Dealing with Problems

Dealing with Problems

You know what I’ve been talking about for the last several months? Problems.

Aren’t they fun to deal with?

We all have them.

Nobody can escape.

Doesn’t matter your wealth, your knowledge, your color or your creed. We all have problems that we have to deal with.

Every. Single. Day.

But usually we feel alone.

I had a big problem last March when I lost my job. But others didn’t have that one. They had their own problems. Most, very unique.

Not now.

Now we all face the same virus. The same scary economy. The same questionable future.

And it’s so easy as you see your 401K look like .99K... as you see more and more virus cases get closer... as you see your spring travel plans get canceled... to ask “Why? Why me?”

Trust me, I’ve been there.

When you lose your job and you still have a mortgage and a car payment and a kid in college, it doesn’t make sense.

Why? Why me?

But Jeremiah 29:11 tells us that God has plans. Plans to give you hope. Plans for the future.

Not our plans, that are sometimes selfish and not correct.

His plans.

And if we trust Him, it makes more sense.

Maybe there’s a reason why He didn’t want you to go on that spring break trip. Maybe there’s a reason why He wants you to spend more time at home with family. Maybe there’s a reason why He wants you to appreciate the extra things in your life you’ve grown accustomed to.

But to be at peace with the problem you have to trust Him. Trust Him 100%.

Easy to do when the problem is a scarcity of toilet paper.

But when it is a major problem... When your world is rocked by death and destruction and famine and pestilence, you have to dig deep. Deep in your heart. Deep in your soul.

And trust Him.

Remember all the great things He has helped you with in your life.

Love and money. Academics and athletics. Business and health. Maybe a miracle when doctors gave up on you but the woman of your dreams brought you back to life.

We all have problems. But we all have stories. Stories of faith. Stories of hope. Stories of love.

And if you can stay focused on those stories and what He has done for you, the trust will stay in your heart. Even when everything around you is canceled and out of your control.

The hope should still be there. The future is still there.

All because HE HAS PLANS 🙏🏻✝️❤️

Psalms 91. Trust God. Pray, Exercise Wisdom. Do Not Fear. This Too Shall Pass.
