View PostgreSQL Cluster Metrics

You can monitor the performance of your PostgreSQL v2 clusters by opening the metrics dashboard in Grafana directly from the DCD.

Prerequisites:

1. In the DCD, go to Menu > Databases > PostgreSQL.

A list of all PostgreSQL clusters is displayed.

2. Note the LOCATION of the cluster for which you want to monitor the metrics.

Activate Central Monitoring for a region

To view a cluster's metrics, you must activate Central Monitoring for the region where the cluster is located. To do so, complete the steps in Turn on Central Monitoring for a region.

Open Grafana from the cluster details

1. Select a cluster (for whose location Central Monitoring was activated) from the list by clicking on its name. Alternatively, click Details in the OPTIONS column.

2. From the Cluster details page, go to Observability section, and select Open in Grafana to open the Grafana dashboard for the cluster's data center location. If you have instances in multiple regions, a region drop-down appears so you can switch between them.

3. Log in to the Grafana dashboard using IONOS CLOUD Single Sign-On (SSO). For more information, see Access Metrics from the Platform.

Configure the data source

1. From the Grafana home page, on the left-hand menu, go to Connections > Data sources.

2. From the Drilldown > Metrics, select Mimir from the Data source drop-down list.

View PostgreSQL database metrics

In the Search metric, search for PostgreSQL Metrics. You can view both infrastructure and health metrics.
