Marauders Era Quiz: Which Character Do You Kin?

This 15-question Marauders Era personality quiz compares your everyday choices with six characters. Find out whose habits and approach to friendship you relate to most.

What Marauders Era Character Do You Kin

What the Marauders Era covers

The Marauders Era centers on the generation who attended Hogwarts with Harry Potter’s parents. James Potter, Lily Evans, and their classmates attended school from 1971 to 1978; those dates describe their school years, not the full First Wizarding War.

The Marauders themselves were James, Sirius Black, Remus Lupin, and Peter Pettigrew. Lily and Severus Snape were their classmates, but weren’t members of that group.

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban explains the four friends’ connection. School memories in Order of the Phoenix and Deathly Hallows show their conflicts and Lily’s friendship with Severus.

What kin means here

In this quiz, to kin a character means you relate to parts of their personality or experiences. You might recognize your own habits in someone whose choices you wouldn’t make.

A favorite is someone you enjoy, a crush involves attraction, and a comfort character helps you feel at ease. Those feelings can overlap, but this quiz focuses on similarities in how you respond to everyday situations.

How this quiz works

This unofficial personality quiz has 15 questions and six possible character matches. It’s for entertainment and self-reflection, and it doesn’t assess your mental health or define your identity.

The questions ask about group projects, study habits, and friendship. Your responses give the quiz a basis for comparing your habits with its character profiles: how you handle a friend’s bad idea, for example, or what you do when a plan fails.

Choose the answer closest to your usual response, even if another sounds more impressive. If you’d prefer a match beyond this school generation, you can also explore which Harry Potter character you relate to.

Meet the six possible matches

These profiles use school-era details from the books. The matching traits are interpretations for this quiz, and you can relate to a character without sharing every trait.

James Potter

James becomes an Animagus to accompany Remus during his transformations, but he also bullies Severus. His profile connects confidence and taking initiative with the need to consider other people’s feelings.

Lily Evans

Lily challenges James over his treatment of Severus and later ends her friendship with Severus. Her match draws on speaking up for someone while having boundaries of your own.

Remus Lupin

Remus is a prefect, yet he admits he didn’t stop his friends from bullying Severus. His profile explores the tension between knowing something is wrong and fearing conflict with friends.

Sirius Black

Sirius rejects his family’s prejudice but takes risks that put others in danger. Independence and loyalty fit his profile, alongside a tendency to act before considering the harm.

Peter Pettigrew

Peter joins his friends in learning to become an Animagus and admires James. His match focuses on wanting support and belonging; it doesn’t predict betrayal or judge your courage.

Severus Snape

Severus has a talent for potions and an interest in the Dark Arts during school. His profile draws on focused interests and a guarded approach to others, without excusing his hurtful choices.
