What is a social media preview?
When someone shares your link on X, LinkedIn, Slack or Discord, the platform reads a few tags from your page, mainly Open Graph and Twitter Card tags, and builds a card with a title, description and image. A missing or broken tag can turn a launch post into a bare link.
This Open Graph checker fetches your URL, shows how the card could look, and lists what is good, what needs attention and how to fix it, including whether your OG image exists, loads, is an image and has a good size.

Frequently asked questions
Is this exactly what X and LinkedIn will show?
No. The previews are built from the metadata your website returns. Social platforms may cache, crop or process previews differently, so use this as a close check before you post.
What size should an OG image be?
Use 1200 × 630 px (a 1.91:1 ratio) as a safe default. It works for X large cards, LinkedIn, Facebook and most chat apps. Keep the file under 5 MB, and serve it over HTTPS.
Why does my preview not update on social media?
Platforms cache link previews, sometimes for days. After fixing your tags, re-scrape the URL with the platform’s own debugger, or share a URL with a new query string to test.
Why can’t you fetch my site?
Your server may return 403 or 404, require a login, block automated requests, or redirect to a private address. Private and local addresses such as localhost are blocked on purpose. Test the public, deployed URL.
Do you run JavaScript on my page?
No. We read the server-rendered HTML, which is what social crawlers see too. Tags added only by client-side JavaScript will not be detected, and most platforms will not see them either.
Is it free? Do I need to sign up?
