Palaura is a dating app for serious relationships, where AI does the matchmaking. It helps adults meet compatible people for dating and relationships. Palaura is operated by PALAURA AI PTE. LTD. ("Palaura," "we," "us," or "our").

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect your personal information when you use Palaura, including:

Information We Collect

Information You Give Us

Account and contact information: Your name, email address, phone number or messaging account you use to talk with Palaura, and sign-in details, including information from a sign-in provider such as Google.
Dating profile information: Information such as your age, gender, who you would like to meet, the age range and distance you prefer, your location, height, relationship goals, photos, bio, interests, lifestyle, values, and family plans.
Optional sensitive information: You can choose to tell Palaura about things such as your ethnicity, religion, or health. Providing this information is up to you. You can skip it, and you can ask us to remove it later.
Conversations with Palaura: The messages, photos, files, voice conversations, and voice messages you share with Palaura, including transcripts of voice conversations and voice messages.
Feedback and messages to matches: Your feedback on the people Palaura recommends, your decisions about introductions, and the messages you send to your matches through Palaura.
Payment information: Your purchases and subscription status. Payments are handled by our payment processors. We do not store your full card number.
Support and survey responses: Information you send when you contact us, report a problem, or answer a survey.

Information We Collect Automatically

Device and usage information: Your device type, operating system, browser, IP address, approximate location derived from your IP address, time zone, language, and how you use Palaura.
Cookies and similar technologies: We and our partners use cookies, pixels, and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember your settings, understand how our website is used, and measure and improve our advertising. See "Cookies and Advertising" below.

Information From Others

Sign-in providers: If you sign in with a provider such as Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from that provider.
Third-party AI assistants: If you use Palaura through a third-party AI assistant, we receive the messages and information you share with Palaura in that assistant, along with account identifiers the assistant provides so we can recognize you. If an AI agent uses our website for you, it signs in with your account and enters information on your behalf. We treat that information as information you give us.
Payment processors: We receive confirmation of your payments, refunds, and subscription status.
Advertising and marketing partners: We may receive information about how you arrived at our website, such as the ad or link you clicked.

How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

Provide the matchmaking service: Get to know you through conversation, build and update your dating profile, recommend people who may be a good fit, and learn from your feedback.
Talk with other members' matchmakers on your behalf: Share relevant information from your profile with another member's Palaura matchmaker to see whether there is mutual interest. See "What Other Members Can See" below.
Make introductions and deliver messages: Introduce you to a match when both of you say yes, and pass messages between you.
Keep Palaura safe: Confirm that members are adults, detect and prevent fraud, spam, and abuse, review content, and enforce our Terms of Service. We use automated tools and human review for this purpose.
Communicate with you: Send you recommendations, updates, reminders, and support messages, and, where permitted, marketing messages.
Improve Palaura: Understand how Palaura is used, fix problems, and improve the quality of our matchmaking. Authorized team members and the tools they use may review profiles and conversations for these purposes.
Measure and improve our marketing: Understand which ads and campaigns bring people to Palaura.
Process payments: Manage purchases, subscriptions, and refunds.
Meet legal obligations: Comply with applicable laws, respond to lawful requests, and protect the rights and safety of our members and others.

What Other Members Can See

Palaura is designed to introduce you to other people, so some of your information is shared with other members:

Your profile: Members Palaura recommends to you, and members you are recommended to, can see the parts of your profile that are meant to be shown, such as your first name or nickname, age, city, photos, bio, and interests, along with your approximate distance.
Matchmaker conversations: Your Palaura matchmaker may share relevant information from your profile with another member's Palaura matchmaker. A record of that conversation may be shown to both of you.
Messages to matches: When you and a match both say yes, the messages you send through Palaura are delivered to that person.
Members who use a third-party AI assistant or agent: Some members use Palaura through a third-party AI assistant or agent. If you are recommended or introduced to one of these members, the parts of your profile and the photos shown to them, Palaura's report on the conversation between your matchmakers, and the messages you send them through Palaura are delivered to them through that assistant or agent. Its provider handles that information under its own privacy policy.

We do not show other members your exact location, your contact details, or information we treat as private, such as your ethnicity. Your contact details are only shared if you choose to share them with a match yourself.

How We Use AI

Palaura uses artificial intelligence to understand your messages and voice conversations, build your profile, find and recommend matches, write recommendations, talk with other members' matchmakers, and help keep Palaura safe. Some of these systems make automated assessments, such as which people to recommend to you and whether an account may be underage or fraudulent. If you believe an automated decision about your account is wrong, contact us and we will review it.

We use third-party AI providers to run these features. They process your information to provide these functions for us.

AI can make mistakes. We do not use your personal information to train our own AI models.

We do not sell your personal information for money. We share your information only as described below:

With other members: As described in "What Other Members Can See."
With service providers: We work with companies that help us run Palaura, including providers of hosting and data storage, AI processing, messaging, maps and location services, payment processing, email delivery, analytics and advertising, customer support, and internal collaboration tools. They may use your information only to provide services to us.
With third-party AI assistants you use: If you use Palaura through a third-party AI assistant, that assistant receives Palaura's responses and the information shown in your conversation or on the pages it opens for you. The assistant's provider handles that information under its own privacy policy.
With advertising partners: Our advertising partners may collect information through cookies and similar technologies on our website to measure and improve our ads. See "Cookies and Advertising."
For legal reasons: When required by law, or when we believe in good faith that disclosure is needed to protect the rights, property, or safety of Palaura, our members, or others, or to prevent fraud or security threats.
In a business transfer: If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
With your consent: When you ask us to share your information or agree that we may.

Text Messages

If you give Palaura your phone number, including to sign in on our website or to talk with Palaura by text message:

Sign-in codes: When you ask for a sign-in code, we send it to you by text message. You get one message each time you ask for a code. Message and data rates may apply.
Help and opting out: Reply HELP to the number that sends your sign-in codes to get help. Reply STOP to stop receiving sign-in codes, or START to receive them again.
No sharing for marketing: We do not sell your mobile phone number or your consent to receive text messages, and we do not share them with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes. We share them only with the service providers that deliver our messages, as described in "How We Share Your Information."

Cookies and Advertising

We use cookies and similar technologies that are:

Necessary: To keep you signed in, keep your account secure, and remember your choices.
Analytics: To understand how people use our website and improve it.
Advertising: To measure the performance of our ads and show ads for Palaura on other services.

Some copies may remain in our systems or with our service providers for a period of time after deletion.

No system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee the security of your information. Please keep your account credentials safe and contact us if you believe your account has been compromised.

Your Rights and Choices

Access and correction: You can review and update your profile in Palaura, or ask us for a copy of your personal information or to correct it.
Deletion: You can delete your account in your account settings or ask us to delete it.
Portability: You can ask us for a copy of your personal information in a portable format.

Palaura is operated from Singapore and serves members in the United States. Your information may be processed in the United States, Singapore, and other countries where we or our service providers operate. We take steps to protect your information when it is transferred.
