  • We're celebrating our King's Parliamentary Research Interns and the incredible work they have done this year with a Celebration in Parliament today!   Each doctoral researcher has been working with a member of the House of Lords on research, policy and bridging knowledge between their PhD and the world of policy.   Thank you to our interns for all their brilliant work, our Peers who trust us to engage in the programme with them and to our partners at The Policy Institute who make this programme happen!

We have begun the process of recruiting to a critical post in King’s Employer Engagement, leading our Employer Relations & Insights team from this autumn. It's a bittersweet recruitment - as it means we'll be bidding farewell to Phil Hardcastle who has been fulfilling this significant brief since 2018 but also a great opportunity for someone to help us in the next phase of our employer relations focus towards King's Strategy 2030. We pride ourselves on being the trusted partner of choice in sourcing and developing diverse talent for organisations around the world. Our Employer Relations & Development unit develop, manage and build relationships with corporates, SMEs, business chambers, non-profit organisations, NGOs and government agencies across all sectors on a global scale developing partnerships to enhance opportunity development and labour market intelligence for our stakeholders. This role will lead the team, managing our Advisers and developing our account management. They will maximise the range of career development opportunities provided to our audiences and be constantly seeking new ways to engage employers and develop long-term partnerships.   Alongside, they will drive our domestic labour market intelligence gathering and ensure this is shared within the department, across King’s to our faculty and leadership and to our service users to shape programme development and institutional strategy. I'd welcome discussions with anyone interested in the post, so please do get in touch - or you can find full details at https://lnkd.in/eV5qRkem Deadline: Sunday 28 June, 23:59 BST #Recruitment #JobOpportunity #BuildingSuccess #KingsCareers #EmployerEngagement

  • King's has won Graduate Initiative of the Year at inaugural UK-China Business Awards for work supporting Chinese students! 🎉 Recognising the need to support students in an increasingly competitive graduate job market, this award celebrates institutions which have gone the extra mile to support student employability skills, expanding access to opportunities and supporting graduates in achieving sustainable career success. We will be back in China this August for another year of our fairs across four major cities, and our next cohort of offer holders and students are embarking on our Insights: China experiential learning project right now! #KingsCareers #BuildingSuccess #AwardWinning #CareersInChina #KingsInChina

🎉 Awards success continues for King's Careers & Employability at UK-China Business Awards 🎉 King's Careers & Employability has won 'Graduate Initiative of the Year' at the inaugural UK-China Business Awards, hosted by the China-Britain Business Council in London on 21 May. Topping off a season of awards success for the department, who were also named HE Careers & Employability Team of the Year at this year's targetjobs UK National Emerging Talent Awards in April, and saw a record 11 finalists for the targetjobs Undergraduate of the Year, the 'Graduate Employability Initiative of the Year' Award recognises a university or organisation which has demonstrated exceptional commitment to preparing Chinese graduates for successful, meaningful careers. Recognising the need to support students in an increasingly competitive graduate job market, this award celebrates institutions which have gone the extra mile to support student employability skills, expanding access to opportunities and supporting graduates in achieving sustainable career success. King's Associate Director (Employer Engagement & Work-based Learning), Andrew Wright commented: "Our work strengthening graduate success for our Chinese students and graduates has been an ambitious new challenge for King's Careers & Employability and our international strategy. Without the significant additional resources which other universities have enjoyed, we've built an award-winning programme of events including the UK's largest in-country careers fairs and a unique experiential learning project - we're delighted this work is being recognised so clearly at both national and international levels, and congratulate all our other shortlisted institutions for their work also."
