Amanda Bynes Teases New Song With Her Rapping Over a Rage Beat

In a post shared on Instagram, Amanda Bynes teased a new song that seems to feature her rapping over a rage beat.
The former child actress, who collaborated with Fenix Flexin earlier this year on the song "Girlfriend," appears to be doubling down on her plans to pursue a music career. She signed with Create Music Group in April, and her second release through the label is on the way soon.
"Get hyphy bc trap house is coming soon gang," she wrote alongside a video previewing the song, which is also credited as featuring Zabba and Lil Dexx.

She hasn't indicated when the song is expected to arrive, but it's evident that she's taken influence from the rage sub-genre of hip-hop. The sub-genre, which was pioneered by the likes of Playboi Carti and Trippie Redd alongside the production collective Working on Dying, has such a wide-reaching influence now that it's no surprise Bynes would be interested in adopting its distinctive sound.
Bynes officially retired from acting in 2012, with her last on-screen role being 2010's Easy A. In the years since, she's experienced issues with mental health, substance abuse, and multiple arrests. She was placed in a conservatorship in 2013, which finally came to an end in 2022. The year following that, she was placed on a 72-hour psychiatric hold after experiencing a psychotic episode. Thankfully, she's appeared to be doing better more recently, hosting a sold-out art show in Los Angeles in 2024 and teasing a "super cute" collection of accessories earlier this year.
