Frances Weller is a proud Wilmington native, award-winning journalist, and community advocate. She recently celebrated 40 years at WECT and is a leader of the most trusted news team in Southeastern North Carolina.
He anchors “WECT News at 5:30”, co-anchors “WECT News at 6pm” and “WECT News at 11pm” with Frances Weller, and co-anchors “WECT News at 10” on Fox Wilmington with Daniella Hankey.

Kim has worked in the Wilmington television market for more than 20 years. She graduated from UNCW with a BA in Communication Studies in 1988.
Reyna Crooms joined the news team in June of 2023 as a multimedia journalist/ reporter. Reyna grew up just outside of the Raleigh area in Apex, North Carolina.
Daniella Hankey joined the WECT family in January of 2022. Born and raised in the City Beautiful - Orlando, Florida, Daniella is thrilled to be closer to her hometown and by the beach.
Delaney Tarpley joined the WECT news team in September 2023 as a multimedia journalist and weekend anchor. Delaney was born and raised in Kansas City, Missouri. She is a proud alum of the University of Missouri, where she graduated with a bachelor’s in journalism and political science and a minor in psychology.
Mackenzie Bruns joined the WECT News team in June of 2025 as a multimedia journalist and reporter. Mackenzie is from Macungie, Pennsylvania, and graduated from Penn State University with bachelor degrees in journalism and geography.
Arianna Bertolotti joined the WECT team in January of 2025 as a multimedia journalist/reporter. Arianna attended college at the University of South Carolina where she graduated with leadership distinction and manga cum laude obtaining a Bachelor of Arts in Broadcast Journalism and a minor in hospitality.
Jacee Caldwell joined the WECT news team in December 2024 as a multimedia journalist/reporter and anchor.
Connor Smith joined the WECT team in July 2024 as a multi-media journalist/reporter and graduated from Syracuse University's Newhouse School of Public Communications in 2024 with a degree in broadcast and digital journalism and minors in sport management and political science.

Gannon Medwick joined the WECT First Alert Weather Team as chief meteorologist in 2013. Originally from Wilmington, Delaware, Gannon earned a Bachelor of Science in Meteorology from Penn State in 2003 and his career quickly took him to N.C.
Gabe Ross is a second-generation broadcaster, forecaster and emcee and has been with WECT since 2015.
Ella joined the WECT First Alert Weather team in August of 2023. Ella is a Wilmington native and grew up watching WECT. Raised right here in the Cape Fear, Ella’s fascination for meteorology grew with each hurricane that graced our coast.
A North Carolina native, Mark grew up in Siler City, North Carolina, and got his first taste of broadcasting when he worked as a news announcer at WKNC while attending NC State University. After graduating from NC State, he worked as an Account Executive at WLFL-TV in Raleigh, before moving to Wilmington in 2002.
Brad Myers started at WECT in 2016, working as the Executive Producer for Carolina in the Morning and is now the News Director.
Lee leads Gray Television’s National Investigative Team. He also is a Senior Vice President within Gray and is an anchor on both InvestigateTV+ and InvestigateTV+ Weekend.
Jamie is InvestigateTV's Director of Investigations. She coordinates content and produces stories with a particular passion for digging into government programs and waste, health care policy and education.
Greg is the Managing Editor for InvestigateTV+. Before joining InvestigateTV, he was News Director at WMC, Gray Television’s NBC affiliate in Memphis, TN.
