Elwin Wong shared thisHuge congrats to Echo for exiting stealth today! With $15M in seed and led by second timers Eilon Elhadad and Eylam Milner, the company is building vulnerability-free container images to make secure-by-design infrastructure the standard. Within just 6 months, echo has built a solution that's fundamentally changing the security landscape, with many major global enterprises already actively using their clean images. Can’t wait for what’s in store, and thrilled to be along for the ride.Elwin Wong shared thisHEAR THAT?! echo is officially out of stealth!!!! We’ve raised $15M in seed funding, backed by Notable Capital, Hyperwise Ventures and SVCI - Silicon Valley CISO Investments, to solve the greatest pain in cloud security. Companies like UiPath, Vectra AI, and EDB are already using our vulnerability-free container base images to secure their infrastructure, and this is just the beginning. Ready to secure your foundations? Let’s do this 💪

Elwin Wong shared thisCongrats Murali Basavaiah, Ashish Shah, and the Andromeda Security team! So excited to see your tremendous progress over the last year and the strong trajectory as you continue to move forward.Elwin Wong shared thisAndromeda Security announced a significant milestone today at the RSA Conference in San Francisco - we are emerging from stealth mode. We are at the #RSAC Early Stage Expo (booth # ESE-11), where you can meet the team and learn more about Andromeda Security. Our journey started over a year ago, driven by the alarming fact that 74% of security breaches stem from identity-related issues. When an identity compromise happens, a user’s excessive privileges can seriously impact your business. Recognizing the need for a more robust solution, we embarked on creating an AI-powered identity security platform. Our goal is to empower enterprise security teams to defend against human and non-human identity breaches effectively. Our solution automates identity permissions and lifecycle using context, risk, and behavioral analysis. Be sure to explore our website andromedasecurity.com, where you can sign up for early access. Special thanks to our investors, designer partners, and early customers for believing in our vision. And a big shout-out to team Andromeda – you're amazing. This is just the start, and we're thrilled about what lies ahead.Andromeda: Identity Security & Governance for the Agentic EraAndromeda: Identity Security & Governance for the Agentic Era

Elwin Wong liked thisElwin Wong liked thisPluto Security comes out of stealth with $42 million to secure the AI tools employees build Pluto Security, a cybersecurity startup with teams in the United States and Israel, has come out of stealth with $42 million in total funding, TechCrunch reported on October 13. Investors: Jump Capital led a $34 million Series A, with participation from Skinos Ventures, the firm of Shlomo Kramer, Ansa Capital, and several angel investors who were not named. TLV Partners led an earlier $8.5 million seed round, which also drew investment from the cofounders of Armis. The valuation was not disclosed. Founders: Shahar Bahat is cofounder and CEO. In the company's launch post, she wrote that a year ago Pluto was only an idea. Product: Pluto monitors the AI tools that employees use and build, including skills, extensions, MCP servers, and the apps and agents they create themselves. It flags risky components, watches agents for risky behavior, and enforces company policies without blocking the use of AI. Because it runs on employees' devices, it can step in during a task, for example by stopping an agent that asks for extra permissions or prompting it to request confirmation. Pluto also offers Plutonium, a free tool that lets anyone check public AI skills, connectors, and extensions for risks. Traction (company reported): Pluto began selling in April 2026. According to TechCrunch, it now has more than $2 million in annual recurring revenue and more than 30 enterprise customers, including Oscar Health, Workato, Sixt and AlphaSense. The company says it protects more than 1.5 million endpoints, and about 70% of its sales pipeline is inbound. It employs 40 people. Use of funds: product development, security research, and growth in the United States. Key quote: "We're moving from user behavior to agent behavior," Bahat told TechCrunch. Congratulations to Shahar Bahat and the Pluto Security team. Follow The Startup Times for daily startup funding, venture capital, and cybersecurity coverage.

Elwin Wong liked thisElwin Wong liked thisDescope is on the Fortune Cyber 60 list for the fourth year in a row! To prepare this list, Fortune, Lightspeed and AWS Startups evaluated over 300 companies, considering factors like business growth, product innovation, and independent CISO analysis. With every passing year, more and more questions lead back to identity. "How do I improve signups and user conversion without sacrificing security?" "How do I move upmarket while satisfying enterprise customer demands?" "How do I securely accept AI agents acting on users' behalf?" We're committed to helping our customers answer these questions, and any new ones that come up (because identity is probably the answer). Link to our announcement is in the comments 👇

That’s exactly what Act delivers. We turn findings into real action you can take with confidence. For our customers, that means no more chasing endless patches. Your SOC 2 Type II report doesn't stop lateral movement. If your GRC platform can't tie third-party API keys directly to live EDR telemetry during a vendor breach, your compliance posture creates blind spots. The trap: Organizations map controls to ISO 27001 or NIST CSF in spreadsheets, pass audits with checkbox theater, then fail catastrophically when a third-party vendor breach exposes gaps between documented policies and live security telemetry. Real GRC competence demands live correlation between ITGC testing results, SIEM threat feeds, and vendor risk questionnaires. When a supply chain compromise hits, the GRC Analyst must instantly trace which third-party access tokens are live, what ITGC controls failed validation, and which SOC 2 attestations were cosmetic while incident command demands containment SLAs under 120 seconds. Foundation courses teach the doctrine: OCEG GRC Professional (GRCP) establishes the GRC Capability Model for integrating governance, risk, and compliance across organizational functions. CompTIA CySA+ trains proactive threat detection and continuous monitoring disciplines. EC-Council CTIA develops systematic threat intelligence lifecycle methodologies for translating external threat intelligence into third-party risk assessments. But theory breaks under fire. In SecNav Simulation SECM-3158 (Audit Breach: HELIX-RELAY), elevated vendor tokens are pulling customer PII while SOC 2 attestation reports cleared compliance forty-eight days ago. Analysts must correlate vendor access logs, ITGC validation failures, and SOC 2 attestation gaps against live SIEM threat feeds to identify patient zero and quantify regulatory exposure under live incident command pressure. When audit reports say compliant but SIEM logs show compromised vendor tokens, does your GRC team trust the paper or chase the evidence?

The Insider Threat Time Bomb: Why Your DLP Is Failing and How to Stop the Next 18,000-File Heist Introduction: The recent incident where a terminated Intel software engineer allegedly exfiltrated 18,000 top-secret files underscores a critical vulnerability in modern cybersecurity: the failure of traditional Data Loss Prevention (DLP) to detect malicious insider activity. This event, juxtaposed with Orion Security's reported prevention of a 5,000-file theft, highlights a paradigm shift from rule-based blocking to context-aware, intelligent monitoring. This article deconstructs the technical signals of data exfiltration and provides a actionable guide for building a more resilient defense....

Cybersecurity isn’t just an IT issue—it’s a governance issue. Boards and senior management are expected to oversee cyber risk just like any other enterprise risk. Weak oversight can expose directors and officers to potential liability. 🔗 https://ow.ly/E5fF50VsTmI

Most third-party risk programs still treat credential leaks as trivia, not incidents. We keep noticing how teams bury dark web credential exposures from vendors under compliance checklists. While everyone’s counting questionnaire answers, real access is being traded. SpyCloud's data shows exposed vendor identities are still flying under most radars — even after malware or phishing events. For SOC teams, this means: • attackers walk in through trusted identities • alerts trigger from internal compromise, not supply chain • real risk arrives before your GRC dashboard blinks Question for CISOs or SOC leads: 👉 Who owns response when your vendor's credentials compromise your perimeter?

When GRC is treated as only a checklist, the certificate gets framed but exposure remains. There is no real-time risk visibility, regulatory pressure increases, security investments lose direction and incident response maturity stays low. If your GRC program is built for audit season, it is time to rethink it. At YOTTABYTE, we do not implement one-size-fits-all frameworks. We align governance with your business value chain, map controls to your real threat exposure and regulatory landscape, measure operational control maturity and embed continuous assurance into your operating model. #GRC #Governance #RiskManagement #ISO27001 #SOC2 #NCA #SAMA #CyberSecurity #Yottabyte

One of the most frustrating CISA questions looks something like this: You discover a control weakness. You have evidence. Management needs to know about it. The business wants remediation. Four answers can sound reasonable. The question isn't asking whether you know what an audit finding is. It's asking what should happen first. That's why someone can know the CISA material and still repeatedly miss questions. The weakness isn't necessarily knowledge. It can be decision sequencing. And that's exactly the kind of gap that gets lost when preparation is reduced to an overall practice score. know Your current readiness at https://lnkd.in/gFgtGK6T

As regulatory pressure intensifies across critical infrastructure, compliance automation is being positioned as the answer. Automated evidence. One-click integrations. Accelerated audits. But audit readiness is not the same as operational resilience. Our CEO and Founder, Ian Yip, has published a new perspective on a growing issue in cyber governance. In his article, Ian explores the rise of commoditised trust and why automation without strategic judgement risks creating security-for-show rather than defensible resilience. In 2026, resilience won’t be measured by how clean your audit report looks, but by how well you can defend your decisions under scrutiny. Read the full article here: https://lnkd.in/gUdQGDaG
