Access to the Academy Grounds is Limited

Effective May 7th, 2025 anyone with a locally prepared DBIDS or a DOD credential, including military retirees and dependents may drive onto USNA. All others will need to park outside the Academy and walk in through Gate 1. All visitors 18 years of age or older must have a valid REAL ID Compliant Driver’s License or State ID card (look for the five point star on the driver’s license), United States Passport, or Enhanced Driver’s License (EDL). Please note that as a result of the REAL ID Act, some state/territory IDs are not sufficient for access to the Academy. Please refer to the Security/Access FAQs for more information.

Visitors under the age of 18 who do not have a valid picture ID must be escorted by an adult with a valid form of identification. Please check the current security restrictions before planning a visit.

Non-US citizens may only visit the U.S. Naval Academy and Naval Support Activity Annapolis when in the escort of a U.S. Citizen who has Department of Defense Credentials and escort privileges and only for official U.S. Naval Academy or Naval Support Activity Annapolis sponsored events. Even when properly escorted or sponsored, non-US citizens must still present an official passport upon request.
