McGraw Hill reposted this
Such a pleasure to meet McGraw Hill's Pathfinder Award winner Dr. Michael McShane at Penn State University last week. His LION Mobile Clinic is a powerful example of innovation driving outcomes— every week he and his team pull together students and faculty across disciplines (engineering, veterinary , neuroscience...) to deliver health care in rural communities while creating hands-on learning opportunities for students. Students I met on campus have clearly been shaped by these experiences, many inspired to pursue careers focused on policy or rural medicine. This is a home-grown operation, driven by the hard work and passion of Dr. McShane, his team and his students. It’s a model worth paying attention to. It shows how universities can meaningfully impact communities while engaging students across disciplines. #RedCubeProud

Teaching has never been one size fits all. It’s about understanding human life in motion. AI can support teachers to help them meet each student where they are, but it can’t replicate the encouragement, the relationships, or the moments of breakthrough that educators create every day. That work is human. And it’s irreplaceable. Learn how we’re building human intelligence by keeping teachers at the center of our approach to AI: https://bit.ly/48B3L97

Literacy becomes powerful when students see themselves in what they read. At Paterson Public School #16, Sonja Capers uses storytelling, performance, and creative projects to help students build confidence and take ownership of their learning. Her approach goes beyond reading and writing, helping students develop the skills to express themselves and navigate the world around them. That work earned her recognition as a 2026 McGraw Hill Pathfinder Award winner.
