The Adaptive Rapid Engagement Squadron (ARES) team exists as a Midshipmen-led research and development team for creating and integrating new techniques, tactics and procedures relating to the adoption of new technology such as drones and electronic warfare in modern combat scenarios. The team also exists to allow Midshipmen to practice leadership in stressful combat simulation environments and allow them to focus on real-world modern day applicable combat problems before reaching the Fleet.
