What the crawl looks at

The same engine that runs inside Convertlyft, pointed at your address, run by ConvertlyftBot, the crawler that runs this audit:

1. Your homepage, audited in full: titles, descriptions, headings, canonicals, structured data, and the accessibility checks that need no browser.
2. Your robots.txt and sitemap, read and counted, so you can see how much of your site is declared.
3. Up to 15 more pages from your sitemap (16 in all), actually opened: status, redirects, and the to-dos on each.

You get a score out of 100 with its four parts, the issues to fix first with example pages, and a link to the result you can share. Scan the same site again within 24 hours and you get that result back rather than a second crawl.

What this scan does not check

• Pages that only take shape once JavaScript runs: the free scan does not run scripts. A page like that is marked as such instead of being called thin.
• Broken links: link checking is off on the free scan.
• Colour contrast and the accessibility checks that need a page loaded in a browser.

A check that could not look reports nothing rather than a clean pass, and the result lists each one by name.

Why use an SEO checker

A search engine can only rank a page its crawler can fetch and read. An SEO checker shows you your pages the way that crawler sees them: which pages answer and which redirect, which have no title, description or heading, and what your robots.txt and sitemap tell it. It turns that into a short list of to-dos, so you know what to fix first instead of guessing.

What a checker cannot tell you is where you rank, or why a ranking moved. That comes from Google itself: use Google Search Console, or Rankings in a Convertlyft account.

Is the SEO checker free, and do I need an account?

It is free and needs no account. Type your address and the crawl starts; the result comes with a link you can keep.

Does it check my whole site or one page?

Up to 16 pages: your homepage, audited in full, and more pages from your sitemap, each opened for its status, redirects and to-dos. An account crawls much more of your site.

Does the free scan run JavaScript?

No. A page that only takes shape once scripts run is marked as such instead of being called thin.

Does it check broken links?

No. Link checking is off on the free scan, and the result says so rather than reporting a clean pass.

Does the crawler obey robots.txt?

Yes. It obeys your robots.txt and identifies itself in your logs as ConvertlyftBot, except the requests sent under each AI agent’s name to see how your server answers it.

What if I scan the same site again?

Within 24 hours you get the same result back rather than a second crawl.

Will fixing these issues improve my rankings?

Nobody can honestly promise that. Fixing what the scan finds removes things that stop a search engine from fetching and reading your pages. Where you rank after that depends on your content, the searches you want and who else competes for them.
