French Roulette

The French version of roulette emerged in Paris casinos towards the end of the 18th century. It resembles European roulette in that it features a total of 37 numbers and does not include any new or extra bets. In other words, there is also a single zero on the French roulette wheel, and the bet types and payouts are exactly the same. However, this version is played with either La Partage or En Prison rules, which makes it the roulette variant with the highest payout percentage.

Although it may seem like European roulette at first glance, the gameplay is different, and the RTP is higher due to the La Partage and En Prison rules. Remember that only one of these rules will be applied. The main features that distinguish the French variant from the others are:

• The highest RTP. The En Prison – La Partage rules increase the RTP of this variant to 98.65%, while the house edge decreases to 1.35%.
• One zero pocket. There is only one 0 pocket on the French roulette wheel, like European roulette.
• 37 numbers in total. For the same reason, it is played with a total of 37 numbers, 1 – 36 + 0.
• En Prison rule. If the player has placed an even money bet and lost because the result was 0, they can try their bet again in the next round.
• La Partage rule. If the player has placed an even money bet and lost because the result was 0, they get half of their bet back.
• Call bets are available. In most games, the racetrack area is standard, where you can place Tiers, Voisins, and Orphelins bets.
• The layout is different. Outside bets, such as Red/Black, have slightly different positions on the table.
• It is in French. As you might expect, the text/explanations on the table are in French.
• The number sequence. The numbers are placed on the wheel as follows: 0, 32, 15, 19, 4, 21, 2, 25, 17, 34, 6, 27, 13, 36, 11, 30, 8, 23, 10, 5, 24, 16, 33, 1, 20, 14, 31, 9, 22, 18, 29, 7, 28, 12, 35, 3, 26.
