We partner with exceptional entrepreneurs to build companies that redefine physical industries.

About us

Eclipse invests in entrepreneurs building the next generation of companies in the physical economy — the industries that shape resilience, competitiveness, and security. We partner with founders tackling hard problems in sectors like manufacturing, supply chain/logistics, energy, transportation, and defense. These businesses operate in complex environments where technology, operations, and policy intersect — and where execution matters. We're Operators with Capital. Our team brings firsthand experience building factories, shipping hardware, scaling supply chains, and navigating the regulatory realities that shape the essential economy. We work closely with portfolio companies to sharpen strategy, pressure-test technology, recruit leaders, win early customers, and reach critical milestones. Beyond capital, Eclipse offers access to a broader ecosystem of operators, manufacturers, industry leaders, customers, and government stakeholders who help companies move faster and scale smarter. We back ambitious founders building enduring companies in the physical industries.

  • Building a company from scratch takes more than a bold vision. It takes the right people, a strong culture, and the ability to move quickly when there’s no playbook to follow. When Eclipse Partner Jiten Behl joined Rivian in 2015, the company had big ambitions but little of the infrastructure needed to bring them to life. That experience shaped how he approaches building companies and advising founders today. In the latest installment of our Operators with Capital series, Jiten shares actionable lessons founders can apply from day one: - Own your early hiring. Your first hires don't just fill roles. They shape your culture, attract future talent, and set the foundation for growth. - Recognize mistakes and course-correct quickly. Early-stage companies can't afford to let the wrong decisions linger. Speed and decisiveness matter. - Communicate your vision relentlessly. Building a strong culture requires consistent communication, clear expectations, and leadership by example. These are just a few of the lessons Jiten learned helping build Rivian from the ground up and now puts to work alongside Eclipse founders. • Robotics and physical AI companies raised $33.4 billion in the first half of 2026 alone, surpassing all of last year's funding. However, turning that investment into real-world impact is another challenge entirely. As Eclipse Partner Charly M. told Business Insider's Rya Jetha: “The most difficult part of physical AI is the physical part.” In the first installment of Business Insider's new Robonomics series, Charly discusses the challenges ahead as robotics companies move from promising lab demonstrations to reliable, scalable deployments. The Eclipse team has long believed in the transformative potential of robotics and physical AI. Through our investments in companies like The Bot Company and Genesis AI, we're backing teams tackling some of the hardest challenges in bringing intelligent machines into the physical world. The opportunity is enormous, but success will require more than breakthrough technology: It'll take deep operating expertise, disciplined execution, and the ability to build and scale in the real world. • From whiteboard to worksite to industrial scale. Congratulations to Bedrock Robotics on its $600M Series C at a $4.1B valuation, marking another major milestone in its mission to transform how the world builds. Bedrock's story is a powerful example of what can happen when exceptional founders, deep technical expertise, and hands-on company building come together. Before Bedrock was even formed, Eclipse Partners Aidan Madigan-Curtis and Ryan Gibson worked alongside Boris Sofman and Kevin Peterson to identify where autonomy could have the greatest impact, shape the company's go-to-market strategy, and build the foundation for rapid execution. Together, we helped turn an ambitious idea into a company tackling one of the most pressing challenges facing physical industries: The skilled labor shortage constraining our ability to build critical infrastructure. The progress since has been remarkable. From prototype in six months to fully autonomous excavators performing paid work on commercial job sites, Bedrock is now expanding deployments across the country, with its customer base more than doubling since 2025. This is what building from day zero is all about. Not just backing a vision, but helping turn it into a business positioned to scale. Congratulations to Boris, Kevin, Tom, Ajay, and the entire Bedrock team! More from Bloomberg's Edward Ludlow: https://bit.ly/3TUIFOc Our story of building Bedrock: https://bit.ly/4za2XCl

  • In a recent episode of Technovation with Metis Strategy’s Peter High, Eclipse Founder and CEO Lior Susan discusses why the convergence of AI, robotics, and advanced manufacturing is creating an unprecedented opportunity to transform the physical industries that underpin our economy. From making domestic manufacturing more competitive to addressing AI’s growing energy and compute demands, Lior shares why building the next generation of industrial leaders requires more than capital. It takes deep operating expertise, a long-term perspective, and an understanding of what it takes to build and scale companies in the physical world. It’s the conviction Eclipse was founded on more than a decade ago, and one we believe is more relevant than ever. For the full conversation: https://bit.ly/4zgg6Kj

  • What does it take to build a company that can transform a physical industry? For Eclipse Partner Ryan Gibson, the answer starts well before the first product ships. On a recent episode of Venture with Grace, Ryan joined Grace Gong to discuss lessons from co-founding and scaling Kojo, why market selection and customer obsession are critical to building enduring businesses, and how those experiences inform his work with founders at Eclipse today. He also shares a behind-the-scenes look at our partnership with Bedrock Robotics, from helping shape the company's earliest strategy to working alongside the team to bring autonomy to construction. The conversation also explores the Eclipse Economy and how the shared expertise, resources, and relationships across our portfolio can help companies build and scale faster. It's a great look at what we mean by Operators with Capital and why we believe the most valuable partnerships go far beyond the investment. Watch the full conversation: https://bit.ly/4BpVLE0

  • From company formation to more than $1B in customer commitments in just three years. That's the pace at which Peak Energy is building. Today, Peak announced an oversubscribed $108M Series B led by GM Ventures, with participation from Eclipse and other investors, to accelerate its next phase of growth. Since its founding in 2023, Peak has moved quickly to turn a fundamentally better approach to energy storage into a commercial reality. The company has secured major customer commitments, established a strategic partnership with General Motors, and unveiled a 4 GWh manufacturing facility in Sacramento, with production expected to begin in Q1 2027. Its passively cooled sodium-ion systems are designed to deliver safer, simpler, and more affordable energy storage, with the potential to reduce energy costs by up to 20%. As demand for power accelerates across the grid and AI infrastructure, the need for solutions that can scale quickly and economically has never been greater. The Eclipse team has been proud to help Peak build from the earliest stages, bringing together company-building expertise and deep manufacturing experience to support the team as it moves toward industrial scale. • Yesterday, the Eclipse team stepped away from our desks and into the garden for an afternoon of giving back! We joined forces with HandsOn Bay Area at Eleanor Community Gardens in Palo Alto, rolling up our sleeves to weed, clear plots, spread mulch, and help beautify a space that brings the local community together. Grateful for the opportunity to support a wonderful community resource, spend time together outside the office, and give back to the place we call home. Thank you to HandsOn Bay Area for having us!

  • Autonomous aviation is moving closer to commercial reality, and Reliable Robotics Corporation is helping lead the way. Today, the company announced an additional $115 million in funding, bringing its Series D to $275 million and pushing its valuation past $1 billion. Since Eclipse first invested in Reliable's Series B, the company has made significant strides toward bringing autonomous aviation to market. From advancing FAA certification and securing contracts with multiple branches of the U.S. military to expanding its operations with new offices in Seattle and San Diego, Reliable continues to build momentum across commercial and defense aviation. At the heart of that progress is a practical approach to autonomy: Developing safety-enhancing technology that integrates with existing aircraft and aviation infrastructure, creating a path to widespread adoption without requiring an overhaul of the aviation system. Congratulations to Robert Rose, Juerg Frefel, and the entire Reliable Robotics team on this milestone. We're proud to support their mission to make aviation safer, more accessible, and more scalable.
