In some areas, AI is generating more work, not less. On Upwork, jobs asking humans to fix, refine, or finish AI-generated work are up 70% year over year. In the software and development category, jobs asking humans to improve AI-generated work have increased more than eightfold since 2023. The signal is clear: AI can create the first draft. Human judgment is what gets it across the finish line. Read our new research on the rise of “AI slop” and why human expertise is becoming even more valuable. http://spr.ly/6049B1iLcz
My Top Rated Upwork account has been unexpectedly restricted, and I urgently need help getting this resolved. I submitted a support ticket 3 days ago and still haven’t received a single response from the support team. The restriction is affecting my ability to work on the platform. Upwork Support, please review this as soon as possible. Ticket ID: #55390755
Hello Hayden Brown, I’m sharing this respectfully and hoping it reaches the right team. My Upwork account was permanently suspended on Dec 25, 2025 after automated systems flagged possible automation-related activity. I’ve been on Upwork since 2017, earned $150K+, and worked mainly with long-term clients. Upwork has been my only source of income to support my family. Any unusual activity may have been unintentional and related to system setup during client work, not bad intent. I’m respectfully asking for one chance to return to the platform, under any conditions or restrictions you feel are appropriate. I truly value Upwork and would be very grateful for the opportunity. Thank you. Post 82
I feel obligated to share my extremely disappointing experience with Upwork. I had an active account, purchased Connects, applied for jobs, and then after logging into my account from another device, my account was permanently suspended. For months, I have been asking for a clear explanation of what exactly I did wrong or which policy I supposedly violated. I have never received one. The only response I keep getting is that the suspension is permanent and the decision is final — but no one is willing to actually explain WHY. This is incredibly frustrating and unacceptable, especially from one of the largest freelance platforms in the world. When people spend their money on Connects, invest their time applying for jobs, and trust your platform with their professional opportunities, they deserve at the very least a clear and transparent explanation before being permanently removed. I am not asking for a generic automated response. I am asking for one simple thing: tell me exactly what rule I violated and why my account was permanently suspended. The complete lack of transparency and proper communication has made this one of the worst customer experiences I have had with any online platform.
Hello Upwork I was asked to re-verify my Upwork account by submitting my ID and proof of address. I submitted the documents, but my verification was rejected twice because the proof of address was not approved. I checked my Upwork profile settings and noticed that the address listed is Adegbayi, Ibadan, Oyo State, while the address on my bank statement is Akala Express Road, Ibadan, Oyo State. Could you please advise me on the correct step to take? Should I update my address in my Upwork settings to match the address on my bank statement as that’s my document permanent address , or should I provide a utility bill or another document that matches the address currently listed on my Upwork account as that’s address was where I was staying while setting up my profile I want to make sure I submit the correct document before trying again. Thank you.
AI lowers the cost of producing a first version, but it raises the value of people who can recognize what’s wrong with it. The bottleneck is shifting from execution to judgment.
AI may have some value in this sense but is becoming muddled in others. Some clients claim to want authenticity and put an artist’s hard work back into AI to tweak the results. (If clearly communicated, this would be fine). A lot of instances are leaving creatives experiencing that AI is the standard and hearing that it is not. It comes out looking “just not right” to the professional with their name published on the front.
The same pattern is emerging in marketing: AI lowers the cost of producing a first draft, while raising the importance of review. Clear ownership for fact-checking, brand judgment, and performance validation is what turns faster output into usable campaigns. Without that layer, teams risk scaling rework alongside production.
This reflects exactly what I'm seeing in frontend development right now. AI can speed up the basic scaffolding, but fixing the nuances, optimizing performance, and building enterprise-level applications still heavily rely on human problem-solving skills.
Well said. But how do we gonna solve proposal boosting issue? You will see some freelancers boosting their proposal with 150 connects for a job that's supposed to be 11connecs to submit a proposal. Finally getting most qualified candidate's proposal buried.
