Erica Gipson, PHR shared this❤️❤️Erica Gipson, PHR shared thisCan't stop smiling after this one. 😀 Chris is a cancer survivor, and his 4th birthday also marked his 9th month in remission. His parents told us how much they love Amazon and relied on Alexa during the difficult times in the hospital, so we surprised him for his special day. Happy birthday, Chris! 💙 https://lnkd.in/dSHtTBsM

We’re increasing pay by $2/hour in the U.S. for these employees – from current $15/hour or more. Additionally, we are also opening 100,000 new roles in our fulfillment centers and delivery network to meet the surge in demand from people relying on Amazon’s service during this time, particularly those most vulnerable to being out in public. https://lnkd.in/gBsv635

Erica Gipson, PHR shared thisErica Gipson, PHR shared thisPeople ask me all the time how to build great culture in a company .. here’s how: When you have an employee that makes all the other employees miserable, fire them. Even if he or she is your top salesperson, your best developer, or even your cofounder. If tell your people that you care about them, but you “look the other way” when certain employees are mean to everyone else, you’re sending a very clear message. Your dedication and support have been invaluable. I am incredibly excited for this next chapter, and I look forward to continuing to drive results, support my team, and motivate everyone around me to reach their full potential. Erica Gipson, PHR reacted on thisErica Gipson, PHR reacted on thisI used to joke with my Operations Mangers that they needed to be prepared to take my role because I was going to move to New Zealand. Just ask Tyler Wilson! This joke was born from a desire that my wife Michelle and I have had for many years. Well, we did it! I was recently accepted into University of Canterbury MBA program in Christchurch and will start in February. It has been an incredible (and somewhat stressful) adventure to get to Christchurch. While this has been a dream of mine for as long as I can remember, actually pulling the trigger and taking the leap was much harder than I imagined it would be. We are settled in, with our two kids starting High School here this week and I am ready to explore and challenge myself in a new place. Plus we met New Zealand legend Andy Serkis so this move has already paid off! I'm leaving many things behind, but for my career, I'm leaving my entire network of colleagues and friends. I'm thankful to have worked for and with so many great leaders at amazing companies. I would appreciate words of encouragement and perhaps some references as I begin again here! Erica Gipson, PHR liked thisErica Gipson, PHR liked thisDon’t enjoy your job? Change it. “Oh, but Gary… it’s a really good-paying job.” So suck it up and get your joy elsewhere. Listen, you’re a grown ass adult. This is called life. Ain’t nobody gonna f*cking hear your complaining that’s gonna be productive. You’re strong, you’re capable .. you’re allowed to quit, try some other sh*t, fail at it, and then go get a job that’s similar or the same with your tail between your legs .. and it’s all good. That’s not failure .. actually, that’s strength. You quitting and trying to make yourself happier and then losing, and then going back to a job .. I admire that. What I don’t admire is dwelling. Action, my friends. Either take the action of sucking it the f*ck up, like we all do in many parts of our lives, and f*cking get your joy elsewhere .. or have the courage to chase a dream and get the f*ck out. And then don’t be scared of losing, because if you lose in whatever the f*ck your alternative is, you go back and get a job. That’s called being a real man or woman! I believe in you, now go believe in yourself.

Erica Gipson, PHR liked thisErica Gipson, PHR liked thisAnyone that knows me, knows my dog is my world. From the rescue I have now, from my time as a K9 handler and every dog in between, they have taught me so much. From my dogs, I’ve learned that the most meaningful communication isn’t in the words we choose, but in the emotions we share. It's an unspoken language of presence, tone, and intention that speaks louder than anything we can say. They’ve shown me that providing structure and routine is more than just habit; it’s a gift that creates security, trust, and a sense of belonging. In their company, I’ve discovered the value of slowing down, savoring the smallest moments. Whether it's a quiet morning, a shared glance, or the simple joy of being together. They remind me to express love freely and often, because life is too short to hold it back, and to breathe through frustration or anger, knowing that moments of tension are fleeting. Their lives pass far too quickly, and in the brief time we share, they ask for so little and give so much. Above all, they have taught me that unconditional love is both the simplest and the most profound gift we can give and receive.

To all my HR colleagues and those recently impacted by layoffs at Amazon or anywhere else in tech this one's for you. 💙 When one door closes, two more open. As you navigate this season of transition, take a moment to reflect on everything that was missing in your last role the recognition, the balance, the fulfillment and trust that what's next can bring all of that and more. I've been in your shoes. I know the uncertainty feels heavy. But I can tell you firsthand: the grass truly is greener on the other side. You just have to water it. :) Seek intentionally. Rest when you need to. And walk into your next opportunity knowing your worth. Your best chapter hasn't been written yet. 🙏 #OpenToWork #TechLayoffs #HRCommunity #CareerTransition #YouGotThis #HumanResources #

As I’ve been navigating the current job market, I’ve become genuinely curious about today’s interview processes. Is everyone experiencing multiple rounds of interviews spanning 3+ weeks before a decision is made? One thing I can honestly say I appreciated during my time at Amazon was the efficiency of the hiring process. You interviewed with multiple interviewers within one scheduled panel, and typically knew the outcome within a few days. It respected both the company’s time and the candidate’s time. I understand companies want to make the right hiring decisions, but I’m interested in hearing different perspectives: Have longer interview processes become the new normal? Do you feel multiple rounds actually lead to better hiring outcomes? What’s been the most effective interview process you’ve experienced? Curious to hear thoughts from my network and fellow professionals navigating the market.

Change is hard. Let's be honest about that. When you lose staff to cuts, you grieve the relationships and the potential left unrealized. When you lose leaders to promotions, you celebrate their success while wondering who will guide you through what's next. When you lose peers to new opportunities, you're genuinely happy for them—and quietly anxious about the gap they leave behind. The truth is, you can hold multiple feelings at once: You want to be happy, but you feel the weight of loss. You want to be hopeful, but you're scared of what's coming. You want to trust it will all work out, but you need reassurance that you're not alone in this. Here's what I've learned: It's okay to feel one, some, or all of these things. Your feelings are valid. Your uncertainty is human. Change doesn't ask for permission. But how we move through it—with grace for ourselves and compassion for those around us—that's within our control. We're all navigating changes together. Be kind to yourself today.

Global strategy always looks clear on a slide. But it looks different through a local lens. Recently, I spent some time in Sydney and Melbourne, visiting sites and connecting with teams. Moments like these are always a powerful reminder that you can’t fully understand execution from a distance. Being on the ground gives you a level of cultural precision you simply can’t access remotely. You start to see how decisions actually land, how priorities are interpreted, and how local context shapes the way work gets done. Each visit adds another set of multifocal lenses to how you see the organization. And over time, those lenses change how you approach global strategy. Because the nuances matter. Often, they’re where the best ideas emerge. Thank you to the teams who welcomed the conversations with openness, candor, and expertise. Your perspective truly makes the difference.

As HR Business Partners, we sit at the intersection of strategy and people — shaping outcomes by translating business goals into human-centered actions. 🌐🤝 Strategy + People: balancing short-term operational needs with long-term culture work. 🎯🏛️ Coaching leaders to lead with empathy and clarity. 🗣️💡 Designing experiences that enable performance and growth. 🛠️📈 Using people data to surface trends while honoring individual stories. 📊❤️ Being intentional about inclusion, career mobility, and psychological safety. 🌍↔️🔒 Acting as the connective tissue during change — aligning communication, capability building, and adoption. 🔗📣🔄 The most powerful moves are often small and consistent: a better 1:1, clearer role expectations, a learning path that matches career intent. ✨📅 How are you showing up as a strategic partner in your organization this quarter? 👇

Something I’ve learned as I’ve transitioned companies and roles… You really find out who your PEOPLE are when you leave a job, for whatever reason. ❤️ It’s the ones who check in on you, ask about your family, genuinely want to know how you’re doing, and make the effort to stay connected even when you’re no longer working alongside each other. Because the truth is, some relationships were never just about the job title, the company, or sitting in the same office. They were about the connection, the conversations, the support, and the genuine bond you built along the way. Those are your PEOPLE. The ones who remind you that relationships built on authenticity extend far beyond the workplace. Careers change. Companies change. Seasons change. But genuine people will always find a way to stay connected. Never take those relationships for granted. ❤️

Recognition doesn't always have to come from a formal performance review or a high-five in a channel. Sometimes, the most powerful validation is the one that comes from within. Inspired by the energy and the spirit of self-advocacy, it’s time to shift the narrative on how we view success in the workplace. We often wait for a "seat at the table" or a title change to feel accomplished, but the real win is the resilience built during the "quiet" seasons. The Growth is in the Grind: Every difficult conversation navigated and every complex project managed is a testament to your evolving skill set. Self-Validation is Sustainable: Relying solely on external praise is a rollercoaster. Owning your impact provides a steady foundation for long-term career satisfaction. Authenticity is a Superpower: Walking into a room knowing exactly what you bring to the table changes the energy of the entire team. To the Leaders and Peers: Let’s make it a habit to celebrate our teams, but let’s also encourage them to celebrate themselves. When we acknowledge our own worth, we set a standard for how we expect to be treated and how we show up for others. Today’s win doesn’t need a trophy..it just needs to be seen. Claim your space, acknowledge your hard work, and keep pushing forward.🔥

Excited to share that Guild is now a partner for Amazon's Career Choice program, helping hourly employees access structured development pathways into Reliability & Maintenance Engineering (RME) technician roles — because the strongest talent pipelines often start with developing the people already on your team. A special shoutout to Amaris B., who led this work from start to finish. Your vision, persistence, and partnership-building made this a reality. Congrats, Amaris — and thank you to our Career Choice and Guild partners. #CareerChoice #Amazon #WorkforceDevelopment #WeAreRME #Guild You can learn more here: https://bit.ly/3Tzzimd
