Things that went wrong: My watch gave up on me at mile 16… no pace, no timing gels, no clue what was going on — completely threw me off. I definitely went out too fast, and by mile 18 I hit a wall HARD — Overheated, exhausted. At mile 3, the hook on my sports bra broke (because… of course it did) and spent the rest of the race shredding my back — blisters included. And the heat… wow. Training through cold winter months did not prepare me for that 😂 But despite all of that… Things I loved: The crowds — just unreal. The entire route lined with people cheering you on when you need it most. Running alongside Jordan Adams for a few minutes — carrying a 25kg fridge on his back… perspective. Seeing my family at miles 8, 19 and 25… even if my son told me at mile 19 I needed to run faster because I was “losing” 😅 My husband getting emotional telling me how proud he was — one of those moments I’ll never forget. Thanks Joe Curtis Friends, hugs, strangers cheering — the kind of energy that carries you when you’re running on empty. And my little girl wanting to take my medal into school for show and tell because she’s proud… that one really got me 🤍 And on top of all of that… I raised over £5,000 for Action for Children — which means the world to me. I wasn’t chasing a time — I just wanted to show up and finish. And if I’m honest, that’s what I’ll take away from it… Not everything goes to plan. You don’t always feel ready. Things will go wrong. But you keep going anyway. Brutal. Emotional. Incredible. London… you were magic London marathon 2026 - 4:38:23

I've strived to lean into the idea of living as a multi-potentialite - learning new areas, connecting with people across a spectrum of ideas, and consistently trying new things. Seeking and disrupting, as Dave Finnegan and Rob Garf would say. I had the ultimate pleasure of witnessing that philosophy in its fullest form - live, at the recording of the Stay Tuned podcast as Finn and Rob interviewed Richard Garriott: video game developer, astronaut, explorer... the incredible list goes on. And what better place to do it than the Explorer’s Club! This was peak awe-inspiring human multi-potential. The rare combination of someone who seeks and disrupts across entirely different worlds. What struck me most wasn't the sheer volume of what Richard has accomplished, it was the genuine awe he could describe when he talked about witnessing space. One moment, among so many extraordinary ones, and yet he could speak about it like it was yesterday. Pure magic. I'm walking away inspired to lean in more fully. To seek, to disrupt, and to stay curious about what sense of awe my own multi-potentials might one day unlock. John Grech Colleen Waters Michael Cantrell Sarah Engel Rick Watson

Erica Lynn Young liked thisErica Lynn Young liked thisSome Of The Most Powerful Leadership Moments Don’t Happen In Boardrooms. They happen on the front line. There’s a story that stays with me about a young employee who had been working at a park since he was 14. Not because it was convenient but because it was necessary. He grew up there. It wasn’t just a job. It was his passion. His dream. His proving ground. He worked full time. He went to school at night. He carried responsibility far heavier than his title suggested. And then something remarkable happened. A senior leader took the time to listen. Not to a report. Not to a metric. To a person. That single conversation led to opportunity. To belief. To investment. To a scholarship. To a future that suddenly expanded. That’s the leadership lesson. As organizations grow, leaders naturally rise higher, more strategy, more scale, more distance. But with every level gained, there’s a risk of losing touch with the very people who make the organization work. The front line is not the bottom of the pyramid. It’s the foundation. These are the people who shape the customer experience. They carry the brand in real time. They turn vision into reality every single day. If something feels off in the organization, don’t just look at dashboards. Go where the work is happening. Listen to the people closest to the customer, the client, the guest. They often see what leadership can’t from the top. Great leaders don’t just set direction. They stay grounded. They stay curious. They stay human. And when they do, they don’t just build companies, they change lives. That’s leadership worth aspiring to. #Leadership #PeopleFirst #FrontlineLeadership #ExecutiveLeadership #Culture #EmployeeExperience #ServantLeadership #HumanCenteredLeadership #PurposeDriven #ListenFirst

Just wrapped an incredible session with Google’s Retail Advisory Council, where CMOs from some of the world’s leading retailers - Target, Kohl’s, Sephora, Fanatics, and more - came together to discuss what’s next in retail. A few themes stood out loud and clear: - Quality > Quantity: Product feeds aren’t just plumbing—they’re brand. Images, descriptions, and video are now the front line of differentiation. - AI is the new workforce: We have a 24/7 team that never sleeps. The question isn’t if we’ll use AI agents across every function, but how fast we can build and scale them. - YouTube is the new prime time: Incremental TV reach still matters, but the next generation of brand building is happening on YouTube. - Personalization is non-negotiable: The industry is moving toward single-page, demand-led, fully personalized commerce experiences. My biggest takeaway? The future is here, it’s just not evenly distributed. Those who lean into AI, brand, and creative excellence today will set the pace for tomorrow. Curious: how are you bringing AI agents into your marketing org? And which part of your funnel do you think will be disrupted first?

A question that came up repeatedly at the Commerce Media Summit this week: What happens when AI becomes the front door to product discovery? Not search. Not social. AI. At Astral, we’ve been pressure-testing this with a simple exercise: If someone asks ChatGPT or Gemini what foundation is best for sensitive skin… would our products show up? Not “do we rank on Google.” But does AI understand our products well enough to recommend them? The honest answer surprised us: not consistently yet. Despite years of SEO investment, we discovered something important. AI doesn’t read brand storytelling the way humans do. It reads structured product data. Working with Novi, we’ve started looking at our product content through a completely different lens. A few early lessons: • Structured claims matter more than we realized. If benefits like “clean ingredients” or “safe for sensitive skin” aren’t clearly mapped in the data, AI struggles to connect the dots. • Clarity beats romance. Beautiful brand copy doesn’t always translate to AI models. Specificity around who a product is for, what concern it solves, and proof points matters more. • Consistency across the internet matters. AI pattern-matches across the entire web. Legacy naming, outdated listings, and fragmented product data create noise. My biggest takeaway so far: AI optimization isn’t a marketing tactic. It’s operational discipline around product data. We’re early and still learning — but it’s clear this shift in discovery is coming quickly. Appreciate the many smart conversations at the Commerce Media Summit pushing this thinking forward, and grateful to the Novi (www.noviconnect.com) team for helping us explore what comes next. Curious how others in beauty (or retail) are thinking about AI discovery vs traditional search. #CommerceMedia #AISearch #AgenticSearch #BeautyCommerce #DigitalCommerce #CMBsummit

If you’re feeling like retail media is getting more expensive and less differentiated, you’re not wrong. Not sure if you saw Mike Black's recent post from Profitero+ but they found in their data that more retail media spend literally does not equal more category share, especially for brands at the top. (link to post in comments) When everyone can “pay to play,” the edge comes from how well you integrate organic demand (SEO+GEO) and media. In July, we looked at a group of campaigns where brands combined creator-driven demand from ProductWind with retail media. Here’s what happened: +41K incremental product page views +60% conversion rate lift +7,000 incremental units sold +150 incremental reviews +45% improvement in paid media efficiency 320% total campaign ROI The takeaway is that organic demand + retail media work better together than either does alone.

What does the $2.4B acquisition mean for the CMOs and eCommerce leaders in lifestyle brands? 1) Dick's Locker? Dicks brings robust omnichannel infrastructure, integrated mobile apps, online inventory visibility, and click-and-collect at scale. Foot Locker adds sneaker and streetwear positioning, with deep cultural capital. A creator commerce engine (via its Impact.com-powered platform), enabling influencers to run affiliate storefronts and drive authentic community-driven sales. Combined, this creates an end-to-end commerce funnel from awareness (influencer storefronts) to transaction. An opportunity for brands to plug into a richer, more socially connected eCommerce channel 2) Foot Locker’s creator platform is one of the most advanced social commerce plays in retail. Under Dick’s, expect to expand across new categories (not just sneakers). Integrate with Dick’s app, website, and loyalty ecosystems. Increase brand visibility via influencer partnerships tied to measurable conversion metrics. 3) This merger also creates a more powerful retail media network and digital storefront. Enhanced search, paid placement, and promotion tools for brands. A competitive edge for those who can pay to play and optimize digital shelf presence. 4) Post-acquisition, shoppers will expect to: Browse online → try in-store → buy from either channel, frictionlessly. Use loyalty points, discounts, and customer profiles across Dick’s and Foot Locker seamlessly. Benefit from smarter fulfillment, such as buy online, pick up at the nearest store. Naturally, expect major tech stack consolidation #ecommerce #retail #omnichannel

Marketing's New Reality: Show Me the Money. "How do I prove my financial impact?" That's the #1 challenge for marketers, according to a new ADWEEK report. CMOs are laser-focused on revenue growth (48%) over brand awareness (24%), driven by economic worries and AI expectations. This shift means increased pressure on all of us to connect marketing efforts directly to the bottom line. While I will always admire the decades-long brand building of Nike and adidas, today's mandate is clear: be a "get-shit-done officer" for revenue. This push for measurable impact is what drove me to get sales experience. I wanted to understand, firsthand, how to build a pipeline and how marketing efforts were directly linked to revenue generation. Looking back, maybe I was ahead of the curve in seeing this coming. #MarketingLeadership #CMOChallenges #Marketing https://lnkd.in/gFCyQJZn
