Pragmatic Play has been quite busy releasing new titles to their already extensive collection of live dealer games - and their latest focus has been on roulette games.
Mega Roulette was released in early 2021, and even though it was one of Pragmatic Play’s first tries in the live roulette casinos world, it’s evident at first glance that this is a trendy release. It adopts the familiar ‘game show’ look and feel, and the dealer takes on the role of an entertainer rather than the typical croupier. Unlike Pragmatic Play’s other roulette games such as Azure Roulette, Mega Roulette has a more dynamic and exciting look and feel. Most of its features are aimed at entertainment, and with involved dealers and fast-paced feature-enhanced gameplay, it’s not meant to be a straightforward game of European roulette.
Pragmatic Play aims to attract more players with this game, and even though it uses the European wheel, it offers multiplier payouts of up to 500x the bet. It supports dozens of currencies, including INR, and 20 UI languages, including Hindi. Moreover, the game is fully compatible with all mobile devices, and the streams are HD and lag-free. Mega Roulette Features
As we previously mentioned, Mega Roulette is primarily designed as a direct competitor to Evolution Gaming’s Lightning Roulette - so the game mechanics are pretty similar. There are a few differences in the design and interface, though, which are worth pointing out. The studio uses green-screen technology, and the lucky numbers are clearly displayed in the background. The croupier doesn’t spin the wheel manually, but the game uses an auto-rotating wheel, and players have 20 seconds to place a bet between spins.
During each spin, up to five random ‘lucky’ numbers are selected, and they’re assigned a random multiplier with values starting from 50x all the way to 500x. The multiplier implies how many times a straight-up wager will be multiplied if the ball lands in that pocket. The numbers are displayed in the background, and if you have a straight-up bet on one of them - you’re in for a big payout, or what Pragmatic Play likes to call it - a ‘mega payout’.
For example, if you place a straight-up bet of $1 on ‘black 22’ and the number is chosen as a lucky number and gets a multiplier of 200x, and the ball lands in the ‘black 22’ pocket, you’ll win $200.
What’s interesting is that the wheel always starts rotating from the last number that the ball sat in the pocket, and if it spins in one direction in the first turn, it spins in the opposite direction the next turn.
Expectedly, the studio had to lower the payout for the straight-up bets to account for the multipliers, so straight bets in Mega Roulette payout 29:1. With this, the RTP for straight bets is 96.50% rather than 97.30% - which is the standard RTP for the European roulette wheel. Nonetheless, the RTP, as well as all the other bets, remain the same as standard roulette.

- Mega Bets - These wagers allow players to increase their chances of winning with multiplied Mega Wins by using well-known group bets such as Column or Straight.
