Taylor Hulett shared thisGood news for anyone who's been told they need to start over: you don't. Google confirmed AI runs on the same foundation as regular search. What changed is that the shortcuts stopped working. Robotic blog posts and keyword stuffing get filtered out. What gets pulled in instead is video, reviews, and real job photos. A 45-second phone video of your tech explaining how to spot hail damage is worth more right now. What you can do now: have one tech record one short video on their phone explaining one common problem and post it. #digitalmarketing #Homeservices CAMP Digital

Taylor Hulett shared thisI have LOVED the opportunity to host The Digital Download Podcast with CAMP Digital. Bringing all the complex changes with digital marketing and AI down to what actions we can take to help businesses grow is THE BEST!Taylor Hulett shared thisWhat happens when paid search can't keep delivering incremental growth? In this clip from The Digital Download, Keri Peloso from Team First Home Services joins CAMP's Taylor Hulett and Jerod Obbarius to talk about why relying too heavily on PPC can limit growth, and how diversifying your marketing mix can reach new audiences and lower overall acquisition costs. Taylor Hulett shared thisFresh, authentic, firsthand experience wins. "We're the best in town" is worth nothing now, because AI can't verify it. Compare these two. "We do roof repairs." Versus: "We fixed a leak in Cedar Ridge last week caused by failed chimney flashing, replaced with GAF materials, done in one day." One is a claim. The other is evidence. Do this today: take one recent job, write four sentences about what was wrong, where it was, what you used, and how long it took, and put it on your site. AI verifies rich, fresh content.

Taylor Hulett shared thisHere's a stat that should change how you think about social ads: 84% of people who find a service on social media go straight to Google to check it out. And two out of three times, they end up hiring someone else. Think about a homeowner test-driving a car. They see the ad, then they go look it up before they ever walk into a dealership. If your Google presence is weak, you're the one losing that comparison. If it's strong, you're the one winning jobs you never paid to generate. Do this today: Look at your split between high-funnel, and low funnel marketing campaigns. Are you leaning one way? Look for the balance.

Taylor Hulett shared thisPeople stopped searching like a phone book. Searches are three times longer than they used to be, and more than 1 in 6 now come from voice or a photo. That's a homeowner standing in their basement saying "my water heater is making a popping noise, who can fix it today." Your website was probably built for "plumber near me." It needs to handle the full sentence. Do this today: write down the five questions customers actually ask you on the phone, word for word, and put those questions and answers on your service page. Not keywords. The actual sentences.

Taylor Hulett shared thisWe're diving into Google's latest AI search briefing to bring you the practical, on-the-ground takeaways for your business. Here's the short version for an owner: none of this requires you to rebuild your website or chase a new platform. What it requires is proof. Real photos, real jobs, real reviews, and a website that answers the questions homeowners are actually asking. AI is very good at spotting the difference between a company that says it does good work and one that shows it. Follow along over the coming weeks, because every update comes with a practical action step you can take right away.

Taylor Hulett shared thisYou know AI search is changing the game. But how do you actually adapt your local home service business to win? It requires a structured, compounding framework. At CAMP Digital, we've identified exactly what AI needs to surface your brand in traditional search, map packs, and AI Overviews: 1) Manufacturer/Brand Pages: Prove to AI that you are the certified authority for the specific brands you install. 2) Local Engagement Pages: Build geographic depth so AI knows exactly what neighborhoods you dominate. 3) Content Engines & Structure: Use clear formatting (H1s, FAQs, Schema markup) so AI can easily extract and cite your answers. This isn't about publishing random pages. It's about building a digital infrastructure that compounds in authority month over month. Secure your foundation today, and own the AI search results of tomorrow. #CAMPLocal #DigitalInfrastructure #HomeServiceGrowth #Plumbing #HVAC

Taylor Hulett liked thisWow! That's the messy middle in action. Consumers (including myself) rarely go from awareness to conversion in a straight-forward, digestible manner. Thinking about all the times you've been shown a social ad, gone to search to learn more, hit the website (along with their competitor's websites), back to Youtube, abandoned a cart - only to convert on a remarketing email a day later. Another great reminder why full funnel advertising is the way to grow your customer base!Taylor Hulett liked thisThis is an actual customer journey just prior to a $1,000 purchase of a fancy TV (and then their exploration of an accessory). Just one person's path-to-purchase over the course of a few hours/days as they investigated and converted. It comes via Eli Goodman (whom you should definitely follow), and for me, it's just so dang eye-opening to view these clickstream paths. I'll share just a few of my takeaways from this: 1) Someone will inevitably say "look how important Reddit is!" while another person will say "this proves Perplexity is still huge for high ticket consumer items!" Both are farcical statements. This is literally ONE DEVICE bought without AI, and then AI informing the wall mount purchase. It says absolutely nothing about average journeys, but some people just can't help extrapolating. Resist the urge. 2) As a thought exercise, imagine you're the analytics person at Samsung responsible for giving credit to channels for this sale. Who deserves how much credit? Why? How did you decide that? Why do you have to give percentiles of credit? How does that make Samsung's marketing better in the future? Does it? 3) Now take a close look at this journey and answer honestly: which of these would Samsung actually be able to see? (pretend they couldn't buy this particular journey from Datos)... That's right, almost none of it. They'd maybe see two visit paths, one from search (the 2nd to 3rd step) and one from direct (because while ChatGPT gave a recommendation, it didn't give a link! And even if it did, much of ChatGPT traffic comes without a referrer). 4) If Samsung ran a post-purchase survey, asking "what source brought you to our website for this purchase?" or "what was the primary influencer of your decision to buy from us today?"... what should this consumer answer? Was it Reddit? Google? Perplexity? ChatGPT? Target? If they answered one of those and not the others, should Samsung modify their marketing efforts? Why? 5) Bad news friends... this is one of the simplest, least complex, shortest purchase journeys of its kind for a consumer sale of this size. Almost every other one like it is going to be murkier, with more steps, more unique sources visited, more complexity. My biggest takeaway when I see these journeys is that anyone attempting to do attribution, no matter how smart their analysts, or how much AI they bake into their tools, is doing their organization a disservice. Incrementality testing and correlation measurement dashboards are the only way forward. My second big takeaway: OMG clickstream data is amazing, and I'm so grateful we get to work with Datos to get stuff like this.

Taylor Hulett reacted on thisTaylor Hulett reacted on thisAt the Google #ReThinkROI event, Google leaders gave businesses some very clear advice: double down on "fresh, authentic, and firsthand experiences." This was a double down from a recent Microsoft hosted event we were at as well. Why? As AI instantly synthesizes information from across the web, just saying "we’re the best in town" isn't enough anymore. AI is looking for specifics. What does that look like? Instead of a generic webpage that says "We do roof repairs," AI favors content that tells a specific story: "Here’s a photo of a roof leak we fixed in [Local Neighborhood] last week. The problem was caused by faulty flashing around the chimney, and our crew replaced it using [Specific Brand] materials." Our Gameplan: We make sure your content is an unmistakable representation of your business - not generic content that could belong to any contractor in any market. That means incorporating your brand, your services, your locations, and the specific work your team is doing. At CAMP Digital, we show Google / Microsoft / ChatGPT and your customers exactly what you did, where you did it, and how you solved the problem. #CAMPDigital #RankingInAI

Broad match is a budget incinerator if left on autopilot. Stop letting Google decide where your money goes. Many advertisers lean on Smart Bidding and Broad Match, then wonder why CPA is spiraling. The algorithm isn't a human; it prioritizes traffic volume over intent. You must audit your search terms weekly. If you aren't adding at least 20 negative keywords per week, you are paying for irrelevant discovery. Don't chase scale at the expense of profit margins. Audit your search terms today or lose your budget. #googleads #ppc #sem #growthmarketing

A gap we see across a lot of client sites: sales hears the same objections every week, but that language rarely makes it into the website, FAQs, or content plan. The result is content built from a calendar template instead of what prospects are actually saying. Worth a read if your marketing and sales conversations aren't talking to each other. #SEO #AIO #UnframedDigital #B2BMarketing #ContentStrategy

Everyone in professional services is being told the same thing: Build funnels. Automate marketing. Buy leads. But here’s the reality. Most successful advisors, consultants, and professionals still grow the same way they always have, through trust and referrals. In this episode of Under the Hood, Mike breaks down why referral-driven businesses continue to outperform transactional marketing systems. Because at the end of the day, professional services are built on something technology can’t automate: Human trust. If you want a stronger, more sustainable way to grow your business, this conversation is worth your time.

Every month that you measure poor marketing metrics, your team gets better at producing the wrong results. In one way, it's obvious because there is no real $$$ growth. But in another way, you don't see it for years because the metrics you are paying attention to are going up.

Most B2B podcasts are just expensive hobbies - zero ROI and vanity metrics. In 2026, "brand awareness" doesn’t justify a budget. Your podcast must be a revenue engine. Nearly 75% of B2B buyers vet organizations based on thought leadership. If you’re hiding behind a logo, you’re a commodity. At Reo.fm, we use a Podcast-First framework to turn one recording into a scalable pipeline: 1️⃣ Reverse Guest Prospecting: Stop chasing influencers. Invite your "Dream 100" accounts. It’s the ultimate discovery call in disguise. 2️⃣ The Multi-Platform Slice: Extract 15+ assets from one episode. High-signal 9:16 clips capture the attention that links alone can't. 3️⃣ Closed-Loop Retargeting: Replace generic PDFs with 2-minute clips of you solving a prospect's specific problem on camera. Stop polishing sand with AI-generated noise. Build a library of high-signal assets that shorten your sales cycle.
