I met Robert and Uri at the start of 2011 and Caesars Interactive acquired Playtika just a few months later. From that moment on, it has been quite the journey—from the 2016 sale and our 2021 IPO to the 12+ acquisitions we’ve made along the way. That said, I had to make a hard personal decision and now is the time to take a break (starting in April). I’m looking forward to investing my time and energy into my family, and taking the space to think and reflect before I take on my next professional challenge. The return of Fortnite to mobile and the new launch of Fall Guys mobile + awesome in game incentives are designed to motivate players through an awful 12-15 step install process. The process is designed to make users quit before getting to the end and it sucks. That said it’s not going to stop us moving forward. We’re leading with our games now to pull through as many Epic Games Store mobile installs as possible prior to welcoming third party games to EGS in Q4. After players are pulled through the install friction getting additional apps is familiar 1-2 step install process for players and we want to set up our third party partners for success. It’s a shame things are this way - but - onward. It starts today. It’s been an amazing run – 3 years leading Game Tech engineers and product teams, 3 years leading the Worldwide Specialist Org, and the past year leading the largest transformation of AWS history – all of which were career-defining experiences. I’m incredibly grateful to a long list of people – starting with Michael Frazzini and all the Amazon Games teams; the entire WW Specialist Org; the Sales, Marketing, and Global Services Leadership Team; and of course Matt Garman, who managed me on both the Services and GTM sides of the business. I’m thrilled to have experienced everything that Amazon has to offer – it’s been a mind-expanding and humbling experience to have helped take AWS from a $12B run rate to over $100B in just 7 years! – and I’m super-excited for the next chapter in my journey...but not yet ready to share details. Please stay tuned! For now, I’ll be taking some time off to enjoy the summer with family and friends…with one eye on what I’m sure will be an amazing next chapter for AWS. It was awesome to see so much positive energy on campus across all of the UCLA commencement ceremonies this weekend! Tens of thousands of proud parents, families and friends showing love to the graduates! It was a special feeling sharing a few of my learnings with the graduates while staring up from the Tennis Stadium stage into the sun setting over my Freshman dorm, Dykstra Hall! Creators can accelerate discovery: or expose a studio to operational chaos. Access builds, embargoes, disclosures, community expectations, regional requirements, and rapid feedback all need to work together. A missed handoff can affect launch momentum, reputation, and the relationship with the players a studio is trying to reach.
