Pratwiraj Palekar shared this*A New Year, A New Paradigm* There's an old proverb: "If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together." This is true—until a teleportation device is invented. Suddenly, you can travel both fast AND far at the same time. That will create a fundamental shift in our world. Artificial Intelligence is not just another technology upgrade. This is a breakthrough that requires us to rethink everything. The trickle-down effects of this shift will touch every aspect of our lives. It will likely take a decade or two for us to settle down and readjust to this new norm. Make no mistake—2026 is going to be a phenomenal year in shaping many of these directions. As we step into this new year, let's prepare ourselves to embrace this transformation. Wishing you a Happy and Great year ahead! 🎉

Pratwiraj Palekar shared thisWe’re racing toward AGI. But do we actually need it? Large Language Models have already crossed a critical line. They now perform at expert and even PhD levels across science, math, and reasoning. That’s not experimental intelligence anymore—that’s professional-grade capability, available to anyone. This changes everything. For most real-world problems, intelligence was never the only constraint—but it was a major one. Today, that barrier is gone. Expert reasoning is on demand. Knowledge is no longer scarce. So what is AGI, really? A practical definition might be this: the world’s best talent, applied continuously to the hardest problems—without human limits on time, energy, or scale. A human expert has a few productive decades. An AI system can apply elite reasoning endlessly, explore millions of variations, and iterate without fatigue. That alone can surpass the lifetime effort of any individual mind. Psychologist Angela Duckworth’s research reminds us that effort matters more than raw talent. Intelligence appears once in her formula. Effort appears twice. LLMs don’t get tired. AGI doesn’t have to mean consciousness or human replacement. It can simply mean removing human constraints from intelligence. And that may be more than enough to solve the problems we care about. Read the full essay on Medium: https://lnkd.in/gQjDZPwX

Pratwiraj Palekar shared thisPrompt "Top 10 Predictions for Humanity next 20 years". What All 3 Models Missed 🎯 Here’s what should be in the top 10—but isn’t. 1. Nuclear Energy (SMRs) — My #1 Conviction If AI is going to scale, energy has to scale with it. Portable, small modular reactors could become the backbone of the AI era. Data centers need power that’s cheap, reliable, and always on—right now. Solar and wind help, but they’re not enough. Everything else depends on this. 2. The Quiet Material Science Revolution This one doesn’t get headlines, but it changes everything. AI-driven simulations are unlocking new materials—stronger, lighter, safer, more efficient. Better materials mean better batteries, chips, buildings, vehicles… you name it. It’s not flashy, but it’s foundational. 3. Photonic (Light-Based) Computing - Result of #2 The next big computing leap may not come from NVIDIA. Light-based chips have the potential to rewrite the rules entirely. And history reminds us: AI didn’t come from Google—but Google adapted fast. The same thing could happen here. Someone disrupts the stack, and the giants catch up. This is my contrarian bet. Final Thought AI models are trained on consensus. They’re great at reflecting what everyone is already talking about. But the biggest shifts usually start somewhere quieter: • Nuclear energy finding its second life in the AI era • Photonic computing moving from lab to reality • Humans rediscovering land, craft, and meaning as automation gives time back The future isn’t just what’s trending. It’s what’s being built—slowly, patiently—under the surface.

Pratwiraj Palekar shared thisAre we witnessing the end game of traditional software engineering? We all grew up believing in software engineering as a craft — decades of human effort shaped by manual coding, bug-fixing, reviews, architecture debates. The term itself surfaced in the late 1960s, formalized around the 1968 NATO Software Engineering Conference — marking the moment when “programming” began to be treated as serious engineering. Over subsequent decades, software grew grander: large systems, distributed services, web, mobile, cloud — but also mounting complexity, technical debt, fragmented languages and endless maintenance cycles. Now in 2025, powerful AI models like Google Gemini 3 Pro and Claude Opus 4.5 are starting to write, reason about, and even architect code — with a fluency and scale previously unimaginable. This begs a hard question: Have we already reached the end of “software engineering” in the sense we once understood it? If humans coded relentlessly for 50+ years only to train an AI powerhouse… what’s next? I believe the next decade won’t be about new frameworks or languages — it’ll be about repaying the software-debt, auditing AI-written code, enforcing security, performance, maintainability. The “grunt work” will become less about typing lines and more about supervising, verifying and hardening AI output.

Pratwiraj Palekar liked thisPratwiraj Palekar liked thisAs I mentioned a few days ago, we're building an indigenous AI inference chip. 🇮🇳 A first milestone: we built a small demo version of our chip on FPGA. To put it to work, we trained two small language models from scratch — one matching the exact architecture of Microsoft's TinyStories model — and ran them live on the hardware, end to end. ~5M parameters, ~4 tokens/second. Modest by design. Early, but it works. Next, we scale: bigger models, higher throughput, and inference that runs offline, private, low-power and affordable — for edge devices and the regional languages a billion people actually speak. Real, indigenous, and running. More soon. 🚀

Pratwiraj Palekar liked thisVery Interesting!! Understanding requires observing the ways of the world and a lot of patience 😊 Thanks Sid Jain for sharingPratwiraj Palekar liked thisA lot of us are like that elephant in the image 🙈 Trying very hard to “help” people… without first understanding what actually helps them. Sometimes at work, in relationships, parenting, leadership, or friendships, we hand out oxygen cylinders to fish 🐠😂 Not because we are bad people. But because we assume: “What works for me must work for everyone.” The elephant genuinely wants to save the fish. But the elephant understands life through lungs, not gills. And that’s what happens many times in life. We advise people based on our experiences. Judge them based on our strengths. And expect them to heal, grow, think, cope, or succeed the way we do. Real wisdom is not in forcing people into our world. It is in understanding theirs first. Before advising… Before correcting… Before judging… Before trying to change someone… Let’s pause and ask: “Am I helping them… or just helping them become more like me?” Empathy is not agreeing with everyone. It is understanding that different people breathe differently 🌿 #Empathy #Leadership #EmotionalIntelligence #HumanBehavior #Mindfulness #Relationships #LifeLessons #Perspective #Compassion #PeopleSkills #WorkplaceCulture #Understanding #Wisdom #MentalWellbeing #LeadershipDevelopment #EmotionalWellbeing #ThoughtsToPonder #GaurGopalDas

Pratwiraj Palekar liked thisPratwiraj Palekar liked thisEveryone says deep tech needs Bengaluru (or a metro city in India). We chose Belagavi instead, and honestly, it's one of the boldest & risky decisions we've made. Most professionals in our tech world (in India) are sort of ‘migratory’ folks moving from their hometowns to metros where they fulfill their professional career. I have watched India become an execution/delivery hub while real product thinking & discretionary powers remained elsewhere. Here's what I learned that changed everything: - Talent isn't locked in metros (especially post COVID). It's everywhere, waiting for the right opportunity. - Focus actually improves when you're away from the NOISE. No constant networking events, no pressure to be seen at every startup gathering. - Long-term teams get built better outside the metro chaos. People stay because they believe in the work, not because of the ecosystem hype. The results speak for themselves: We work with 8 out of 10 semiconductor companies. We have a global presence that proves location doesn't limit ambition or growth. If deep-tech could only be built in metros, we wouldn't exist. The breakthrough came in realizing that the main ingredients of a success are : A committed team, a clear vision, and burning desire to accomplish something! Rest all falls in place automatically. Zip code of business matters the least! A dedicated team beats trendy office spaces. That real innovation happens when you focus on solving problems, not on being in the "RIGHT" metro or cosmo. The real cost of the metro-only mindset isn't just missed opportunities. It's the talent we overlook, the innovation we limit, and the belief that geography determines capability. We need more founders who dare to build from anywhere.

Swiggy just transformed on-demand commerce. By integrating the Model Context Protocol (MCP), Swiggy now allows users to order food and groceries directly through AI agents like ChatGPT and Google Gemini. No more app scrolling—just natural conversation. Why this shifts the paradigm: Zero Friction: Complex tasks become simple prompts. Active AI: MCP turns chatbots into transaction engines. New Interface: AI is becoming the primary storefront. This evolution highlights the massive potential of the Google Cloud ecosystem. The AnoCloud Role: We architect the cloud foundations—secure APIs, data pipelines, and scalable infrastructure—that make these advanced AI integrations possible.

From ₹4,000 to ₹35,000: The Pricing Tiers Shaping India's Smart Glasses Mass Market Just a few years ago, smart glasses were the stuff of science fiction—bulky prototypes with limited functionality and price tags that confined them to enterprise pilot projects and developer kits. Today, they are a tangible consumer reality, and nowhere is this transformation more evident than in India. In February 2025, Lenskart quietly disrupted the market by launching 'Phonic,' its first smart eyewear, priced at an astonishing ₹4,000. Barely a year later, Meta and Oakley introduced the Oakley Meta Vanguard for athletes, starting at ₹52,300. Between these poles lies a rapidly stratifying market, one that is no longer asking if Indians will adopt smart glasses, but which ones they will choose based on a clear-eyed calculation of features, form, and price. For the CEO, Head of Product, and Chief Strategy Officer, understanding this pricing architecture is not an academic exercise. It is the key to positioning your brand, defining your product roadmap, and capturing value in a market projected to grow at a staggering 29.21% CAGR, from USD 115.7 million in 2025 to over USD 1.2 billion by 2034. The mass market is forming, and it is coalescing around four distinct pricing tiers, each with its own logic, its own consumer, and its own opportunity. The Architecture of the Indian Smart Glasses Market The Indian smart eyewear market is not a monolith. It is a layered pyramid, with volume at the base and sophistication at the apex. While high-end AR headsets can still command prices upwards of ₹70,000, the mass market—where real volume and brand loyalty are built—is taking shape within a more accessible framework. Drawing from market launches and consumer benchmarks, four primary tiers are emerging that define the choices available to Indian consumers in 2026. Tier 1: The Mass-Market Disruptor (Under ₹5,000) At the very base of the pyramid lies the most significant development for Indian adoption: truly affordable smart eyewear. This tier is defined not by displays or advanced AR, but by audio-first or basic assisted intelligence. The benchmark here is Lenskart's 'Phonic,' launched in February 2025 at ₹4,000. These glasses focus on core, practical functionality—integrated audio, voice assistance, and perhaps basic notifications—delivered in a stylish, everyday frame. The proposition is simple: for the price of a mid-range pair of branded sunglasses, you get a connected device that enhances your daily life without overwhelming you with features. This tier is critical for market penetration. It targets the first-time buyer, the value-conscious consumer, and the vast population in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities who are curious about wearables but have a limited budget. Success here is contd..
