“This is one place that represents the magic of McKinsey. It’s bringing together this talent, showing that McKinsey is more than consulting." - Alexandre, expert associate partner and festival co-organizer. Welcome to the McKinsey Music Festival. 🎶 Colleagues of all tenures and paths, from all corners of the globe, gathered in Kitzbühel, Austria to make something remarkable together. They took up flutes, violas, saxophones and timpani drumsticks. Senior leaders shared music stands with new joiners. Project managers ran scales with data analysts. Working until all hours of the night and then staying up even later to have fun jamming together, they created a symphonic orchestra, choir, and jazz big band, along with acoustic, funk, and rock ‘n’ roll ensembles…in just three days. #McKCareers

AI is a powerful tool, but tools don’t come with judgment, values, or accountability. Leaders do. In Fortune, senior partner Carolyn Dewar focusses on three practical leadership moves for this moment: • Build trust so fear doesn’t quietly shrink ambition • Use AI as an input, not a default answer • Keep humans at the center of values-based judgments The future should not be decided by code. It has to be shaped by leaders willing to decide if, when, and how AI serves people — and to keep exercising judgment as the technology evolves. 🔗 Read the full column here: https://bit.ly/4kmwIJJ [Subscription required]

What should leaders really take away from Davos, and what should they act on now? The leadership mandate keeps getting harder. Not incrementally, but structurally. A shifting geopolitical order. Electoral volatility. Trade realignments. Persistent supply-chain fragility. And threading through all of it, AI—reshaping how decisions are made, how work gets done, and how value is created. Leaders are being asked to decide faster, with less certainty, and with higher stakes. Resilience matters, but so does the ability to see and create opportunity amid change. Listen to our latest McKinsey Live with Becca Coggins and Shelley Stewart III, as they debrief on the key themes from the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting in Davos and share what they signal for business leaders in 2026. https://lnkd.in/eRUwJ89v #WEF26 #Davos

Automation is often framed as a talent risk, but recent research from the McKinsey Global Institute points to a more nuanced reality: while more than half of US work hours could be automated, most skills remain relevant—applied differently and increasingly in partnership with AI. For leaders, the priority is shifting skills: investing in AI fluency, judgment, and collaboration, and redesigning work so people and intelligent systems create value together.
