It’s been one month since we launched the Upwork MCP Server, bringing Upwork’s talent marketplace into the AI tools where people are already working. We’re seeing clients and independent professionals turn AI conversations into action: ideas into job posts, work histories into better-matched opportunities, and disconnected tools into more seamless workflows. The result is a faster path from idea to execution. Learn more about what you can do with Upwork MCP inside your favorite AI tools like Claude and ChatGPT: http://spr.ly/6047BGiZGt

Hey Upwork team, you have become too expensive for freelancers to afford. You have been charging so much money for Connects that don't even land jobs. Adding more features is making the platform more expensive and more difficult for freelancers to work on. Upwork is not worthwhile anymore like it used to be.

For website projects, I’d find it useful if the brief prompts for the existing platform, the exact problem, and what a successful handover looks like. “Update five service pages” and “rebuild the site” can sound surprisingly similar in a vague brief.

Upwork is going downhill fast, and honestly, it’s becoming harder and harder to take this platform seriously. A platform that was built around freelancers now feels like it’s working against them. Freelancers are already struggling to find real opportunities, while fake or low-quality jobs seem to be everywhere, costing people Connects just to apply. At this point, it feels like freelancers are being treated as the product instead of the people who built the platform in the first place. Upwork needs to remember who made it successful.

I connected the Upwork MCP with my AI agent and it’s COOL! I can easily optimize my profile's title, description, skills etc and also find the best job post that match with my expertise and then draft a well oriented proposal for the job post and then just one command and booom! I enjoying it.

As an Upwork freelancer, this is genuinely interesting. If MCP can help reduce the time spent on repetitive tasks and managing workflows, it could make a real difference in how we work with clients. Looking forward to trying it out.

Bringing talent marketplaces directly into AI workflows is a meaningful step toward reducing the gap between planning and execution. The real value will come from how seamlessly clients and freelancers can turn conversations into actual work.

From “I need someone for this” to “it’s already in motion.” That’s the kind of AI integration that actually changes the workflow.

Upwork This is honestly wild. Turning AI conversations directly into real work is the kind of upgrade that actually saves people time.
