About us

SafetyWing is building the first global safety net for remote companies, remote workers and nomads worldwide. Our products are built and designed by a fully remote team of nomads distributed across three continents. Starting with Nomad Insurance - a travel medical insurance for nomads, and our most recent product, Remote Health - comprehensive health insurance available for remote companies and individuals worldwide. We are building out a product collection of insurance, pension savings and income protection - that in the future will be available as a membership.

So much about our culture is contrarian to popular advice. Shorter meeting times? ⏰ Nope. Our 60-person strategy team meets for 1.5 hours twice a week. Pay top 💸 for executives, and everyone else the low end of the market? Nope. Our entire 60-person strategy team earns THE SAME SALARY, from designers to the CRO. And yet, SafetyWing has one of the most incredible cultures of anywhere I have worked. I asked our co-founder, Sarah Sandnes, about this and she said that when people complain about long meetings, they don't think about canceling them - they ask, how can we make them better? Sarah is going to be leading some of our upcoming webinars for HR professionals about benefits and company culture. You'd be crazy not to hear what she has to say. Post "Gimme!" in the comments and I will drop a link to our webinar RSVP form. #humanresources #companyculture #peopleteams #startups #ycombinator

  • "In SafetyWing’s grand vision, the goal is a boundaryless life — purchasable freedom from migration restrictions, immovable homelands, and what they consider to be arbitrary rules decreed by sclerotic public governments." We have just wrapped up our month-long popup embassy, and Cydney Hayes of Gazetteer perfectly encapsulated our long term vision after her stop by the embassy. "Culturally, SafetyWing’s internet country would be filled with dinner parties, AI education, and pop-up maker spaces — like Airbnb Experiences, except all the time, as a lifestyle. The values upon which SafetyWing citizens would align, Razavi said, line up with the average tech striver: “pro-tech, pro-immigration, and globally minded.” Most of all, the citizenry would embrace a rapid societal restructuring orchestrated solely by tech investors."
