Better family leave, fair assessments, safer workplaces: these are not radical proposals but support that women in research should absolutely expect.     Now is the time for research institutions to step up and level the playing field for women.

Women are far less likely than men to progress in research careers – we’re changing that. The new Women in Research Charter will level the playing field, backing action on family leave, flexible working and tackling harassment.

I'm incredibly proud that more than 60 universities and research organisations are among the first to sign up to our charter for women in research. Women shouldn't have to choose between family and careers.

New @ESA_Euclid image drop! This cut out is from the largest high-resolution photo ever taken of the centre of our galaxy in visible light. 📸 Euclid is imaging vast swathes of the sky to help explore dark matter and energy, with an instrument onboard funded by us. 🌌

No less than 60 million stars in one image. It's possible thanks to the @ESA_Euclid mission. For just one day, Euclid turned its gaze to the crowded heart of the Milky Way and captured the largest, most detailed photo ever taken of our galaxy's centre in visible light. Let's
A dense field of tiny stars fills this square image taken by the European Space Agency’s Euclid space telescope. The lower and central areas are dominated by bright yellow and gold colours, forming a textured background similar to fine glitter or sand. Dark brown and black patches cut irregularly through the yellow regions, like ink stains or clouds of smoke. Toward the upper left, the colours shift to purple and reddish tones, blending gently into the surrounding star field. Small blue points of light are scattered across the image.
