volume of a connected drive.

DiskSymbol on a disk indicates a CD/DVD volume.

USB Symbol
USB cable Symbol on a disk indicates an external storage media or pendrive volume.

Green color bars on a disk signify the good health status of a disk.

  • The More Tools option is not available for standalone software.

  • The Submit Support Ticket option is available only if an issue occurs while scanning a disk or drive.
