VAL (VALERIE) is a Companion in The Outer Worlds 2. Val is Niles' support drone that helps in Earth Directorate missions. Companions will join you on your journey as you complete missions and travel to various Locations. Each companion features a unique storyline that is now integrated into the main story. The companions are affected by actions and all decisions made while they are traveling with you, and some actions may cause them to leave if they disapprove or disagree with your actions.

Even though Val is not a humanoid companion, she offers several unique support abilities, and Val's AI-driven personality makes her efficient and her combat abilities during battles.
Like every Companions in The Outer Worlds 2, Val will have her own unique abilities, background, equipment preferences, as well as her faction alignment. You will have the option to shape Val's story through combat, dialogue, and your choices.
