Mission
The Office of Special Events is responsible for acting as the initial point of contact for all outside activities desiring to hold an event on the grounds of the Naval Academy. This includes first determining the suitability of the request to be held at USNA. If the appropriate criteria are met, the Office of Special Events will then assist with the coordination of the event. Additionally, the Office of Special Events develops the USNA Master Schedule and Operations Report to facilitate the resolution of scheduling conflicts.
MIDN Milestone Events
Major events in the life of a USNA midshipman. Throughout a midshipman's time here at the Naval Academy, there will be many significant milestones that we celebrate. These include Induction Day (I-Day), Plebe Summer, Plebe Parents Weekend, Second Class Parents' Weekend and Commissioning Week. Below is a brief description of each of these milestones as well as links to additional information.
Retirement Ceremonies
The Office of Special Events at the United States Naval Academy coordinates retirement ceremonies for eligible Alumni, as well as any military service member currently stationed at USNA. We will be happy to provide you with assistance in venue selection and reservation, time deconfliction, post-ceremony reception options as well as many other coordination items.
