A nine-year-old girl had her leg broken when she was hit by a car that then drove off.

Lancashire Police said the child was hit by a car on White Lund Road, Morecambe, at 20:30 GMT on Saturday.

Police said that "while the driver initially stopped at the scene and spoke with people", he left before the emergency services arrived.

Police want to trace the driver of the red red estate car, who is described as a man in his 50s with grey hair. Officers have appealed for any CCTV, dashcam, mobile or ring doorbell footage.
