As banking continues to evolve, these conversations are increasingly important. Meanwhile, Microsoft has quietly released two products that operate on a completely different logic. They are very different tools, and most end users don't know the difference. Here's how the three actually compare: 𝗠𝟯𝟲𝟱 𝗖𝗼𝗽𝗶𝗹𝗼𝘁 is the AI assistant embedded in apps you already use. It drafts, summarises, and automates simple tasks. It supports with brainstorming, allows to build simple assistants that you can share with others. 𝗖𝗼𝗽𝗶𝗹𝗼𝘁 𝗖𝗼𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸 is the action layer. You describe the outcome; it handles the multi-step work across Outlook, Teams, and OneDrive, checking in with you before each action. Now generally available, priced on usage. 𝗦𝗰𝗼𝘂𝘁 is the autonomous agent. It works in the background across your desktop, browser, local files, and M365 without being prompted each time. Still in preview, and the setup bar is high. The progression: 💬 Copilot: 𝘏𝘦𝘭𝘱 𝘮𝘦 𝘥𝘰 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴. 🤝 Cowork: 𝘏𝘢𝘯𝘥𝘭𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘬𝘧𝘭𝘰𝘸. 🤖 Scout: 𝘖𝘸𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘰𝘶𝘵𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘦 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘐'𝘭𝘭 𝘤𝘩𝘦𝘤𝘬 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘶𝘭𝘵𝘴. The catch? Each step up in capability also means higher setup complexity, less predictable cost, and more trust placed in the system. The data engineer is not in the room because the org chart was never set up to put him there. And that, to be honest, is the operating model failure, not the AI bet itself. None of the people in that room are wrong, exactly. They are just deciding without the one person who could have told them the data is not ready to do what they have already promised. By the time the engineer finds out what got committed, the press release is already out. This is what I keep meaning when I say governance is an operating model and not a policy folder. Who sits in the room when AI strategy gets decided IS governance. The committee and the policy can stay where they are, but if the person who actually knows the data is not in the room, you have already lost the bet. In high-value crop production, protection means anticipating risks before they translate into yield loss. By the time you spot pests on the leaves during manual inspection, the population is already established. 𝗪𝗮𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝘀 𝗻𝗼 𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗿 𝗮𝗻 𝗼𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻.
